  • This was one of our hotels during a two week road trip through California, Arizona, Utah & Nevada. It was above average.Rooms were nicely refurbished, flat-TV, nice decent colors. Good bathroom, very clean. Kind of a strange orange smell in the corridor but not too annoying. Breakfast facilities on the top floor are too narrow, just like the parking lots - but thats the trade off for a good hotel you pay not too much.

  • Our 3 day stay at Comort Inn ans Suites Zoo was very pleasant. It is excellent value for money without compromising comfort or cleanliness. The rooms were surprisingly large, with a large bathroom and very comfortable the beds. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of not only the rooms but the entire building. Breakfast was lovely with all the necessities like cofees, tea, hot chocolate, juices, eggs, muffins, bagels, toast, cereals, waffles, fruit etc. This Comfort Inn is also centrally located to most tourist attractions like Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, SeaWorld and the Zoo. The only exception is the Wild Animal Park which is 25 minutes away. We will definitely stay here again!

  • Our 3 day stay at Comort Inn ans Suites Zoo was very pleasant. It is excellent value for money without compromising comfort or cleanliness. The rooms were surprisingly large, with a large bathroom and very comfortable the beds. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of not only the rooms but the entire building. Breakfast was lovely with all the necessities like cofees, tea, hot chocolate, juices, eggs, muffins, bagels, toast, cereals, waffles, fruit etc. This Comfort Inn is also centrally located to most tourist attractions like Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, SeaWorld and the Zoo. The only exception is the Wild Animal Park which is 25 minutes away. We will definitely stay here again!

  • My room had a cracked and broken window with a gap between the panes. The frame was warped and needs replacement. The toilet ran. The internet cable was broken, but the wireless worked. Stains all over the carpet.

  • I wouldnt suggest this hotel if you arent renting a vehicle. If taking public transportation it can be about an hour to get downtown. Great hotel, rooms could be a bit larger. TV Channels were concentrated on Sports. Wouldnt suggest ordering from local pizza flyers placed in room or under door, subpar food. (not the hotels fault). MTS Trolley station is about a mile and a half away - you can walk but its tricky, or pay 8$ to take a cab. AC is a Plus in the room - room was clean! Should remodel the bathroom and take out the wallpaper around the shower area. Free Wireless Internet is a plus!

  • The suite concept was nice. The extra room with bunk beds worked very well for our 3 year old. She loved it. Two of the three nights of stay, it was very noisy in the hallway on our floor. Kids running back and forth screaming, parents talking loudly at all hours. Needless to say the last night of our stay, not too much sleep. Maybe the hotel staff needs to patrol the corridors when there are lots of kids in the hotel.

  • I just had a little problem with the rooms. I know that hotel rooms are kind of just thrown together, but this is the first time i had one that actually looked like that. Especially the wallpaper in the bathroom.

  • San Diego is a wonderful place to visit with a lot of attractions and beautiful scenery. The hotel was marginal. The door into our room did not fit tightly to the jamb and we werent sure about the security in the hotel since the outside doors seemed to be open to the public and there were no guards present. The breakfast included was adequate; but nothing special. My wife and I would visit the area again but would stay somewhere else--there are plenty of other options.

  • Our room (Kids suite)was much smaller than the fisheye lens showed in the ads, though it was comfortable. The refrigerator did not keep things very cold at all. Plenty of towels and linens were clean. The floor/carpet of our room were not bad at all. Always had hot water in shower. The breakfast room was usually very crowded, but plenty of food-could have been set up alot better. We had no problem with parking here--it was EVERYWHERE else in San Diego that was horrendous! Staff friendly and helpful. I was worried after reading some of the other reviews, but our experience was just fine. Our only real complaint was the location. Other than the steakhouse next door (where we had 2 of the BEST steaks ever!!), there was nothing right there within walking distance. General location--right off I-8- was convenient if you have your own transportation.

We have stayed here before and will again when we go to see our kids that live in Lajolla. It only takes 10 - 15 minutes to get to their house from the hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

  • My stay was very good. The people were friendly, but there weren't enough people working. I requested towels and didn't get them for 2 hours after calling twice. They need more staff all over the hotel. And there should microwaves in the room or on some floors.

  • Recent remodel just finished on the 2nd floor and we luckily got a new room! Very clean and modern. Updated look compared to pictures shown and would reccommend to others. New furniture and plasma tv in room. We were scared to take a shower because of other reviews but the shower wasnt bad @ all. Location and parking ***** but decent room for the price!!!

  • We recently stayed here at the hotel did had its purks but not all was true. The receptionist were all very nice since we arrived. The first night we were there we were amazed of how nice the rooms looked, little did we know that something was going to go wrong in the ""newly remodeled"" hotel. The first night my family and I were there I kept hearing water dripping, as soon as I got up to look at the bathroom sink we had a major flood in the room. They sent up a janitor to clean out the pipes and he mentioned that management knew about this for months but has never done anything about it. Next we were sent the security guard to disinfect the area that was affected. I lost all my toiletries, including my contact lenses. They did not want to give us a new room until my husband called and told him how bad the stench was in our room. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

You can also walk one block to the trolley shuttle and use that to hit the downtown/harbor spots. The pool was small, OK for kids, but the hot tub was hot. This is not a fancy hotel with resort grounds (almost no grounds, actually), but it is a good place to stay to be near things, and a good choice if you and the family want to spend money on activities instead of upscale lodging.

  • I reserved our hotel from travel website and was very impressed with the hotel. The room was newly renovated. We were on the second floor. The room is very roomy. The only thing I do have to say is that if you have delivery of food (such as pizza) make sure you have the right address. Our pizza took 1 1/2 hours to get because there are two Comfort Inns and the address for the other one is on some of the literature in the rooms. So make sure that you have the correct address. The breakfast is included and is on the 3rd floor and it is very busy and is kept up after people leave and the tables stay dirty. I cleaned my own table. Of course, they are very, very, very busy.

  • I reserved our hotel from travel website and was very impressed with the hotel. The room was newly renovated. We were on the second floor. The room is very roomy. The only thing I do have to say is that if you have delivery of food (such as pizza) make sure you have the right address.   • Hotel was just okay - free breakfast in the morning was so crowded we had to wait 15 minutes in line and it was not worth it. My kids tried all the vending machines on all of the floors looking for water and all were sold out - our room the floor was soaking wet in spots - did not attempt to go to the pool because it was so over crowded. the only thing we liked was the location.

  • We actually booked four rooms in this hotel for a family trip. Our rooms (all on 3rd floor) were all very clean and very quiet. Building is of concrete construction, and those of us on the freeway side reported little road noise. Two in our party have back trouble, but said their backs were better after sleeping on the beds - very comfortable.Breakfast area is on the 4th floor and seats about 60. We encountered no issues with crowding or long lines (we were usually there between 6:30 and 7:30), and the breakfast was quite ample with muffins, pastries, fresh fruit, waffles, etc.Our interactions with the hotel staff were all positive. The front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Every request was handled promptly and courteously.Parking was adequate and accessible. We had no problem finding a space for our 8-passenger van. The fitness room was rather small and we didnt see the pool, but we werent interested in those features.For dining outside the hotel, there is a pricey steakhouse next door. More reasonable places are not too far away, and the front desk staff have maps and recommendations at the ready.There are many, many hotels in this part of San Diego. Im not sure what some of the others are like, but this one turned out to be an excellent value for the money. We would stay there again without hesitation.

  • The front desk help was less than helpful. Our room was a family suite, approved for five people, yet there were only four sleeping spaces. A rollaway was not possibe, due to the small size of the room and the fact it would have blocked the exitway.Bring an air mattress. The rooms have been recently redone and the beds were very comfortable. Flat screen t.v.s were in the rooms. When we needed additional towels, we could not just get them from housekeepers on the floor, but had to call the front desk which took quite a while. We never got the correct amount of towels in our room. At the pool, there were no towels available. Several individuals notified the front desk, but after 45 minutes, still none. My daughter went in the lobby to use the restroom and slipped because of not being able to dry off first. If you plan on eating breakfast at the hotel, try to get there earlier than 8 or so. The lines after that are very long. The quality of the food was fine. We would not stay here again, but it is an ok place.
