  • Great Value! I too was a bit weary because of the 1 star ranking by travel agency, but alas, I was very pleasantly surprised! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was outstanding. Bed was very comfy. The location was convenient for me... It wasnt a far drive to the theme parks... it is also right across from Super Target, and near heaps of shops and restaurants. The room was very clean. I upgraded to the room w/ King size bed & hot tub right there across from the bed... throw in some bubble bath, and some candles, and u got urself a romantic getaway ;o) (There is a full size shower in the bathroom)Dont expect a big luxurious resort at all, this is a very cute and cozy hotel. I think the people leaving negative feedback about this property are the types that want the world for a buck. If you want a big luxury hotel suite, then loosen your purse strings for crying out loud! SHEESH!Hope ur experience there was as awesome as mine!

  • Great Value! I too was a bit weary because of the 1 star ranking by travel agency, but alas, I was very pleasantly surprised! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The suite, that was very affordable, just about $15 more, was very comfy, two nice bathrooms and a complete kitchen, A very nice place to accomodate 6 people. Excellent service. Nice Suites, and great price.

  • kitchen had no cooking pots and need more silverware. Continental breakfast consisted of wrapped cakes and no cereal or milk and bagels. Very basic place. Great for price.

  • howard johnsons was a great hotel, friendly, and clean, and had a really nice pool area with whirl pool. close to shopping and disney parks. much to do in this area. we will probably visit here again real soon.

  • the stay was good i came on vacation with my kids the breakfast was good that they offered the tsaff of house keeping was wonderful . the room i had a suite and it was great there was so much room . the hotel offered shuttles to the theme parks which was great but we had rented a car anyways. the only problem i had was the front desk lady she had a adittude from the time i checked in and was on her cell phone and didnt know pretty much what was going on and when i did ask her a question she just said she didnt know . which i thought was inprofessional , she should of found someone that could help me . but i came back that night and asked the other girls that was working that night about my promblem and they had no problem at with helping me and they were so nice .But they do need to get pool towels for there guest and not have us use the ones from the room .which means that i have to ask for extra ones

  • Value for $$$. For us it was great. Booked with as a package. Only needed to sleep and shower there. Wouldn't want to pay their rack-rate, though. It was adequate and clean. I have no complaints. WE BOOKED AND STARTED OUR VACATION AND DURING THE NIGHT OUR VEHICLE WAS VANDALIZED AND WE SUUFERED OVER $3000.00 OF LOSS. WE HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH THE BOOKING WEBSITE AND THE MOTEL. WE HAVE BEEN OFFERED NO HELP AND NO COMPENSATION FOR OUR LOSSES. AS A MATTER OF FACT WE HAVE BEEN DISREGARDED. AS A RESULT OF HAVING TO END OUR VACATION EARLY WE WERE NOT EVEN OFFERED A REFUND ON THE THE RAMINDER OF OUR STAY FROM THIS MOTEL. THE MOTEL TELLS ME TO CALL TRAVEL AGENT AND TRAVEL AGENT TELLS ME TO DEAL WITH THE MOTEL.

  • When i had arrived at this hotel i wanted to check in because my flight came in early and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and out of her place in the way she had spoke to me and my family members .For this i am so up set because it was very rude of her to say what she did to my mother in law you had a very beautiful hotel here and the rooms are wonderful but the lady that works in the morning has to go her attitude really STINK!!!!!! for her to be working with the public one on one . my thing is if you are unhappy with your job then why are you there....you are going to lose alot of business with people that work like this at your hotel ........

  • Esperabamos que fuera algo mejor, lamentablemente no fue asi, el cuarto tenia un olor demasiado fuerte a humedad, y olor a hongo. Asi eran todos los cuartos. a mi me afecto por mi condicion de alergias. Quizas a otras personas no sientan el olor. El personal del hotel se porto muy bien. Las facilidades no.

  • I stayed 2 days in this location because of the services offered and the low price. If you are reading this review to plan a trip, Id avoid this HoJo location. Heres why;1) The hot tub and pool were dirty, the hot tub jets did not work correctly and it was tepid. 2) The hotel room, #238, had almost NO water pressure in the shower and the counters/toilet were about 2 ft off the floor! Id never seen a brand hotel with a room designed like that! It looked like a hotel manger/Howard Johnson staff member never inspected the workers or contractors who built these hotel rooms. The room was ample sized but has no ref-microwave. These items are not that expensive now...3) The HoJo location had no security cameras or uniformed security officers. The front desk clerk informed me that they check the entire property ""once an hour"". This is unsafe and a major security issue. 4) The AM/breakfast is a total joke. Guests are squeezed into an unused hotel room and forced to line up for coffee, jiuce, donuts, toast, etc. Its like a cramped submarine. Howard Johnsons upper mgmt should shut it down ASAP. Its unsafe and a fire hazard. Overall Id say this hotel has major problems. It should be shut down and corrected. Chain hotels, even the low end style should have some regs/standards. The staff was nice and helpful but the conditions were awful.

  • Honestly I had read the reviews for this Hotel and have to admit , I was terrified about the hotel. When we got to the hotel we received a very courteous service even though the employee was a trainee, she did what she could, because we decided to upgrade to Suite instead of a double bed room. The service was quick and we got our suite complete with 2 bath/ 2 rooms, 2 cable TVs and a nice little kitchen equipped. (Perfect for when you have kids)The cleanliness was ok, the maid apparently just made the beds and that was it, it wasnt the ultra clean room but it was certainly not dirty or filthy, and considering that I paid sooo little for a 5 night Suite, it was safe and trust me if you are going to the parks all you will do is sleep there, and it is great for that. The beds were comfortable too, not bad for the pricing. I would visit again.

  • You should not count on the free shuttle - it is very limitied. The shuttle to the Magic Kingdom didnt leave until noon, so half the day would be gone.We did not use the pool, but we saw directions to a lake and a pool.It was close to Disneyland and the value for the dollar couldnt have been better. Theres a lot to do nearby in Orlando / Disney.

  • When booking my trip I was kind of nervous because of all the other reviews. When checking in the front desk staff was very pleasent. I upgraded my room which was no problem for a very low fee but the room carpet was very dirty and almost damp. The room had a very strong disinfectant smell so we had to air it out. Several customers complained and left during my stay here. They said their rooms were not clean enough and the front desk staff stood around and complained about all of their customers who left and had problems. I just feel as though even if the room was cheap that doesnt mean it has to be dirty. Ive stayed in others hotels at cheap rates and the room was very basic and clean. The shuttle service was late each day on both ends and the breakfast sucked. While checking out sunday morning the whole staff was gathered around the front desk with one customer talking about the guest. I heard all about the guy who lives there cause his family never came back for him and the black guy who was there the day before in the big car cause he wanted to see the clubs, but the only clubs around there are strip clubs per the staff.I just thought they had very poor customer service and if enough people complain why isnt anything being done about their employees.

  • i had checked in on a friday and told the front desk girls that i was going to recieve a few packages . because i was there on vacation/business trip doing the trade shows for my company. when I had came in the next morning and had asked the women working for one thing she was to busy standing by the front doors smoking with an other gentleman that had worked and told me she would be right with me which in that case i found out that she had to finish her cigerette first. When she did finally come to the front desk the gentleman came with her and I had asked her if there was any packages for me that had arrived because they were suppose to be delivered early . well her cell phone rang and she was doing more talking on her phone then she was dealing with my problem. again when she finished with the call she helped me by saying that she isnt UPS and wouldnt know if the packages came or not but when they do I would let you know . Now my biggest problem is the gentleman with the mustashe that was standing there could have helped me he wasnt doing anything but listening to her phone call . why would you have these kind of unprofessials working there i just wanted to know if my ackage came or not they only had to say no I am sorry not yet

  • i had checked in on a friday and told the front desk girls that i was going to recieve a few packages . because i was there on vacation/business trip doing the trade shows for my company. when I had came in the next morning and had asked the women working for one thing she was to busy standing by the front doors smoking with an other gentleman that had worked and told me she would be right with me which in that case i found out that she had to finish her cigerette first.   • It was not the worst place we have stayed but it was not well kept and the service was not ideal. The receptionists were always arguing among one another or talking to their friends on the phone. Not only was our room not up to Par with the online description but we left a complaint at the desk ( i found ants crawling on our nightstand) I would not reccommend this Hotel unless it was a last resort or if your a young persdon who just wants to explore Florida and dont care where you stay.

  • was close to alot of store like cicis pizza pizza hut ihop and a doller store that has everything for a doller the beds were so comfterable the only thing was they had roaches there wernt alot of people there but it was still good makesure u ask for todd

  • My room was clean, the hotel has a beatiful lake front, nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good. Great price and i already booked this place for my summer trip!!

  • My room was clean, the hotel has a beatiful lake front, nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good. Great price and i already booked this place for my summer trip!!

On the other hand, the housekeepers are very sweet and helpful and they do a good job cleaning your room everyday. The managers were also friendly and helpful. Another plus, the Disney Resort (all four theme parks) are only about 5 miles away and Sea World is very close, too. Forget the hotels shuttle and just rent your own car. Although I wasnt expecting the Ritz Carlton, I was expecting cleanliness so for this reason, I would not stay there again. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

  • i admit that before i got here i was a bit apprehensive about this hotel. online travel website only ranked it as a 1 star hotel, but i think theyre seriously misguided. im guessing they havent stayed here, for if they had, it would have been ranked higher. the staff was AMAZING (especially the night audit manager - i think Joe was his name?). he welcomed me to the hotel with much warmth, and made me secure in my choice to stay here from the get-go. they offer a $2000 insurance for anything taken from the room. every room also comes with a free safe (good sized), a full-sized iron & ironing board, cable TV with 3 HBO channels (free), and a free breakfast every morning. its also only about 3 minutes from the entrance to the Walt Disney World area. ill definitely keep it high on my list for staying here next time im in town. for the price, you cant beat the quality! :-)

  • I had read the complaints on this hotel and the compliments on it too . I even called the hotel and talked with a lady name M who is suppose to be the manager. I really didnt want to stay here but it was the closest one to where I had to go and be at for me .I had asked the manager if the problems with the woman at the front desk was resolved and she had told me that they were so that was a big relief for me . so me and my sister and our 2 kids booked for a weeks stay and thought it was going to a vacaton that we needed well let me first say that i have meet the lady that everyone on this page was complaining about and she isnt someone you want working for you .her adittude really isnt professional for customer relations in this field of work.she was very rude and inconsierate of others. My vacation was long over dued and very much needed . Just to have this lady treat me in the manner that she did . But the whole thing she didnt care who was around her because I had my 8 yr old daughter and my 7 yr old niece along with my sister and she still was very rude . regaurdless of what she did we did enjoy visiting the parks around there and family members . the rooms were so big and very clean . maybe they will finally see what this lady is doing to people and do something about it .so to people who are going to book at this hotel make sure you do your homework first on this place.

  • if youre going to stay here, rent a car...theres only shuttle to the amusements per day, and it comes back @ 6pm. staff didnt know where anything was, but the suites were very comfy. dont expect a microwave in your room, cause there are none. all the space in the suites was great. for your continental breakfast they have juice, coffee and cinammon rolls. dont expect toast or bagels. small space to eat too!
