  • The location wasnt near any major sites but, the metro was right down the street and that was just as good. The staff was mostly friendly but I had to ask for a crib for my infant daughter 3 times before it arrived.There were plenty of nice surrounding restaurants but not a lot of crowds. I should also add this hotel is the only one Ive seen in Paris with a FULL shower curtain instead of the french half shower door thing. Sometimes its the little things that make you happiest.

  • This is by far the largest room I have stayed in while in Paris (you can actually walk fully around both sides of the double bed and there was a table!) and for less money than any other hotel I have stayed at. It is older, but is clean, and if you are used to european hotels, for a standard double room this is great, even the bed is 1 mattress instead of the typical split mattresses. I booked at the last minute and had a late arrival with no issues. Staff all speaks excellent english and is friendly. Room service breakfast is great, even with special orders. Very good price, easy location to get to and from everything on the metro.

  • This is by far the largest room I have stayed in while in Paris (you can actually walk fully around both sides of the double bed and there was a table!) and for less money than any other hotel I have stayed at.   • Trying to find a hotel that will sleep a family of 4 (2 teenage boys 17 & 15 who dont sleep together) was hard. However this hotel seemed to fit our needs. As long as you dont mind folding up the hide a bed and rolling the twin bed they supplied us in to the corner of the room. Still didnt give us a lot of room to move around but it suited us fine for the time we were there. Room seemed to be recently updated which was nice. It is right off a metro stop and lots of places to eat nearby. I would stay here again. The staff was friendly and concierge helpful. Would have been nice if their pillows werent so big, I had to sleep without one for 3 nights.

  • The location was great. Republic square was a happening spot with cafes that stayed open and busy almost all night. Lots of close restaurants, cafes, patisseries, metro access, activity. Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, in Europe. Has accomodations which Americans are used to, in an elegant setting. Our room was spacious and overlooked the square on the third floor. No mention has been made of the large center courtyard with lots of unused lounge chairs and patio tables on a deck. It is a quiet getaway from the street to relax in the sun.

  • Stayed at this Holiday Inn for 7 days in October. Staff was excellent, everyone was very courteous and accomodating. Clean room and bathroom and excellent cleaning service. The room we stayed in had large windows that faced the street behind Place de la Republic, so we looked out onto two hotels and an apartment building across the street, which was fine as was quiet. Only had one issue while staying and it was with our room keys, which seemed to be an issue for several guests while we were staying - key would not work to unlock room doors Young woman and man at front desk were very apologetic and solved issue right away. Location is great as Place de Republic is a main stop on several Metro lines (entrance to Metro is less than 5 minute walk from hotel) and is in good walking distance for almost all major sites. Im a walker so my BF and I only took the Metro when we headed to Eiffel Tower as we enjoyed walking the city. Safe location - security guard posted in lobby at all times. If I return alone, I would definitely stay at this hotel. In terms of food nearby, hotel is located in a place with several restaurants and cafes right across the place or down the block. Also, there is a Monoprix (supermarket) about a 10 minute walk away.Loved, LOVED this location. Feel like I got more bang for my buck than I had anticipated. Recommend to solo travelers, couples, and business travelers. Cant wait to go back - will def be staying here.

  • I read the reviews and saw the pictures, and was seriously dissapointed in the qaulity of this hotel, it is NOT a 4 star hotel, at best a 1 or 2. The room was tiny and old and very rundown, there were roaches in the bathroom. We paid 400 a night and it was so not worth it! The front desk was not helpfull and I didnt care for the location, the only convenence was the metro because it was close.(study the maps,it can be complicated) This was my first trip to Paris and I really wanted the hotel to be nice and it was not.

  • The comfortor on the bed and the tub were wonderful. The room was large for Europe. We walked everywhere, exept to take the subway to CDG. Good food close by-we did not eat here. The price was great.

  • This hotel was perfect for our ""girls weekend"" trip. We were surprised by two double beds that were fairly comfortable, because we expected little twin beds. The window opened up onto a fenced in ledge that looked out over the street. Definitely not noisy when the window was closed. However, we had issues controlling room temperature, so we left the window open often. English television channels were a little lacking, but slightly expected. Staff was very courteous and accomodating. We didnt eat the seriously expensive breakfast. (22 euros is really expensive when you think how many American dollars that is!) We opted to hit the fabulous bakery on the corner for croissants. (Warning: Bakery only open Mon.-Fri. to our dismay!) Only cleaning issue was that there were several hairs stuck to the wall in the bathroom upon check in, and they remained there throughout our stay. Watch out for the elevator doors, they close fast and hard. Extremely convenient to Metro, we took it everywhere. Overall, a great hotel!

  • This hotel is located within yards of a major metro station (5 lines!). It made travel to and from any place in Paris incredibly convenient. The hotel itself was lovely. The room was huge by the standards of other European hotels we have seen. It was absolutely clean.There was no view to speak of as the windows were too high to actually look out but the room was light and airy. We never really noticed the lack of a view. (We were on the 4th (top) floor.The staff was so helpful even though our attempts at speaking French were pitiful.There are so many restaurants of different types within walking distance of the hotel. This was especially important as we were exhausted by the time we finished sightseeing and did not want to trek back to any other neighborhood. We felt safe walking around in the evening.We would definitely recommend this hotel and would, in fact, stay there again.

  • Our family of four stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was conveniently located right outside of the metro station which made travel to all the ""hot spots"" very easy. Although this was not in the ""center"" of it all it, it was still a busy place with restaurants and stores. The main reason we booked here was because it was able to accomodate our family with two double beds. There are not many hotels in Europe that will house more than two people in a room. This made it very appealing to us. And we also took advantage of the pay in advance rate which was great and didnt make it feel like we were breaking the bank. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The beds and pillows were not too comfortable. They could improve on that. And our room was quite a walk from the elevator. It would have been nice to be a little closer. If we ever travel to Paris again though, we would stay here again.
