  • Ive stayed in several hotels in NYC and this is my new favorite. Entire hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quite large by NY standards. It was also ready for us when we arrived at 10:30 AM. Only complaint would be the small bathroom, but how much time does one spend in the bathroom? I will be staying here again as soon as possible!

  • Ive stayed in several hotels in NYC and this is my new favorite. Entire hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quite large by NY standards. It was also ready for us when we arrived at 10:30 AM. Only complaint would be the small bathroom, but how much time does one spend in the bathroom? I will be staying here again as soon as possible!

  • My husband and I stayed at the Benjamin for our 5th wedding anniversary for a trip. When we checked in we were told that the hotel was slow so they would upgrade us. We told them that we were celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary so she gave us a 1 bedroom with a verandah. We were very happy with the room. It was very clean and housekeeping was wonderful. The only slight complaint I have is that the bathrooms were rather small. It was impossible for two people to be in there at one time. No counter space near the sink to place personal items. Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.

  • I picked this hotel based on these reviews and it held true all that was said, this is a GREAT hotel with the friendliest staff- we were spending a family weekend with our two teenage daughters and had a great stay!- The rooms are so comfortable and CLEAN- the pillow selection is amazing and you feel completely catered to all the time. The kitchen with refrigerator is excellent- we filled it with drinks and snacks. It was perfect! Everyone is so nice and J- is one of the most attentive and charming- and (he has that Eddie Murphy smile) the asst mgr was very attentive as were all of the girls that worked in the conierge. Location is great-near everything. We are going back very soon!!!You will be happy to stay here.

  • This hotel was great! It was in a great location for everything we wanted to do on our first trip to New York. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly.   • The room was very spacious (not the norm for NYC), very clean. The staff was very eager to help, and very attentive. The location was unbeatable. The 1 bedroom suite sleeps 3 very comfortable, the kitchen is very convenient. Greal place to stay in NYC.

  • This was one of many trips to NYC, but maybe the best ever hotel and Ive stayed at the Waldorf (just across the street). The lobby is small and the elevators seem a little small, but once youre in your room, its really a small slice of paradise. One of the most comfortable beds that Ive slept in. With a selection of pillows that Ive never even heard of - they let you choose whatever pillow you want and bring it to you. Just a short walk to Rockefeller. Have an apple at the front desk too. Its worth every cent!

  • Its unbelievable how a hotel rated like that can offer a 4 people accommodation with a terrible sofa bed that nobody can sleep.It is a shame. Too much money. The room wasnt ready at 4:00PM to check in. Next day room service wasnt done at 6:00.What else can I say about it? Stay away &&&&

Theyre all about pillows, so if thats an area of interest for you, youll be in heaven. It was a novelty for me, frankly. The gym is surprisingly well-appointed for a hotel, and I used it twice. Thank you for that!There are plenty of little breakfast and lunch places in the neighborhood if you prefer not to pay the hefty room service charges and robust restaurant menu prices. I hope to stay at this property again.

  • The hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent. Walking distance to everything. The room was lovely and housekeeping was exceptional. I really loved the pillow menu. The staff was accomodating and friendly. The night bellman was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the room service. We ordered breakfast the night before to be delivered to our room at 6:30 am. When it did not arrive by 6:40 we called to inquire where it was and were told it was on its way. When it still had not arrived at 6:50 we called again and were told they never had an order for us. We were put on hold and when they came back on the line we were told it had already been delivered. When we told them we did not have it they said they would look into it and call us back. They called back a few minutes later and told us that our breakfast had been delivered to the people in the room next to ours who signed for it. They offered to bring us something else so we ordered two continental breakfasts. After it had not arrived within 1/2 hour, we canceled it since we had to leave for the FDNY Graduation on the other side of town. I would definately stay at the Benjamin again but management needs to look into the Room Service issues.

  • The Benjamin is a small hotel, on a excelent neighbohood, close to everything-boutiques on Madison and Fifth,best restaurants and bars.The service is kind and attemptive,the rooms are small, as well are the bathrooms,from an old construction,but still is a nice choice for the visitors to this terrific Town.

  • Stayed 2 nights for a conference in the Waldorf, which is directly across the street. The rooms were exceptionally large for a NY hotel, even had a kitchenette area. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom decent size, but vanity small. Staff was very friendly, did not use the hotel restaurant, but room service was very prompt. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

  • The hotel was great, unfortunately the UN was in town and traffic (car, pedistrian, and taxi) was difficult -- Not to mention the the normally reliable NYC subway closed down the N or 6 lines for a day. The hotel staff was excellent and the room was comfortable and quiet -- even on the 15th floor NYC is normall a bit load, but much quieter then other hotels in the area. Location is a comfortable walk from local pubs and great restaurants. I would definitely goback to the Benjamin. PS there is a great NYC Diner (the) around the corner for carry out, or walk to a local restaurant for $5.95 breakfast buffet. Ave money on breakfast so you can drop it on a few drinks at the Plaza.

  • I stayed at The Benjamin for business in Feb 2008 (yes, Im just getting around to writing a review). I stayed 4 nights and was very pleased. The room was confortable and had the amenities that I required for my business trip - one exception was that their printer was old enough that I couldnt get the correct drivers so no print. However, the concierge was kind enough to printed my documents. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, a decent size for NYC, and had a small fridge. The hotel is nicely located and has abundant restaurants and shopping near by. It is a train ride to Time Square and the Theatre District or a nice walk, if youre up for it.The staff was courteous and professional. The General Manager greeted guests in the lobby at dinner time and invited them upstairs for a cocktail - a nice touch. The staff also assited me in getting my luggage (the airline misrouted it). The restaurant was good - good food, decent service, but typical hotel pricing (higher than the local restaurants). This is not a 5-Star hotel but it is a good one. With the package price that I received through online travel website , The Benjamin was an excellent value. I recommend it and will put it in the top 5 of my NYC hotels.

  • At check-in we were bumped up to King bed suite with microwave and fridge w/o asking. Front desk was great all weekend. Concierge extremely helpful with getting us started daily in the right direction. They have over 12 complementary pillow choices which you can switch out at any time, very nice. Even though it was 26c outside we had the a/c on in the room. it was warm in the room and then the unit froze over. maintenance was swift and front desk ALWAYS called to confirm we were happy (a/c,pillows,towels). avoid ""white noise machine"" they offer -no good. Great location, walk to anywhere, and we did, and 6 train across the street.A bunch of Irish pubs 2 blocks on 3rd. Steaks just 1 block and a nice diner. We definetly would come back.

  • My husband and I spent 5 glorious days in New York and The Benjamin was perfectly located to travel by subway, on foot or by taxi to all of the wonderful sights New York has to offer. The hotel is staffed by friendly and helpful people. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. Having a kitchenette was a real bonus and we appreciated that convenience. All in all a great place to hang your hat in New York, we would go back again in a New York minute....thanks for helping to make our trip so very memorable.

  • Loved this hotel. Fabulous location, and the suites were great for familieis--plenty of room, nice ameities, nicely furnished. Only complaint was that from our booking information and confirmed in person when we checked in, the hotel knew we had a group of three people (myself, husband and our teenage son) . We had booked a one bedroom suite with pull-out sleep-sofa. We discovered late at night when we arrived back from dinner that the room had no sheets, blanket or pillows for the sleep-sofa---you have to call the front desk for them. When we called, the front desk told us it would be at least a 45 minute wait. It wwas at least that long, maybe more. Would think they could provide the linens upon check-in if they dont want to leave them in the room, or have the room made up in the evening, or at a minimum tell us upon check-in that we need to call to request the linens.

  • Great location. The staff could not have been better! The rooms were up-to-date. We really enjoyed have a refridgerator and microwave in the kitchenette. We will definitely stay her again. There are two easy and casual dining options on the same block (diners) if you dont want fancy food or if you have children.

The Hotel was very clean. The rooms are very comfortable. We had a room on the 20th floor that had a 15 foot balcony overlooking the city. The location of the Hotel was within walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Park Ave, 5th Ave., Central Park, Garment district, Diamond district. The number 6 subway was across the street to take you to Chinatown and Little Italy. We will surely be back to stay with them again.
