  • We had a great time, the location was great and the weather was wonderful - which maybe influenced everything else. I had read some negative reviews about the hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Our room was great (dont use the costly refrigerator) and we had a good view of the river. There is no pool at the hotel so if you want that it wouldnt be a good choice but we wanted to walk around the city and the location was great. We didnt use the restaurants at the hotel so cant say if they were good or not. We will be returning next summer and would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a great time, the location was great and the weather was wonderful - which maybe influenced everything else. I had read some negative reviews about the hotel but was pleasantly surprised. Our room was great (dont use the costly refrigerator) and we had a good view of the river. There is no pool at the hotel so if you want that it wouldnt be a good choice but we wanted to walk around the city and the location was great. We didnt use the restaurants at the hotel so cant say if they were good or not. We will be returning next summer and would definitely stay here again.

I came a couple of hours earlier and asked if I could check in. I was told by her that the hotel is full and I had to wait for 3 hours. I kind of did not feel she was honest and decided to ask another receptionist. In 5 minutes I was in my room. Similar thing happened at the end of my stay. I tried to contact the parking for my car, which was difficult; busy signal. Then I decided to ask a receptionist for help. I happen to meet the ""first"" one again. She told me that they were very busy and I had to go to the underground parking and take my car myself. I went downstairs but there was no one there. So I returned and asked another receptionist, who took care of it immediately and my car was at the front door in 15 minutes.I realize am too picky with this one person and know she does not represent the hotel, but I wish it did not happen. Overall good service.

Having said that...its like two hotels. The West Tower is the best. Easier to navigate, less traffic, quieter and much nicer views of the river and lake. The views are incredible.....Navy Pier and a full moon and way below the moon, over Lake Michigan....lightening! The rooms and bathrooms are only a 3 not 4 star. The beds are heavenly though. Not enough shelf space in bathroom. Not enough drawer space at all. The floor to ceiling windows are brilliant and the draperies are really thick and block out all daylight until you want it. Staff is very friendly.

  • This was a quick trip for us to Chicago. The staff was very friendly from the moment we walked in the door. Quick, easy check-in, very helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • While the hotel is geared to conventions, we had a great time. The location is incredible. Central to Art Museum, Michigan Ave (Magnificent Mile shopping), Hancock building and Navy Pier. Inexpensive taxi ride along the lake to Field Museum, Aquarium, and Museum of Science and Industry. Long walk to Sears Tower. Many family-friendly restaurants within walking distance. Coffee/pastry bar in the lobby was great for quick breakfast on the go or anytime snack for the kids. They had full coffee/tea line along with pastries, juices, milk, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. The hotel gave us a room with a king size bed and a fold out sofa. It was more than enough room for two adults and two kids. Wonderful view of the river and the Hancock building. We will recommend this hotel.

  • Our ""Junior suite"" had no view and in the morning there was no hot water for taking a shower. The bathroom did not have a tub, only a stand up shower (which was true for all three bathrooms that we used in the hotel.) The stand up shower wouldnt have been so bad, but there was no place to put your shampoo, razor, or other items except for the floor of the shower. And everytime you finished showering you would step out on to a very sopping-wet floor (as the water would leak out on to the floor if you didnt constantly watch to make sure the shower curtain liner was inside the shower basin). As for not having hot water, the hotel was quick to send up someone to work on the problem, while we sat in our pajamas, but I had to request to take a shower somewhere else before they offered us another room to shower in so we wouldnt be late for our appointment. They did, however, give us a better room (after my request for it) and the new room had a spectacular view. The next morning we had to wait for hot water again. It took about 10minutes of running the water before it became hot enough to shower in. The bathroom in the new room was smaller and also had the same stand-up-shower problems. Parking at the hotel costs about $2 per hour which cost us an additional $150 for three nights. We searched the area for cheaper parking, but everywhere we searched would not let you park all night long. However, the valet was a nice feature if you can afford it. The staff, especially at the front desk, was extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent location, just off the magnificent mile.

Theres a charge of $13 per day for wireless internet access. The mini bar is rigged so that you cant put your own items in it or move anything. A charge of $25/day will be added on to your bill if you do. When we were ready to leave on Sunday morning, we had to wait for 15 minutes to get an elevator ride down from our 9th floor room. The only way we were able to do that was to push the ""up"" button and then travel down eventually.Overall - I felt as if Hyatt was nickel and diming me. I wont stay at a Hyatt again if there are other options available.

  • We had the most wonderful view of the city and the river from our window. Our bed faced the city so we went to sleep with the city lights....it was awsome. We got a really good price on the room and it was a great surprise weekend for my husband....the concier was kind and I recommend seeing the Blue Man Group as we did...awsome show. The BIG bar was fun and the drink prices were not above average. Overall wonderful time.

  • Two couples first time to Chicago. Had a blast doing all the tourist stuff. Loved the hotel...prices for room service seemed high. Dont understand why theres an escalator leading to the lobby to check in. Seems very dangerous. Anyway...the last night there I lost my balance and tumbled down the escalator, hitting my head very hard. No one in the lobby came to my rescue. I went to bed in very bad pain. They should only have elevators.

  • My 25 year old daughter and I were in town for a few days. Never having been to Chicago we weren't sure what to see. The hotel staff was very helpful and we felt safe walking outside any time of day. The close proximity to Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier was great.

  • The Hyatt-Regengy on Wacker Drive is great. The service is top class, and this hotel is close to every thing in the downtwon Chicago area. The bar and the restaurants in the hotel are also high class, specially Stentsons steak house.

  • The Hyatt-Regengy on Wacker Drive is great. The service is top class, and this hotel is close to every thing in the downtwon Chicago area. The bar and the restaurants in the hotel are also high class, specially Stentsons steak house.

  • Great Hotel, Great Location! We walked to many attractions. There are day passes for public transportation for sale at the hotel but they sell out quickly. The Art museum is free on thursday evenings. Friendly staff, helpful. Maids forgot to clean the room the last night but otherwise service was good. The AC in the room did not work but weather was good. Overall, a nice vacation.

Issues: no variety of restuarants and the ones there arent that great, room service is over-priced/unavailable after a certain time, and if you need to eat late or just want some snacks, have to walk to the Walgreens around the corner. Valet takes FOREVER. Location makes up for its shortcomings since youre so close to everything, always easy to get a cab.

  • I paid considerably more for a suite. The suite ended up being a single larger room. The reservation was made for 2 adults and 1 child. The 1 child did not show on the reservation with the Hyatt. They blamed the ""third party."" I had to argue for a roll out bed at no cost. The so called ""suite"" was directly across from an ice machine. The walls had no sound insulation and the entrance door had spacing all the way around it. Sounded like people getting ice in our room all night. We could not determine whether furniture in room was outdated from the 70s or intended to be a new retro look. Some of it was broken. Call front desk upon arrival and let them know cabinet covering mini-refrigerator fall off when you open it. No one showed up over the course of our three dat stay to fix.   • I paid considerably more for a suite. The suite ended up being a single larger room. The reservation was made for 2 adults and 1 child. The 1 child did not show on the reservation with the Hyatt. They blamed the ""third party."" I had to argue for a roll out bed at no cost. The so called ""suite"" was directly across from an ice machine. The walls had no sound insulation and the entrance door had spacing all the way around it. Sounded like people getting ice in our room all night. We could not determine whether furniture in room was outdated from the 70s or intended to be a new retro look. Some of it was broken. Call front desk upon arrival and let them know cabinet covering mini-refrigerator fall off when you open it. No one showed up over the course of our three dat stay to fix.   • Hotel staff was great and room was good. Only drawback was the hotel offered us an upgrade for extra $* a night. Upgraded room was not much better than the original room so it wasnt really worth the extra money. Staff was really helpful especially the concierge staff. Would recommend this hotel for the price we got through online travel website.

  • I loved the scenic views from this hotel I was on the 29th floor with a river view. The parking price is outrageous it is cheaper to use continental express from the airport(s) to the hotel. If you want to shop all the nice stores are in walking distance of the hotel and dont forget to stop by the Hershey?s chocolate factory store. If you have a notebook computer I would advise you to bring it along this hotel charges $15 dollars for 7mins of computer time that must be used all at once. Also the business center opens at 6am and closes at 7pm after that you are on your own. The rooms are very nice the hotel has 42"" flat screen TV?s in each room they also provide a place for an IPOD. Do not put any thing in the refrigerator they will charge you twenty five dollars if you do. Also be sure to bring your cameras for those photo shot moments. The hotel charges around $22 for an instant camera with 27exposures. I have one other suggestion if you love pizza Ginos East of Chicago. Hope the review helps happy hotel hunting.

  • Second time to Chicago. First trip cost me more than twice as much at another hotel and gave a lot less. This hotel was fantastic. From the front desk on. Asked if my room had a view and was told no. Given option to upgrade and gladly took it. The view was breathtaking from the West Tower, 19th Floor. River to Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and beyond. The hotel was clean, quiet and secure. Staff was actually nice and accomodating. Two blocks from Michigan Avenue, right on the river. The location cannot be beat. Will be back without hesitation. Thanks to Collin at the Front Desk! The view was better than promised. This hotel exceeded my expectations.

  • We got a great price and the location is solid - right on Wacker with views of the river, very near Michigan. Easy walk to Mag Mile.Friendly doormen, bellmen and counter staff. Very accomodating and helpful Concierge made great recommendations for restaurants.DO NOT EAT DOWNSTAIRS - to be fair, we didnt try the steak house (looked okay) but the food at the ""bistro"" in the lobby was terrible and overpriced. Worst meal of our trip - burgers appear to be kept in a warming drawer - served too quickly to be cooked to order and very dry. Chicken sandwich was mostly bread. soup was luke warm at best. Would recommend McDonalds over this option (and I hate fast food).Room only appears clean. When we walked into our room we thought it looked great. When the shower was used we noticedthe tub was not very clean (even had someone elses hairs in it). The night stands hadnt been dusted in quite some time, neither had the black alarm clock sitting on one of them (alarm will hold iPod - nice option). Dissapointing to say the least. The room was not disgusting, it just wasnt really clean - quick surface celan (if you overlook teh dust).While I would stay here again, Id know not to eat downstairs and to look for a clean room at check in.

  • My husband and I traveled to Chicago for a Cardinals vs. Cubs game. We picked this hotel because of the location and the previous reviews. We found the hotel very nice and the service and staff wonderful. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel. The restaurant/bar pricing seemed a little high but I think it was comparable to other restaurants in the area. The food was really good but not excellent but the convenience of the restaurants being located in the hotel was worth the extra money. We really enjoyed the piano bar, Daddy Os. The piano player was great and it was a nice relaxing evening after a huge win against the Cubs. Go Cardinals!!!!

  • THE HOTEL IS NICE OVERALL BUT IS BIG AND IMPERSONAL. THE BIG BAR HAS A GREAT VIEW OF THE WRIGLEY BUILDING AND OTHER BUILDINGS TO THE NORTH. IT IS LOCATED IN A VERY NICE AREA OF TOWN THOUGH IT IS 7 BLOCKS FROM THE BLUE LINE FROM OHARE. THE WALK UP WACKER DRIVE TOWARD THE LAKE WAS BRUTALLY WINDY. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY BUT SOMETIMES SLOW DFUE TO THE SHEER NUMBERS OF PEOPLE STAYING THERE. THERE IS A STEADY STREAM OF PEOPLE CHECKING IN AND OUT. THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND NICELY DECORATED. AT 200 BUCKS A NIGHT, I EXPECTED FREE WI FI IN THE ROOM BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. BILLING WAS THRU SOME AGENCY WHO DID NOT TELL YOU THE PRICE UNLESS YOU AGREED TO THE SERVICE.

  • I stood at this hotel during the weekend of the bears and saints, this place was rocking, i love the atmoshere from the bar to the club to the gym there was a conference there too and it was the place to be the room were nice the beds were comfortable bathroom was ok but overall great experience i will def. come back big time highly recommend
