  • The Caley is an old Victorian hotel which has been updated without losing the charm. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This a truly a 5 start hotel but it is comfortable and not pretentious. Location is just below Edinburgh Castle. The Castle is a healthy but not insurmountable walk from the hotel. Breakfast is amazing. Two rooms of food from which to select plus the ability to order eggs, french toast and other breakfast goodies. We took advantage of their prepaid B&B offer. I thought wed get a tiny room on the 5th floor. Instead we got a lovely very large room on the 3rd floor. View was overlooking the car park but it got lots of sun and the windows opened.Only suggestion would be for the hotel to find a way to install a bathroom night light. We would stay here again, especially if they offered their B&B program.
