  • This is very much a family oriented hotel , providing affordable accomodations and lovely poolside activities for all. The unit we stayed in was a one bedroom suite, with a galley kitchen, living room flatscreen TV , large bedroom w/TV and two small terraces with views of the bay.And although its a great place for families, it also has pool space thats a bit more private for couples. Great location too, within walking to almost everything.

  • Hotel was clean and staff very friendly. Located within walking distance of many stores and some shopping, to include a McDonalds and Subway for cheap snacks instead of the high priced food surrounding the hotel. Very accomodating staff and would highly recommend this hotel. Avoid the beach however in midday. Vendors are so dense you hardly have space to relax!

  • First, The hotel wants you to wear a plastic wrist band for the entire stay to identify you as a guest of the hotel. Second, I rented the largest suite they have and they would not allow two friends to come up for drinks prior to going to dinner, because they were not guest of the hotel. Third, the breakfast buffet was over $* a person and they did not have toast, sausage or bacon. Fourth, they offer money exchange for your safety as long as it is no $* or more. Fifth, My room was on the Seventh floor and the club was very loud next door until 4:00 am in the morning. Sixth, The bill included charges for a donation to a charity and maid tips, I prefer to tip based on service. Seven, when these issues were pointed out to the staff they did not care.

  • Pathetic and unreliable, incompetent service. The security of this hotel is aggressively nasty. They require that all guests wear a wrist bracelet as you would at the local state fair. If not, you might be escorted to the door even with your belongings in your room. Pool security is in cahoots with the local police to have certain guests on the beach targeted for extortion. Instead of the local people being appreciative of US tourism, they are targeting us tourists for money extortion. Way too much corruption at this hotel. The local ATM machine in the lobby owned by Banamex erroneously advised me that I had exceeded my daily withdrawl limit (not true) and then deducted $300 from my account without notifying me or giving me cash. My bank is assisting me with the dispute and the hotel takes no ownership nor shows any concern for The guests by even putting an ""out of order"" notice on the ATM. This hotel uses a swamp cooler instead of air conditioner so all your money, papers and clothes feel like they have been floating in water at the end of the day with the mell of mold. Do not stay here. Do not go to Acapulco! There are literally police every 20 feet outside with shot guns. Its like being in the middle of a warzone- I was appauled at what I saw and how uncomfortable I felt not to mention the desperate, thieves lurking around waiting to robb you of your last dime.. including the police. And they dont care. Their attitude is ""to hell with you, we dont need you- we do things OUR way"". I have been to Acapulco 11 times and stayed at Fiesta Americana 8 of the 11 times. Its not the same anymore. Go to Rio de Janeiro!

  • This was honestly one of the best times of my life...the hotel was perfect; steps right to the beach and pool, room service is great as well (i wanted a pizza at 1am and roomservice opened the kitchen just for us....pizza was great by the way)Location of the hotel was perfect; clubs, restaurants and activities close by.Only thing that was pretty annoying was the vendors on the beach but hey this happens where ever you go, people need their money so cope with it, either buy something or smile and say no so you could move on with your day.HOTEL was great and made my vacation even better....Thanks Fiesta youll see us AGAIN!!!

  • I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Acapulco. The place is in a great location, very clean, friendly staff, good food, beautiful pools, great balcony views, whirlpool tubs, kitchens in the ""villas"" for late night munchies, small beach but very nice, except for the beggars. I however would never book through Travelocity as they promoted a room that does not exist in this hotel. If I were shy I would have been angry to share a bed with another grown man. However I had no problem because I stayed on the beach most of the time.

  • We just came back from Acapulco and the Fiesta Americana and had a Great Time. Our room was clean with a fab view of the beach and bay! Staff was polite and many spoke at least some english. Did not eat at any of the resturants so I dont have an opinion of them. Did use the pool bars and the service was friendly but pricy (as to be expected at a resort). Starbucks is right next door to hotel as are a bunch of resturants and an OXXO(mexican 7-11). The only thing we noticed which was not as advertised was there was No adult-only pool. The hotel has its own entrace to the beach and its own chairs and cabanas. There are staff down there that can get food and drinks and run a tab but the beach is public and there are a lot of vendors who can become tiresome. Overall a great place! Our kids loved it! BEWARE OF CROOKED TOUR SELLERS AT AIRPORT!!! When you exit customs at the airport theres an office which I mistook for the transportation desk. They tried to sell me tours which I had no intrest in. I ended up just buying a RT transportation from the airport from him and had a recipt. One hour before check out he calls my room and tells me Ill have to pay ANOTHER $30.00 US if I want to go back to the airport. I went and got a cab off the street which was cheaper. This guy had on a Mayan Village or Palace shirt as did all the staff in that office. Do yourselfs a favor and avoid that office and ANYONE SELLING TOURS AT THE AIRPORT, walk down 30 more feet and youll find the REAL taxi and shuttle bus!

  • the pictures and description of this hotel is accurate except for the fact that the staff speaks very good english especially at the front desk where it is essential. the only problem we encounter is that we had a room with a awesome view of the pool/beach strip etc and the disco noise 1-5 am toooooo loud and we were switched rooms without any hassles! the location of this hotel is great to avoid alot of taxi rides and etc money wasted a lot of good spots to eat/drink walking distance the following recommended: tacos & beer, betos, paradise, 100% natural, and el zorritos (a little further but well worth it awesome)

  • I had a truly wonderful time at peak season at this luxury resort. The staff was very plesant and bi-lingual. The grounds are perfectly situated on hotel row and next to many restaurants and night time music/dance venues incl. bungy jumping for those so brave! I cannot comment on the resort food b/c I chose to eat out (more on that to follow...) but the hotel offered everything from brick oven pizza to full BBQ buffet at poolside. And the pools (multiple) were wonderful, some hidden and the large pool receives plenty of sun. The beach access has a sand bar that extends 10 feet out, and has cabanas. I would say to be prepared for locals to sell you everything from jewlery to food, so ask the hotel security to post a person outside of your cabana if you dont want to be disturbed. There are grocery stores i.e Walmart, Super Gigante nearby for alcohol/foods and directly accessable by cab ($3 US one way) or 4-5 peso by local bus at front of hotel. As for those who want to be away from the disco side of the hotel, ask for a room with a southern view, you will have just as pretty view off the deck and only street sounds & crashing waves to hear. Also not much of a spring break crowd in Acapulco, mostly Euros, Mexico City locals, in the know Americans, please visit over Cancun, PV, and Cabo!! I would and plan to go back over and over again!!

  • We are a mid-30s couple, no kids. We like to have fun; we are not the romantic type. To us this hotel was perfect, lots of music, lots of people, 3 swimming pools, crowded beach, bars all around, Carlos & Charlie?s across the street, Starbucks downstairs, bangie jumping a few steps down, dozens of restaurants all around. We walked everywhere. Absolutely no need for a car in Acapulco. Taxis are really cheap, and the only times we needed one was from/to the airport ($ 10) and to see the divers at ?La Quebrada? ($ 8 and the driver waited for us). The restaurants at the hotel are good, but there is so much more to do around that we only eat there a couple of times. Serving sizes are much smaller in Acapulco, but still more than enough. We were quite surprised by the prices of drinks everywhere. Coronas were more expensive than in America and Margaritas were $8. All rooms have sea-view. The SPA is great and the prices truly good! Had some of the best massages there. There are also ladies offering massages at the beach and they are really good! You have to pay extra ($10/day) to use the gym and steam room, but if you have a treatment you can use the facilities. At the beach, be aware of people trying to sell you everything. You can ask the hotel security to keep them away from your gazebo, or just say ?no gracias? 100 times a day. We would definitely go back to this hotel anytime. I walked miles paying attention to other hotels and wouldnt want to stay anywhere else. If you are after a romantic time, you might want to look into more remote hotels (there are many!)

  • I loved my week here this March. Most of the remodeling was done, and the place is beautiful, the location on a rise over the ocean was breathtaking, and the staff was constantly helpful, happy, and available. It was remarkably affordable, the food and drinks were cheap, and the room was glamorous (just the studio). Everyone wanted to make our visit perfect.

  • 45 MINUTE CHECK IN WITH ONE FRONT DESK CLERK. REQUESTED KING BED AWAY FROM THE ELEVATOR. GOT DOUBLE BED NEXT TO THE ELEVATOR. LOUDEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. ONE SIDE FROM THE STREET TRAFFIC THE OTHER FROM THE CLUB NOISE. I HAD TO KEEP THE SLIDING DOOR TO THE BALCONY CLOSED AT ALL TIMES. THEY ADVERTISE PRIVATE POOL FOR ADULTS, THAT DOESNT EXIST. TRAVELER BEWARE THIS HOTEL IS LIKE AN OLD DIVA TRYING TO HOLD ON TO ITS GLORY DAYS. NEVER AGAIN...

  • We just came back from a week here. The description is really inaccurate and needs correcting. But ... the renovations are done, the property is stunning, the location is unbeatable and the rooms are beautiful. But best of all is the staff. Friendly and helpful at every turn, everyone greeted us. People watch their children, who have their own pool and pool areas. The place has endless private nooks, and everywhere things are new, clean, with a spectacular view.

  • My family stayed at this hotel Jan 7-10 2009, I have two young children (1&2 years old) and I loved it. I loved that everything was nearby (restaurants & beach). I took my double stroller to walk thru the streets(which helped a lot). We did take the taxi to see the divers ""la quebrada"" & ceces (a water park, which has a dolfin show). Just make sure you walk a little away from the hotel to get taxis because the taxis in front charge more. We recieved very good service at the hotel & I would highly recommend.
