- My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Doubletree Metropolitan in Manhattan. The best feature of the hotel is the location. Once we got to the hotel we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go - MoMA, St. Peters Cathedral, Carnegie Hall, dining, etc. The concierge provided a great choice for a diner a few blocks away that serves breakfast all day. We both agreed they served the best eggs & pancakes we had ever had. The rooms were nicely decorated and very clean. The cleaning people did not bother us when we had our do not disturb sign on our door. The beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there during my next trip to NYC.

- My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Doubletree Metropolitan in Manhattan. The best feature of the hotel is the location. - Took a whirlwind trip to New York City for the first time. Hotel is located in a great location, close to many sight seeing attractions, but far enough away to be out of the crowds. Subway station was right at the corner for very easy access. Times Square, St. Patricks Cathedral, Central Park all within walking distance. Nice little eatery right next door and the best warm chocolate chip cookies when you check in. The room and bathroom were a little small for three adults, but for two nights it was okay. The beds were very comfortable and the tv was a nice flatscreen. The only complaint about the room was the temperature. The air did not work very well and the room was very warm and stuffy. We opened the window, didnt help much for the bed away from the window. Staff at the front desk during check in seemed a little frazzled. It was crowded and seemed to have too many bosses behind the main desk and not enough worker bees. Overall we had a good experience. Would probably try another hotel if I visited again, but would recommend and stay again. The bellman out front, was very friendly, professional, as well as entertaining as we waited for our airport shuttle. You could tell he likes his job and is good at it.

- The staff is great, the hotel clean and comfortable, good location, but when booking through travel website, Doubletree will not award reward points for the stay. The hotel staff did not mention that the lower rate could be given by Doubletree and points awarded; but, Ive found since my stay that that can be done, if you call before booking. If I get points, Id stay again, if not, I wont. I like the Lexington Avenue area. Also, the room does not have a coffee/tea pot or refrigerator.

- The location was great. The subway is right beside the hotel. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. My husband and I stayed in a room with a queen bed. The bathroom was tiny. I dont know if the bathrooms are a different size in other rooms, but we would probably call and ask that question before we stay again.

- I would stay at this Doubletree again. Our daughter was participating in the Rockette Summer Intensive classes at Radio City and this was very convenient for us. The hotel is located on the corner of 51st and Lexington Ave. and she needed to go to the stage door entrance on 51st street so it was an easy walk up 51st Street (about 3.5 blocks) and in a nice part of town. The staff at the Doubletree was very helpful and friendly. They acutally allowed us to check-in at 10:30 am instead of 3:00. One night we needed a light bulb for a lamp in our room and after calling they were there in less than 15 minutes with one. The hotel does not have a pool, but does have a fitness center. Also the hotel seems to have a mixture of business travelers as well as families and groups. We did not eat in the restaurant however the metro cafe is right next door and was a nice place to get a quick bite. Also the subway is on the corner. Lots of nicer places to eat close by. Very nice and convenient place to stay while in New York City!!!

- For this trip, I traveled with my boyfriend to meet up with friends and see a Yankees game for the July 4th holiday.The Check-In: Checking In was not difficult. There are also kiosks on the side of the lobby to check-in yourself. I checked in at the front desk. I wasnt given a warm chocoalte chip cookie, as is customary at Doubletree as a welcome. I did ask for 2 cookies later and I was given warm cookies. I did notice that on one day the computer went down and so there was along line for check-in. travellers got a bit rowdy (mostly Red Sox fans- LOL). people were given a bottle of water while they waited. It was a tense check-in scene! The room:We booked a queen size bed but I bet it was a full-size bed. The most disappointing part of our stay was this: we couldnt get our shower water to drain propoerly and sometimes the water from the room next door would back up into our tub! GROSS! We did request a plumber and he came twice to fix the problem. It resolved itself the last night of our stay. Youre probably thinking why didnt we move? Well, the maid service told us that each room shared pipes with the room next door and this was a very common problem. My boyfriend was convinced that we could end up with the same problem in another room, and I decided that this wasnt an issue to push with him. After all, we had the City to explore and friends to be merry with! Staff was very friendly. I think Ill go back to the Roosevelt Hotel or try another hotel with this good location.

- Centrally located. About 8 blocks from Times Square and right next with the Subway system to ride uptown and downtown to other locations. Within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping.Nice rooms, good size, comfy bed. My only complaint would be that I thought that wifi internet was included in the room, but it was an additional $$ per 24 hr period.

- There was no airconditioning in the rooms so it was warm. Windows do not open up very well no screen on them so could not leave open all the time. The Concierge did not commuicate that they were fees on our tickets we bought for a show. The price was doulbled. He told me tickets were 110.00 and later i noticed i was billed for 205.00 a ticket. He told me nothing about the fees. I think that is a rip-off!!!. The beds were nice & it was in a nice area.

- The room was spacious, large king bed with plenty of soft pillows. Staff was friendly and nice. Very quiet on our floor. They checked us in early. We got great tips on where to shop and eat. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. It was really close walking or driving to so much. Would return.

- This hotel is so nice and the rooms are large for NYC. There was one problem when we checked in. Our flight had been delayed by two days and I called and confirmed that our pre-paid reservation would still be good. When we got to the hotel, the girl said that we did not show up in the system. At the time, she did not clarify that we were still going to be able to stay there. She made it sound like we were going to have to pay again. By this time I was extremely exhausted and started to cry. The manager apologized for the miscommunication with the girl and even upgrade us to a king room. He told me I just needed a nap, which kind of irked me, but at least I got a bigger room. I loved the room. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and it was clean. The sub station was like 10 steps from the door. The concierge even walked us down to the sub booth to see if a train we were wanting to catch would pick us up on a Saturday . I thought that was really nice. It was just a beautiful hotel a few blocks from all the action, but back away from the action enough to allow you to have a nice, quiet good nights sleep. I will definitely stay here again.

- The subway was right there. You could easily walk to central park or times square if you wanted to. The good price was the deciding factor for me. The room was a little small but very clean. Everyone of the staff I met were friendly and helpful.

- Friends of ours had ordered a fruit and cheese basket to be delivered to our room. The gift basket service delivered it but it never got to our room.All the drains in the bathroom ran very slow.

- From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with big smiles and welcomes from all of the attendants that were present in the lobby. I felt like a celebrity!The dining hall was very clean and the hot breakfast was delicious each day. I will always remember the breakfast at the doubletree in New York. Thanks for making our trip a wonderful memory.

- I chose this hotel because of its 4* rating, and its affiliation with Hilton. However, this is no 4* hotel. The wallpaper was peeling both in the bathroom and bedroom, the bathtub caulk was loose and mildewed. When someone sat at the desk n you had to go over the bed to pass by. The bed was comfortable enough, but a bit saggy. The hall carpet was worn and dirty. The price included breakfast, which was fine, and a little unusual in NY. All in all, I would find another place for the next trip.

We look for hotels that are clean and quiet at the best price. This hotel did that. We would recomend it and we would stay again if the price is right

- The positive aspects: Good Location. Cleanliness. Doorman attentive.The negative aspects. Wi-fi didnt work in lobby or hotel room for most of our stay. The room was small and looked out over an alley. Front desk wouldnt give me my Hilton points because of the booking code. All in all, I wouldnt go back there.

- Would definately stay there again same time next year. Went to NYC with no set agenda but to have fun. Before we could get checked in the bellman had asked us what we liked to do, and then gave us more suggestions than we had time to experience. And every suggestion was an excellent choice for us. He definately knew the area well. Registration was less than 5 minutes. The warm cookie was a nice touch. The location was excellent, and we were able to travel by foot or just a short cab ride to most of the things we ended up doing. And for longer trips, the subway was right next door, or about 8 blocks to Grand Central Station. The negatives: Food was a bit expensive, but the cafe next door was reasonable for NYC, and tasted good.Room was very small, but we only needed the room for sleep, and once you experience that mattress, you realize that you dont care how small room is.No vent in the bathroom, so you have to crack the bathroom door during your shower.Had to pay to use the internet in the business center, so take your laptop and use the free WIFI at a cafe down the street.

- The location was excellent for our needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and my wife fell in love with the pillows. The only downside to our room was the bathroom. There is no exhaust fan in there, so the humidity has caused some plaster problems in the ceiling and some of the wallpaper to peel. Other than that, we totally enjoyed out stay!

- This hotel was one of the nicest weve stayed in in NYC. The room was large and well stocked. The staff was friendly, we even got warm cookies upon check-in. It was nice to have so many elevators so there wasnt wait time in and out of the room The hotel is right next to a subway, which made travel easy.

- This hotel was one of the nicest weve stayed in in NYC. The room was large and well stocked. The staff was friendly, we even got warm cookies upon check-in. It was nice to have so many elevators so there wasnt wait time in and out of the room The hotel is right next to a subway, which made travel easy.

- We arrived late Friday night, staff was efficient & friendly & of course the warm cookies were welcome. Our room was decent sized until we realized they had not yet set up the cot as requested. They did so immediately, and it was comfy according to our son, though it took up alot of the room. Even though we were on the second floor, we didnt have any problem w/street noise. Very nice exercise room.. Our bed was very comfy. The AC was not on yet (mid-March) but we were able to open the window so all was well. The TV was large, easy to use, good selection of channels. We had a few questions and the staff really was very helpful & pleasant. Excellent location: very near subway & sites & restaurants. Paid for one day of internet in our room (its free in the lobby) and otherwise the concierge was helpful.. As we were checking out, staff got us a town car for less than a taxi. Well definitely stay there again.

- Great midtown location, near Rockefeller Center and not far from Broadway / Times Square. Room I was in was average size and very comfortable. Shower had almost instant hot water and great water spray. WONDERFUL staff, friendly attitude. Excellent concierge desk. Almost didnt believe I was in NY, except for the food prices. Dont touch the mini-bar / refrigerator unless you want to be charged . . . hansomely. Room had excellent HD big screen TV. Beds very comfortable. NO continental breakfast, but hotel restaurant opened early. Plenty of other restaurant and deli choices nearby. Ask for rooms away from the elevator if you dont like much noise at night. Sounds a bit like the ocean, but might bother some folks. The elevators are some of the fastest of any hotel in which Ive ever stayed. Almost across the street from St. Patricks Cathedral and very near St. Barnabas, Episcopal. Have a good time.
