  • Location is great, close to White House, Metro. Van's Steakhouse a block away. Rooms were very good, clean, quiet, comfortable. People at desk were warm, friendly, helpful. Restaurant buffet is good but pricey. We would definitely stay again

  • This was a great hotel at a great value. A Metro stop was right across the street, and many of the attractions were in easy walking distance. We found that a lot of the restaurants close the hotel are closed on evenings and weekends, but we were able to a few good places. The room was large and comfortable for 3 of us. Overnight parking was expensive, but where in DC isnt it? I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

  • This was a great hotel at a great value. A Metro stop was right across the street, and many of the attractions were in easy walking distance. We found that a lot of the restaurants close the hotel are closed on evenings and weekends, but we were able to a few good places. The room was large and comfortable for 3 of us. Overnight parking was expensive, but where in DC isnt it? I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

  • My stay was for one night in DC. I wanted a hotel very close to the White House. The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown was very close to the WH and the accommodations were very nice. After a long day of traveling the bar tender was a delight and the hooch was excellent.The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The only downside for me was the bed was very soft. Linens and room were excellent.

  • This hotel was close to everything. You can walk or take the Metro. The Metro station is right across the street from the hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The food and drinks at the hotel were overpriced, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms are very comfortable.

  • The hotel is well-located,especially for getting to and from National Airport. There is a subway stop very near the hotel with a direct connection to the airport. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the coffee shop serving staff are not very responsive. One morning I finally had to go to the servers station to pour my coffee after being repeatedly ignored by wait staff. Breakfast buffet is OK.The room was spacious and nicely fitted.The business center is quite rudimentary.All in all, the hotel is a pretty good deal. You just might want to consider having breakfast somewhere else.

  • We spend the weekend with other family members and booked 3 double rooms, When we arrived there the front desk staff were horrible and disputed our reservation which was prepaid. One of the comments was "" well you booked with online travel website and did not book with us, so we have to to charge you extra. We are here to make money""!!We insisted an dthey made it right,The valet parking staff were also very slow to retrieve your car and had an attitude problem. So did the bartender.Overall comment about the staff is that they have an atitude and the service has gone down since last time we stayed.However, the hotel is in a great location and the room cleaning crew is excellent. The rooms are clean and very comfortable.We will stay there again, just not eat there and probably not even park there. There is plenty of parking near by.

Avoid hotel restaurant. $15 breakfast buffet only choice. You could faint from hunger & not be noticed by wait staff. S-L-O-W. Very busy folding napkins and watching t.v. in the bar. Excel at ignoring customers. Plenty of good places to eat within walking distance.Fly into National and take Metro from National to Hilton. Will stay again, but avoid their restaurant.

  • I often stay at the Marriott Courtyard on Connecticut Ave because its easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the Dupont Circle area. But its a hike from the nearest Metro Station. The Hilton Garden Inn on 14th St has slightly nicer amenities and its right across the street from the McPherson Square Metro station. From there you can get anywhere in DC--quickly and cheaply. While both hotels are very attractive for their price, I think Id put the Hilton above the Marriott because of its location. The staff there are also extremely pleasant and helpful.

  • Our stay was for the week of Thankgiving and it couldnt have been better! We were treated very well by the entire staff and I cant say enough on how friendly and helpful they were during the entire stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a downtown location for their vacation. We were well within walking distance to all the Smith S. museums and the Washington Mall. It was less than 3 blocks to the front of the Whitehouse!

  • Great for a quick get away with teenagers. It was clean and nice despite being in the middle of renovations. The staff was nice and friendly. We liked the fridge and microwave in the room. We liked being able to walk to the mall and to restaurants near Dupont Circle.

Every person on the hotel staff that we came in contact with was very friendly and everyone was more than willing to help and accomodate us. We had no complaints about our room, everything was clean and the linen was fresh. The location couldnt be better with the metro stop literally right across the street. When I return to DC, I will definitely stay at the Hilton Garden Inn again!

  • My boyfriend and I wanted to have quick weekend getaway and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every person on the hotel staff that we came in contact with was very friendly and everyone was more than willing to help and accomodate us.   • We are very picky! Enough said; you can stay at this property with ease. The entire staff does their job with perfection. We would suggest parking in a city lot for a lot less than the $30 a night the hotel charges. Other than that, you certainly get your moneys worth and then some. November, 2008

  • Our stay was fine. We would stay there again. Very Very close to the Washington sites. Metro station right across the street. Only a few problems. The AC blew on our bed like the north wind but we were fairly comfortable and certainly cool. The restaurant was expensive, but we found other places nearby. The price for parking was high but if you could find a place to park cheaper, the metro was right across the street. All in all, we would stay there again. Great hotel for the money

  • As stated numerous time here, the location to the mall, metro and resturants is excellent. To the north is a park """"owned"""" by homeless. We did not have enough time to see all the eating estbments, but found anything from McDs to Harrys, a nice bistro with great, reasonable priced food. Use limo to airport- $* flat rate

  • I stayed at the hotel overnight for business. The room was nice and clean. The service was quick. The gym had enough equipment to get a reasonable work out including a nautilus center and several stationary bikes and treadmills.I was able to walk from Union Station.

  • Not a bad value, all things considered.... We wont stay again, however, because we found the desk staff to be less than friendly and helpful. Parking was inconvienient -- the car had to be moved (by us) and couldnt be left in their lot. It took a 45 minute wait, which delayed our whole touring day. The pool was tiny and had so many chemicals in it that it as actually slimy! I think there are better options in D.C.....

After a long day of traveling the bar tender was a delight and the hooch was excellent.The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The only downside for me was the bed was very soft. Linens and room were excellent.

  • My husband and I stayed at this hotel because of its excellent location to the Metro. Many people at the hotel the weekend we stayed were doctors for a conference. My husband and I were just enjoying the weekend and did not dress in fancy suites or dresses, for this reason we were treated like second rate guests. We had to wait longer for our car (we did tip) and we were accused of not paying for services. The hotel attendant raised his voice to me when I insisted that we had paid. Turns out he has a difficult time spelling. Hotels should service each guest equally. We paid the same amount for our room as the man in the next room. Why should we be treated differently because we did not dress our Sunday best?!? My husband and I will never stay at this hotel again and we go to DC quite frequently.
