  • Our stay at the Hilton was OK. Not great, but not bad. The service was good. They made reservations at a local restaraunt that was appropriate to take 3 small children. The gym was very nice although a little pricey for 2 days. The main problem was the way we were treated with the kids. We felt a little unwelcome with the kids.

  • Our stay at the Hilton was OK. Not great, but not bad. The service was good. They made reservations at a local restaraunt that was appropriate to take 3 small children. The gym was very nice although a little pricey for 2 days. The main problem was the way we were treated with the kids. We felt a little unwelcome with the kids.

  • This hotel is not up to Hilton standards. The room was unimpressive, smelled funny and had sheets and comforters that looked well worn in, as if they hadnt been undated since the 1950s. The hotel had uniformed security because it is located in a bad area. Staff was slow and unhelpful. The hotel is not non-smoking and they also charge for the fitness area. It was so bad I left immediately, canceling a thre night stay and I went down the way to the Gran Hyatt, which was a million times better. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, under any circumstances.

  • For $* you would think youd get a full room. The room was so small I couldnt believe it. It was basically half a room. There was no place to put my shaving kit in the bathroom.   • The hotel itself is a great place to stay, right downtown and within walking distance to all public transporation and shopping. The staff was friendly and the bed was really comfortable BUT it is insanely expensive to eat at their restaurant (Urban Tavern), $35 for breakfast!!!!   • WE STAYED IN THE 39 FLOOR AND HAD TO WAIT FOR THE ELEVATOR FROM 5 TO 7 MINUTES ALMOST EVERY TIME WE USED IT, THE BATH TUB WAS CLOGGED AND IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO COME AND FIX IT, THE PARKING AND INTERNET WAS TOO EXPENSIVE. THE WORST HOTEL I EVER STAYED IN.

  • Centrally located, nice hotel. It was a very busy place the one day we were there. Very comfortable beds. Clean room. The best for the best!

  • The Hilton is near Union Square and Market Street, and a great location for exploring that part of San Francisco. Its just a couple of blocks from the termination point of the Market Street cable car, so access there is quite convenient. The hotel itself was very comfortable and a great value for the price.

  • We had arranged our room back in March 2007. The person at the desk could not find our room, made us wait. Then gave us a room. This is a city block size hotel . We got to the room it was dirty and unmade. I called they corrected the situation and got us the proper room. The room was great and our hosekeeper was very nice.

  • We had arranged our room back in March 2007. The person at the desk could not find our room, made us wait. Then gave us a room. This is a city block size hotel . We got to the room it was dirty and unmade. I called they corrected the situation and got us the proper room. The room was great and our hosekeeper was very nice.

  • The hotel is very nice. We booked through online travel website and they upgraded our room by the time we got there. The room was very spacious and had a great view of the city. It was kept well clean by staff. There was also a turn down service. Room service and the mini-bar were way too expensive. We walked to a store across the street and bought some wine, pop and snacks. We did enjoy the City View Restaurant one night. Food was good, service was just alright, enough to get by. Desk staff and concierge were very helpful and polite. We did not use the gym or pool. There was construction on-going at the hotel but we barely noticed. There are security guards around the hotel but we felt that it was safe to walk to and from Union Square and to catch the bus. Its a major city- so crime cannot be swept under the rug. If you are rattled by things like a sticky-button remote and having to find a cheaper soda, this isnt the hotel for you. For us it was great!

  • The hotel is very well located. It is not too close to all the hustle and bustle so you can go back for a quiet sleep. However, it is only a few blocks from Union Square and that is great! The place was very clean and in a safe and clean spot for downtown SF. The pool and hot tub are not open very late. It seems reasonable to stay open till 11pm when the pool is away from rooms.

  • The O Farrell Street location of the Hilton is its best feature! We were close to restaurants, theatre, shopping, and tourist attractions. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. The hotel was very tourist friendly! Our room was comfortable and pleasant. We had a great experience with the Hilton and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the San Francisco area.

  • The O Farrell Street location of the Hilton is its best feature! We were close to restaurants, theatre, shopping, and tourist attractions. The staff at the hotel were exceptional. The hotel was very tourist friendly! Our room was comfortable and pleasant. We had a great experience with the Hilton and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the San Francisco area.

  • My stepmom and I stayed at the Hilton San Francisco, located in the theatre district and just a few blocks from Union Square. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which contributed to a little confusion in trying to move around this gigantic building with three towers. I had read it was a haul from the rooms to the front desk, and this proved to be the case. But it was a lovely hotel. The rooms have an Asian flair and are quite attracrtive. Everything was very clean. There was plenty of security throughout the building at all times of the day and evening. The concierge desk was most helpful on several ocassions. We were able to leave our luggage with the bell captain both before we checked in and after we checked out. I thought it was a great bargain, and we wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. The staff was very the staff was terrific.

  • i came early thinking i would get the room i wanted but understood check in was at 3pm. they told me to come back at 2:30pm and the room would be ready and i did and the room was not ready and told me to come back again 2 more time and it was 4:30pm by the time i was able to check in and in the mean time we went to the bell desk to send our luggage to our room but 2 hours later they didnt we had to call twice. they had lost our luggage. The room was okay not all that great. i wanted to use there gym but apparently you have to pay to us it or be a gold member to even use it. You would think that would be able to us the gym because your a guest at the hotel and you already paid to stay there. The hotel is located in a good spot. i would recommend not not going left when exiting the hotel. there are a lot of bums and scary people that direction. Not a good experience. Parking is very expensive at the hotel. $45 a night plus tax is outrageous. i wouldnt recommed parking in the city or renting a car. the maids were nice and the people were very helpful with directions, but i wouldnt stay here again. i had a bad experience.

  • i came early thinking i would get the room i wanted but understood check in was at 3pm. they told me to come back at 2:30pm and the room would be ready and i did and the room was not ready and told me to come back again 2 more time and it was 4:30pm by the time i was able to check in and in the mean time we went to the bell desk to send our luggage to our room but 2 hours later they didnt we had to call twice. they had lost our luggage. The room was okay not all that great. i wanted to use there gym but apparently you have to pay to us it or be a gold member to even use it. You would think that would be able to us the gym because your a guest at the hotel and you already paid to stay there. The hotel is located in a good spot. i would recommend not not going left when exiting the hotel. there are a lot of bums and scary people that direction. Not a good experience. Parking is very expensive at the hotel. $45 a night plus tax is outrageous. i wouldnt recommed parking in the city or renting a car. the maids were nice and the people were very helpful with directions, but i wouldnt stay here again. i had a bad experience.

  • Comfortable, big, clean beds awaited after our """"early out, late in"""" trips. Except for 2 wrinkles the first night which was quickly ironed out. We arrived 10pm, originally requested for non-smoking rooms which would only be available next day. After a 16hr flight, to be followed by a hectic schedule, we opted for smoking rooms. Requested extra beds before we went to dinner. Came back midnight, still no extra beds. Kids sleepy, were tired and mad when we phoned front desk. They send the beds asap & waived the extra bed charge, which diffused our ill feelings of the hotel.

  • a four star in a great location - union square (south east) - self park very convenient - ask to stay in tower 3, that way you can literally park just outside your room - coffee in room better than starbucks - only real bummer was they charged $15 per day per person to use the fitness center, also parking was steep $45 plus tax - but thats what you get in the city! a pivate parking garage across the street will run you $28. These people were very nice, after checkout, we were an hour away when we realized we left our sons favorite stuffed animal in the room - we immediatley called lost and found and they checked the room , and called us back with the good news. - they then said since we were already on the road, they would ups mama-bear to us in a few days. We had a great time in the city and at this hotel.

GREAT SHOPPING AREA MACYS, BLOMINGDALES, NIKIE STORE, BURRBERRY, COACH, GUCCI, LOUIS VITTON. ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE ......DOES GET A LITTLE SCARY AT SUN DOWN A LOT OF PEDDLERS TONS OF PEDDLERS...... EASY TO VISIT STANFORD AND BERCKLEY NICE TRAIN RIDES.

  • We arrived at 11 am and our rooms were already available, which is precious after a long journey with a lot of luggage. The check-in was immediate, the rooms perfectly clean and welcoming. We had a very pleasant buffet breakfast on the 46th floor dining room, with a stunning view on SF.One of the important drivers in the choice of the hotel was the swimming pool, as very few hotels in SF have one. I am glad to report that the swimming pool and the spa were up to our expectations. The hotel is in the shopping area, between Market St and Union Square, and close to all transportations.

  • The room was a good size, very clean and updated. The elevators were fast and they even have a StarBucks located in the big spacious lobby. The hotel is close to nearby shopping and cable car. The lady at the counter wasnt friendly in the beginning but she lighten up a little later and gave us rooms all on the same floor. This is our third stay at this hotel and would stay again.

  • Wonderful hotel. Friendly staff, nice modern rooms, comfortable beds and nice amenities. Also, iIt is rather large and had lots of convention goers. The only drawback to that is very long lines for taxi cabs both in the morning and evening. I ended up walking next door to get a cab.

  • We have nothing but good comments about this hotel and would recommend it to others.The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. And we got great advice from concierge desk on how to get places--a VERY helpful/friendly/knowledgeable service. Fitness Center is pricey but nice.The lobby was often crowded, but who cares? The hotels Starbucks was nice for a quick break. The hotel restaurant looked expensive and there are so MANY great dining choices within a few blocks that we didnt eat there. We were also fully satisfied with our room--extremely comfortable bed and bedding and decent view. We had been concerned that some previous reviews complained of noise, but our room was very quiet (except for occasional noise from neighbors plumbing). Mainly,we liked the location--even though we arent big shoppers so that aspect of Union Square was wasted on us. OUR goal was to get all over the city by mass transit, and this was a great location within blocks of key transfer points (for cable cars, bus service, trolley and BART). We bought the multi-day MUNI pass (good for everything but BART), and it paid itself off many times over--with relatively easy public transport to Alcatraz landing, Fishermans Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, Haight & Ashbury, Golden Gate Park and more. When wed get confused, we got great help both from drivers and fellow passengers. Also, we learned the hard way that we COULD take the airport shuttle to/from the motel (for $17/person), but we returned by BART for only $5.35/person and it was just as fast/easy (as long as you dont have too much luggage to walk a few blocks to the station). We were also interested in catching a show so appreciated the half-price ticket booth in nearby Union Square!

  • The staff was universally friendly and helpful, the concierge was great for restaurant suggestions and travel directions. The rooms A/C had an annoying quirk: it was motion activated. As long as people were moving in the room, it worked. When no one moved, it shut off. This meant waking up to a hot room several times in the middle of the night. Waving an arm around made it switch on immediately, but then it would switch back off after 1/2 hour or so. Very annoying.The room rate was very good, but be aware that parking at the hotel is * per night! No big deal if you fly in, but we drove in from northern Nevada. Across the street, the parking was ""only"" $* per night. No real options here; just plan for it.Meals at the hotel are comically expensive, but great restaurants are just a few minutes walk away. Location for sightseeing is very good, cable cars and buses are a few blocks away.Overall a very nice hotel, but the A/C issue would keep me from staying here in warm weather.
