  • This hotel is connected to a Marina with real estate and the Tortuga Bay Villas and Spa, which are near the golf course. This means there are 5 miles of resort to use and explore. The grounds are well kept (they sweep the beach everyday), security makes rounds at night, and there are too many activities to take advantage of in a 4 day trip. All non-motorized activities are free. I learned how to windsurf thanks to XXX, and the beach has comfortable chairs and hammocks everywhere! The lobby service was wonderful-we were greeted with drinks; they fixed our balcony door 2 minutes after we called. The breakfast is amazing! It is a great idea to have the breakfast every morning. The only expense was the bottled water, which is expected at resorts. I only regret not staying longer.

  • We stayed for a family wedding. Common staff excellent, they will go out of their way for you. Hotel lobby staff and guest service staff were total snobs! AMT not work for our entire stay they would not accomodate and want me to pay for a taxi to go into town or airport. After I got VERY irrate by the service is when they gave in and appointed some one to take me. Make sure you check your bill at check out. Rented a golf cart and got a flat, they wanted to charge me $50 for a new tire, arrgued for about 15 mins and they finally gave in and removed the fee. All inclusive food was ok, pizza place VERY expensive, come on people, $9 for a mini pizza that was not even home made and $10 for a hamburger, give me a break. Pictures on this web site is not that accurate. The pictures you see is from the Six Sence Spa area, they need to show the ACTUAL pictures. Very nice pool, yes it is deep but there is a kiddie pool. Over all a very nice stay.

  • my wife and i travel quite a bit and i found what i thought was a good deal at this resort the resort was clean and the people where as nice as could be , but the food was not only way over priced but it was the worst tasting food i have eaten in the caribbean, and i have been too a lot of locations and eaten in all types of resturant,s i thought it might only be the first of the four resturant,s they had but we almost starved the week we spent there someone need,s to tell them food not only need,s to look good it must taste edible also, Also there is no elevators there and it,s a long climb to the third floor, the place is spread out a lot also and the rent on golf carts is not cheap, the beach was cleaned twice a day but still was not very clean, the drinks there where also way too high priced, I know my wife and i will not be there ever again and maybe not to D.R. jim jernigan vickisburg,Ms.

  • We recently stayed at the Punta Cana Hotel and loved it! We have a 14 year old daughter and an 11 year old son and stayed in a two bedroom beach casitas. The price on the travel website was significantly less than any other site so I was skeptical. Were not really the all inclusive type but wanted to try Punta Cana so we chose this resort. The food was fabulous...lobsters, steaks and even the pool side pizza was great. On our arrival we were told that the chef had invited us to be his guest and the guest of the sous chef at one of the resort restaurants and we were treated to an incredible 5 course meal with drinks, wine and some wonderful company. We never would have thought that they would have treated us so well with such a steeply discounted rate. We also snorkeled (which is just ok in the DR), played tennis, wind surfed, went on the banana boats, rented mini speed boats but our favorite memories will be driving around a golf cart to explore the property, the hammocks and long walks on the beautiful beaches. We walked for 45 minutes and were still on resort property. The staff was very friendly although their command of English and our understanding of Spanish created some barriers at times but all in all we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this resort.

  • Aesthetically nice, lack of attentiveness with front desk & concierge staff seemed annoyed when asked questions re: resort activities. The dining options limited & food horrible. If have diet restrictions hotel is not for you. No motor activities limited availability for excursions. Room not ready @ ck-in > 30min wait. Review bill at checkout for currency errors. Will be BORED if single, professional. Active prostitution in hotel lobby! Brush up on your Spanish otherwise the staff will ignore you. TRULY DISAPPOINTED.

  • Over 50 friends & family members stayed at this hotel recently & there are things to consider : 1. 2 BR casita has rooms that lock independently, so your children are not adjacent to you, ...there are no connecting doors. 2. The Beach casitas may not even be close to the beach. 3. Beware of the $35 fee to get from the airport to the hotel 4. Water & drinks are not included in the ALL INCLUSIVE meals...huge cost per meal. 5. Staff is on its own time not yours. 6. Pool is VERY deep & not for small children... 7. Bugs are bad & only BR has LOUD A/C.

  • Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the peaceful serenity and the beauty of everything there. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and the evening dining was a treat not only to the tastebuds but to the eyes as well. We experienced several day excursions (swimming with dolphins, mountain tour, golf) which we booked right at the hotel. The only negative was when there was someone in the room next to us. The walls did not block the sound.

  • I found this jewel of a hotel on aonline travel website. It was a great value, and less than 1/2 the cost of a ""luxury resort"" we stayed at in PC.. The PuntaCana Hotel is one of the oldest resorts on the island and counts Oscar De La Renta as one of its original investors. You can imagine the attention to detail and quiet elegance of this place. The 1500 acre ecological preserve was magnificent, and my wife and I greatly enjoyed swimming in the limestone pools in this protected forest. The staff was kind and gracious--generally friendly and helpful. By the second day one of the wait staff would fill my orange juice glass without my asking. An excellent value for the traveller who likes peace and quiet. Lots of sophisticated savvy European travelers here and an electric mix of US folks also--young and old--a pleasant group.

  • The beaches are some of the most wonderful ive ever seen. No snorkling in front of hotel, as the sand is so fine. The staff was very nice. There could be a little more variety as far as the food goes. However, the breakfast buffet was sufficient. No night life, so if your in your 20s not for you!!!! Cant wait to go back next year

  • Although the grounds of the resort were nice, our stay at the Puntacana Resort and Spa was anything but. First, there were no guest books located in our rooms. If I hadnt visited the resorts website before traveling, I would not have known about amenities and services offered. Because the resort is so secluded and not near any commercial district, you are forced to eat at the resort restaurants which are very expensive given the quality of the food ($60 for two burgers and a drink). You have to make reservations to some of the restaurants which we found to be impossible even when trying to reserve 3 days in advance. The hotel staff was not honest or responsive to guests needs. Out antiquated television set did not work upon arrival. The bell hop promised that he would send someone to check it out. Once we tipped him we never saw him again nor did anyone come to fix the television. We took a courtesy shuttle provided by the resort to a nearby shopping center and was told that a shuttle would arrive in a couple of hours to pick us up. We waited and waited and no shuttle came back for us. Luckily, we had our cell phones and were able to call the hotel to ask them to pick us up. I would not reccommend this resort to persons who like to experience the culture and foods of a region. The resort was very secluded and void of the life, music, and foods of the Dominican Republic.
