  • I am from Chicago and came here to stay with my family. We booked a double bed and the staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and of decent size. Even though the hotel is in oakland, its very secured. I booked it because of its central location. Its very close to airport and coliseum. I will definately recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay while in town to Oakland. I give it a thumbs up.

  • I was on a business trip to Oakland last month and booked this hotel via their website. My flight got delayed so I would arrive Oakland late at night. So I called the hotel from the airport to let them know about my late checkin. They responded very well and the staff was very courteous. When I arrived the airport, I took a cab. The hotel was just 10 min short ride from the Oakland Airport. Checkin was a breeze and friendly staff welcomed me as if they knew me for years. The room was clean and tidy. It exceeded my expectations as for the price I paid, I got franchise quality amenities such as microwave, fridge, iron / ironing board, hair dryer, etc. I paid around half of what I would have paid for franchise. The location was great. It was right on the freeway and close to coliseum. Restaurants were at a driving distance however. You couldnt walk. Thats the only drawback I faced. But if you have a car, you dont need to worry. I had to go to San Francisco next day and it was only 20 min cab ride for me. So, inshort, I loved the location, cleaniness and besides all, the hospitality of the staff. I would definately recommend this hotel to everyone and would come back again on my next trip to Oakland.

  • I stayed mid this month and loved the location and price. Indeed it was a great value for money. I recommend Bay Breeze Inn to everyone.

  • My girlfriend and I reserved a room here because I was meeting her from san diego and she goes to berkeley. We didnt know the area at all. All I knew was that it was in Oakland. It is in the shadiest part of Oakland. We walked from the bus stop, 4 blocks, to the hotel and thought we were going to die. It is located next to industrial buildings and train yards. Now I understand that some people might not want to bust out the cash on a fancy hotel for one night or anything and thats understandable. But their website makes it seem like it is way better than it really is. the floors were sticky in the bathroom, the room smelt like peppermint and not in a goodway, in a way as if they were trying to cover up some smell, the tv had 4 channels one of which was in spanish and another was cnn. So in conclusion, if you want to bring a prostitute here or do some drugs then you might feel at home. If you are trying to spend a relaxing evening with your girlfriend enjoying the time you have with each other, go somewhere else. even the economy inn looked waaaay better than this place.

  • I was on a business trip last month to Oakland and decided to stay at this hotel as it was close to downtown oakland. Also was only couple of miles from Oakland airport. I picked this motel due to its central location. Its right off freeway exit. I was satisfied with my overall experience. I agree, the location is kinda industrial and you need a car to get around. But who wants to walk. Its just minutes drive to everywhere including Oakland Coliseum, bart station, airport, downtown, san francisco, etc. The motel was clean and had good security. I felt safe while in oakland. I would certainly come back to this motel on my next trip to Oakland.

  • I stayed earlier this month (December) and was in town with friends and famly. The check in was a breeze. They have very friendly front desk staff. Room was quite clean and had microwave, refrigrator, hair dryer and iron. For the price I paid, I think these amenities are of franchise quality. Rooms were small but very cosy and comfortable. They also had nice lamp shades. I booked it due to their central location. They are right on the 880 freeway and less than a mile walking distance to the Coliseum. Also they had free wireless internet so that I could hookup my laptop in the evening. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great deal without spending extra money on franchises. They charge almost half the franchise rooms but still give franchise service / quality.

  • I was on a business trip to Oakland from Texas and picked this motel on travel website since it was close to Downtown Oakland where I had a meeting to attend. Also this motel was pretty close to Airport. I had a pleasant stay and I must say the folks at reception was pretty friendly. I needed an extra blanket and they immediately gave me one.   • This was the worst hotel I have ever been at. Very unsafe. The first thing you see is a huge security gate you cannot pass through. You have park outside and walk to the office protected by bulletproof glass.Room was clean, but door had been kicked in before and had no additional security locks. Curtain was sheer so anyone walking by could view into your room. We left as fast as we could to find another hotel. I booked in Oakland against my better judgment, but did so because the reviews seemed good. No other traveler should be reeled into this hotel.....this hotel should not be on travel website

  • I am not sure who wrote the other reviews, but it is hard to believe they actually stayed in this hotel. The hotel is located among warehouses and along the 880. The surveillance cameras and the gate to enter the premises of the hotel raised red flags immediately. There are weekly/monthly tenants who did not bolster my faith in the hotels security either. It advertises free wireless, but you may get 2 or 3 page hits before you are disconnected. There was no chain on the door and the dead-bolt did not work. When we turned the tv on, the entire button display sank into the inside of the TV. When we complained, the TV was replaced. I will give them credit for that. The shower was incomprehensible. When you turned the handle to the right, you got cold water -- only cold water! When you turned it to the left you got hot water - only hot water! There was no in between. How do you take a shower this way? If you want a restful stay and want to feel safe and secure, please do not go here.

  • Location is cheesy. Kind a scary to walk alone in the night although the motel itself is gated and had surveillance cameras. Room was clean but no hangers for clothes, no rods or hooks in the bathroom. They gave us only 2 small towels like they were more like mat towels for the feet. The mat outside the shower was a thin paper that was useless when it got wet. We requested for more towels which they didnt give. The TV only had 5 or 6 channels and the remote control was missing. My husband had to go get it downstairs from the office. When they gave it, the remote control looked broken with scotch tape fastened to it. It didnt even work when we tried using it. There was no telephone, no clock or bible which is standard for all motels/hotels. When my husband and I decided to check out early because of this bad experience, the owner was too nosy and ask us why were leaving early and tried coaxing us to stay on. Their price was $* more than Super 8 in Lombard where we transferred. We also had to pay $* for early check out. Super 8 in Lombard was really an upgrade from this cheesy motel.
