  • The hotel is excellent for families on vacation or just passing through. Any time I can find a ""suites"" hotel, I will go for it in a heartbeat--especially if they include breakfast. Our king suite was perfect for our family. We all had a measure of privacy, but when we chose to be together; i.e., to watch a movie, we could do that, too. The pool was great--especially for the kids--and the hot tub was sooooo good--especially for tired bodies after a day at an amusement park! My only ""complaint"" is that the scrambled eggs were shaped like a hot pocket--but, I must say, they still had a good taste. When we got to breakfast on the first day, they were out of sausage. But, all I had to do was ask and it showed up quickly. The tickets we purchased for the Zoo were awesome! Such a deal! Better than anything else I had looked up on line. Thank you for helping to make our mini-vacation an over-the-top experience! I would definitely recommend your hotel for any family looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel.

  • The rooms are not suite rooms but regular hotel rooms , way too small for a family. The room we stayed in smelled bad, we wondered why the windows were opened when we arrived. The breakfast was fine and the staff was nice and helpful. Overall, we would not stay here again because of the size of the room and the smell.

  • The suite itself was nice and the people. The kids enjoyed the pool. The only thing that was hard was if you did not get to the free breakfast right away - the food was gone. They did not refill the empty trays of hot food (sausage) and the juice dispencer was out and it took them two days to refill that. Over all it was a great place for families. Close to everything in San Diego.

  • When we arrived to the area, the hotel was easy to find. We were greeted be a very friendly staff and our check-in was fast. Our room was very nice for the money. We were auctually upgraded from a sofa sleeper to bunk beds for our two little girls who were very excited. The furniture was a little run down and they could really use some new carpet but everything else was great. Our king size bed had comfy pillows and a nice duvet comforter. There was a sliding door that separated the ""kids room"" that had their beds and own t.v. wich was great! The bathroom was completly redone with a granite countertop, and tile shower. We were excited that they had a heated pool and hot jacuzzi. The complimentary breakfast was good and they had pleanty of food. We were very satisfied with our whole experience here. I would recommend this hotel if your on a tight budget looking for a safe, clean hotel. We went to Sea World wich is about 10 mins. away.

  • The location of this Comfort Suites is great for vacationers. It is close to everything and has moderately priced restaurants nearby--El Torito, Benihana, Wendys, and shopping close by. The room is actually a good sized hotel room with a set of French doors to close off a very small living room. It is not a true ""suite."" The unfortunate thing about this hotel is that is constructed of wood. The noise transmission between floors is terrible. You can hear people walking above you and plumbing noises are readily evident. Parking can be tight during peak tourist season. A good value, but you can do better for the same price elsewhere.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Comfort Suites. The room was comfortable, the bed was like heaven and the pool and hot tub were vey welcome at the end of a long hard day of sightseeing. Everything was very clean and the staff very helpful. Travel time was short to Balboa Park, Sea World, Downtown and the water. The next time I travel to San Diego I will stay here again.

  • 3/17 thru 3/21/09 - The rooms were clean. The hide-a-bed in the couch was all springs and very uncomfortable for my daughter (18). The free breakfast looked nice but was so crowded every day that we ate at a restaurant instead. Maybe if you go to eat early around 7AM it wouldnt be so crowded? I would think its more for families with young children. It was noisy because when the doors close for the surrounding rooms it wakes you up which seemed to be constant in the morning. The pool was nice. Plenty of towels and coffee. The site for this hotel offers free parking but they tried to charge us when we were there. Still overall a good value especially for families with young children.

  • I stayed here with the family for four nights in April 2007. Wastebasket in the room was full upon arrival. Hot water in shower was atrocious, either scalding or freezIng. Breakfast buffet was a traffic jam; drinks should be in a separate line. Lousy experience. Very expensive for what you get.

  • The location is good and centrally located to attractions, malls, restaurants and beaches. But if you want quiet this is not the hotel for you. You can hear every noise from the hallway and the room above you. Sound seems to travel through the walls and floors as if they were made of rice paper. And when people allow their children to run screaming through the halls and yell constantly - it is annoying (and rude)! The rooms were adequate to sleep everyone, but the quarters are a bit cramped without much room to move about.

  • The room we stayed in really needed airing. The one window we had could only open a few inches, so it took the two days we were there to freshen up the odor.

  • The room we stayed in really needed airing. The one window we had could only open a few inches, so it took the two days we were there to freshen up the odor.

  • My mother and I had to take a last minute trip to visit with a family member who was in the hospital. We are both particular about hotels focusing on cleanliness and security. I knew we wouldnt be there much, but still hoped for the standards. The front desk help was great. The hotel does not provide computers, but the front desk was happy to share theirs. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Probably the only complaint would be the parking as there was little of it.

  • My mother and I had to take a last minute trip to visit with a family member who was in the hospital. We are both particular about hotels focusing on cleanliness and security. I knew we wouldnt be there much, but still hoped for the standards. The front desk help was great. The hotel does not provide computers, but the front desk was happy to share theirs. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Probably the only complaint would be the parking as there was little of it.

  • The hotel itself is not bad, the breakfast is a joke. The pictures that they show of a deluxe continental breakfast must be from a different hotel because this hotel does not offer any of that. We ended up finding a grocery store close by and buying yogurts and other breakfast items since we have young children and they did not want to eat toast every morning for breakfast. The only reason why we chose this hotel over some others that were rated in this category was because of the continental breakfast. Next time I would stay at the hotels in this category that were the same price that offered free parking (which this one did not), and go get breakfast at the grocery store (which is what we did anyways). The pool was nice but the king suite is tiny. Our room was given away at 10pm when we got there because it is all first come first serve. So after explaining that we were not sleeping on the floor they finally gave us an upgrade which was worse than the King room I had originally reserved which was the King room w/couch. They originally tried putting us in a room with two double beds and my husband is 65"". They said that they always overbook their rooms which is terrible customer service. There were no chairs to sit on, only the bed and two small children under foot. The housekeeping staff seemed very polite and nice but the rest of the place was not that great. The fact that you had to pay to park when they have their own parking lot is a rip off. I dont know that I would stay here again but if you just need a bed its okay.

  • The suite itself was nice and the people. The kids enjoyed the pool. The only thing that was hard was if you did not get to the free breakfast right away - the food was gone. They did not refill the empty trays of hot food (sausage) and the juice dispencer was out and it took them two days to refill that. Over all it was a great place for families. Close to everything in San Diego.

  • We had a pleasant stay with Comfort Suites. The bed was so comfortable! The little living room attached to the room was so nice to have instead of sitting on the bed. The breakfast was good each day with plenty of seating. There were four pillows on the bed and four extra we found in drawers along with an extra blanket. We didnt even have our room cleaned for our stay because we wouldnt have needed anything replaced. The hotel is convenient to the highway without hearing the noise of it. Its very close to shopping and the hotel gave us two lists of restaurants and shops with directions to each. My only concern about the room was that there wasnt a safe in the room. However, I would still definitely stay here again.

  • Staff was poorly managed. When asking for someone in charge... no one seemed to want to come forward.We felt unsafe because they hire an outside security company to try to keep out uninvited guests.A huge homeless population on this street which was VERY uncomfortable.   • We stayed for two nights & would never return again. The rooms smell like urine & the king size suite is really small. The word ""suite"" is misleading, it felt like we were in small box. Our first room smelled like urine, but we didnt complain because we thought we could air it out overnight. The smell did not get better the next day & when we returned from Sea World for our second night stay we got our room changed and the second room smelled like strong chemicals trying to disguise the smell of urine. We didnt complain because it was our last night & we were exhausted from Sea World. Right when we were getting ready for bed, the fire alarm went off and we couldnt get through to the front desk when we tried to call. We finally found out that someone had intentionally set it off. Then 30 minutes later we get a loud banging on our door & someone was trying to come in. When I went to the door someone was standing out there and said that the front desk had given them the wrong room number. Okay, I at this point wanted to leave and drive back home to L.A., but my husband was too tired from the day to drive. We then get a call from the front desk checking to see who we were because they werent aware that we had changed rooms. I would NEVER return to this hotel again.

  • For the price this hotel was great.. I was impress on how the grounds were beautiful and well maintained and the pool was cared for every day. the cleaning lady for our room got down on her knees to wash the bathroom floor. I saw vacent rooms carpet being cleaned. Our granddaughter enjoyed the bunkbed. The fittness room was nice for me. Tne only thing we had to complained about was that a soccer team was staying there also and it didnt matter what time of the am it was. They managed to eat all the bannanas and take up all the seating area. The eggs I think were powdered. not tastey. It was too cold to sit out on the patio and eat.. All said I recommend this place in a heart beat.. The setting was beautiful reminding me of Spain. Not a complaint with the staff.P.S. IT costs 25-28$ by taxi from the airport

  • For the price this hotel was great..   • We did a last minute vacation to SD. Our last stays were at poor motels in Hotel Circle. You do get what you pay for. So we tried paying a bit more and stay at Comfort Suites. We were aware the rooms were smallish from reviews here and we werent disappointed. They were small but workable. The lady at the front desk did not volunteer any more information than the absolutely necessary for check in. I dont think she even smiled or said thank you. We got the room just across from the breakfast room. Surprisingly it wasnt too noisy. The suite above us must of had small kids because we really could hear feet pounding too and fro in the mornings. The room was clean and smelled of bleach when we checked in. Later the smell of deteriorating carpet became apparent. The room with the foldout bed had a tv that was ill positioned. Scratches in the cabinet showed that previous guests had to rotate the tv at an odd angle for viewing as we did. A big plus was that I found a stairway at the back of the parking lot that led to the restaurants, El Torito and Benihanas that you could walk to. Which is important since their lots fill up at dinner time. We did have an issue that needed a response from the front desk, we got prompt service. Considering we were about 30ft away, this was expected. The wireless internet worked fine as long as you stayed near the window. The check in lady failed to let me know the password was on the room key holder. Breakfast was adequate each morning. The eggs were prepared differently each day of our stay. Kind of cool.

  • The hotel is upgraded and has some nice amenities. The only disappointment was the room size. It is a normal sized hotel room cut in half. It is nice to have a separate sitting area but both areas are somewhat small.
