  • The hotel is in a gorgeous location; the beach & pool are a great getawat. BUT I was lucky enough to go during the Spring Break season where security is almost non-existent so there were spring breakers all over the property basically running a muck w.o any consequence from the hotel staff that I saw. I brought it to the staffs attention several times but nothing really changed while I was there.

  • The hotel is in a gorgeous location; the beach & pool are a great getawat.   • I agree with most of the bad reviews. There was nothing great about the hotel or the staff. And the parking situation is terrible. But if you want to stay in a hotel with some history, this is the place. I could almost feel the history. I wish i could have stayed there in the 60s.

  • I agree with most of the bad reviews. There was nothing great about the hotel or the staff. And the parking situation is terrible. But if you want to stay in a hotel with some history, this is the place. I could almost feel the history. I wish i could have stayed there in the 60s.

  • This hotel has a great potential of being a geat place to stay. However, the rooms are dirty. The towels were ripped and harsh on your skin. Thr room dirty, especially the windows, so the beautiful views could not be enjoyed and the staff was understaffed and rude. Dont stay there.

  • The lobby & pool was very nice & the room was ok but the bed was very uncomfortable & one of the beds was broken & we couldnt sleep on it at all. The place was in desporate need of repairs & updates. Other than the lobby the rest of the pictures dosnt look anything like it at all. We were unable to get an ocean side view & had to settle for the other side. The front desk was very nice & helpful & we took a cab or bus everywhere. We didnt have any problems with our water in our room but we the breakfast is terribly exspensive! We went across the street to get something to eat. One other thing that we did not like was the fact that we couldnt open any windows. Good enough place for your money I guess but the bed alone will have me staying somewhere else next time.

  • For the price, this place is perfect. The only thing I will recommend is to pay the extra * per night for the ocean front balcony. Thats all we ever wanted and we had the greatest time. If youre expecting a 5 star hotel, dont bother. But, if youre looking for a nice place to stay thats right on the beach, book your stay here. The room was clean, the pool and whirl pool are great and the best part is, there was hardly anyone here. Nice and relaxing! Theres a Walgreens right across the street and a Publix supermarket a block down the road. Everything you need is in walking distance. All in all, we had such an amazing time and I would go back here in an instant. My only complaint in the fact that I didnt stay long enough. Dont listen to the other trash-talking reviews. This place is perfect for a nice relaxing beach vacation. Tip; Fly to Fort Lauderdale and take the shuttle. Its only 20 miles and costs much less than flying into Miami.

  • For the price, this place is perfect. The only thing I will recommend is to pay the extra * per night for the ocean front balcony. Thats all we ever wanted and we had the greatest time. If youre expecting a 5 star hotel, dont bother. But, if youre looking for a nice place to stay thats right on the beach, book your stay here.   • I was expecting at least something average but beginning with the location,it was just greatly inconvenient because their was no valet service when we got there (12 pm) and I was told to park at a nearby parking lot approx.3 blocks away.The area is congested and a hang for homeless as well as shady characters.It was not all bad because there were shops and restaurants close by as well as paid parking for about $ hr (hint) bring quarters.The hotel staff was almost non-existent so make friends with other hotel guests If you want if you want information.The rooms were dark and stuffy and the bed leaves you with an itchy feeling it could be the detergent or if it is bed mites I dont want to know.We stayed here one night which is plenty,then we stayed at The Palms which was a whole lot better and I would recommend looking around ,booking a hotel in advance is your best bet.

  • If you arrive early for check in, do not approach front desk. A girl there with attitude,unfriendly.The lobby is beautiful, decor,clean BUT the rooms, not up to par. Their VIP room, not much to speak of and they had serious plumbing problems entire time we stayed there and showed no compensation for the inconvenience. Better off at a Best western than this place.

  • beware of elevator number 4!! we were stuck in there for almost an hour. the service emergency phone did not work. luckily we had our cell phone to call front desk. we had to call twice. the first call the person didnt send any help. we were losing our voices trying to yell for help. constant hammering and constructing sounds coming from all the rooms surrounding us. on another note... beach access was great... location was okay... parking was easy... yet the first two nights valet was full... forced to find street parking.

  • Stayed here for a business trip. Hotel is on the beach but cross the street and you are in a bad area of town. Gate separating hotel from beach is locked at night for good reason! ""Valet"" parking not secure - many peoples cars damaged. Staff rude and not helpful - they pretend they dont speak English when they do! Even rooms that were renovated were dirty. My drinking glass was filthy. Meeting rooms were moldy smelling. If I werent here for a business meeting, I would have checked out!

  • I have stayed here twice on two seperate occasions. The rooms are clean, the pool is relaxing, outside bar is fully stocked, the beach is well kept. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is in a great location for a nice quiet relaxing trip with a large choice of resturants. I would highly suggest staying here. I havent found a better hotel for such a good price. If you used to staying in Hiltons and Hyatts this is not the hotel for you. But offers alot for the price. VIVA MIAMI!!! Best kept secret in Miami. shhhh dont tell everyone.

  • My husband, five year old and I stayed at the Deauville for two days before I attended a seminar in Coral Gables. The hotel was an older hotel which we like because it gives it more character. The hotel was maintained. Our room was clean, but one bed needed to be replaced. We had a beautiful oceanview and porch which was requested when we booked our room. The view was beautiful. The pool, hot tub and beach were very clean and in good working order. We did have a small fire alarm when we visited, but no serious damage or anyone hurt. The staff are not super friendly or helpful. I stood in line for 1 hour the first person in line to check out on the morning of April 21 I was at the front desk by 6:30 am. The line behind me was at least five people. The staff person handle it well, but the hotel does seem to be a little short staffed.

  • This hotel had the ugliest room Ive ever stayed in. The air conditioner was loud and leaked. The room overlooked the dumpsters and had roll away beds that were not comfortable. The sink and shower fixtures were labeled incorrectly so when I turned on the shower for hot water I got cold and had to call for maintenance to come up because I had no hot water. The lobby was nice so I was verrrrry surprised that my room was so hideous. Maybe the other rooms are better and more ""resort-like"". But Ive stayed at a Holiday Inn that was a lot better (and no disrespect to Holiday Inn), but they dont advertise their hotel as a ""resort"".

  • The prices quoted by internet travel sites are misleading. Add $20/day for mandatory valet park. Then add $7/day for resort fee. Internet? Sure: $12/day. The facility is old and the rooms have not been adequately updated. The lobby looks great -- but you wont be sleeping there, will you? To top it off, the front desk crew is surly.   • The prices quoted by internet travel sites are misleading. Add $20/day for mandatory valet park. Then add $7/day for resort fee. Internet? Sure: $12/day. The facility is old and the rooms have not been adequately updated. The lobby looks great -- but you wont be sleeping there, will you? To top it off, the front desk crew is surly. Its like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to stay here. Avoid unless you like paying high prices for a shoddy property.

  • the worst hotel ive ever stayed in. save your money and go somewhere else. when me and my husband went to the restaurant they wouldnt let us in, and waiting for the valid parking is the worst of all. when my husband went to get the keys, the guy was about to fight him. there was a problem with the parking and they didnt even say sorry or care at all. the people waiting for valid parking were drunk. when me and my husband went to check out early at 4 in the morning to catch our flight, there was no one there, we almost missed our flight, because there was not one person there. the pools were closed by 7 pm// we payed for everything and got nothing! the only good thing about this hotel, is the room service.

  • The hotel was good, the only thing that I would note is; yes the hotel is kind of old but it is in good shape, clean, and nicely upkept.It is located right on the beach, so it was very convenient.

  • The hotel was good, the only thing that I would note is; yes the hotel is kind of old but it is in good shape, clean, and nicely upkept.It is located right on the beach, so it was very convenient.

  • This hotel is impressive, in a retro Miami way, on first glance. In many ways, it is a beautiful place. Some of the help were extremely helpful and caring on check-in and in the dining area. The shabbiness of the foyer furnishings was reflected in some of the lack of maintenance in other areas, outside and inside, and in the rooms. The renovations in the room are very spiffy but a little weird, with the bathroom mirror to the side of the lavatory instead of in front. Makes makeup application strange, as the light is not over the mirror. It was nice to have a fridge in the room, as well as a safe. Bathtub had several hairs in it, as did the washbowl. The carpet in the room needed cleaning. The linens on the bed, however, seemed very clean and fresh, with a white, washable coverlet instead of an old stale bedspread. The back of the door in the bathroom was flithy, and the touch up painting all around was sloppy and in need of renewal. The balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean was spectacular!! Overall a nice place in many ways, but a little shabby around the edges, the price you pay for a place with 478 rooms! Valet parking is a problem---they actually ran out of places for us, so we had to park at meters and stuff money in them! There is a big, multi-story parking garage being built across the street which will help with this problem.

  • My friend and I needed a quick getaway from the horrible Chicago weather without a ton of money to spend. We stumbled across the Deauville and despite all of the horrible reviews, gave it a shot anyway. All we were looking for was a hotel with a pool, on the beach, with beds to sleep in. The Deauville fullfilled our requirements. The staff was overly friendly and more than willing to help scour the premises when my friend lost her wallet within 20 minutes of arriving. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wants a cheap place to stay. It was totally worth the money and we would definitely stay there again.

I will not be using your site anymore for hotel booking because the agent misinformed me about the entire hotel information including distance from airport, seaport, shopping attractions.

  • Ill never go there again. When I reported the cell phone, no one on the valet or hotel staff would even write a report or anything, they just looked at me nodded and went to the next customer. They also changed the preset stations on my radio. Not just changed the channel, but actually changed the presets. Bathrooms were a joke. Busted tile, hazy mirrors, towel rack was actually in the shower; no hand towel rack anywhere. TV selection was horrible. English was at least the 2nd language. I wouldnt recommend this place ever.

  • Stayed at the hotel for two days. Rooms was satisfactory as was everything other than the parking and front desk staff. I had a prepaid resevation and even with that they charged $250 to my cc, which I was assured would be removed immeadiately when I checked out, that wasnt the case at check out, which took 45 minutes.The parking was intollerable, the lot was full and there was no valet service available. So you had to drive around the area looking for parking. Or use one of the lots that were all a one time fee, with no reentry, or feed the meters (2 hour time limit) around the hotel untill after 6:00pm. All the staff I talked to were friendly but the place is incompetantly run and I spent a goo 1.5 hours finding a place to park my car. I wouldnt recommend this hotel until they get their act together. But train your staff so the person checking you in and the person checkin you out are working from the same script.

  • the deauville is an excellent older hotel. it could use updates but what older hotel couldn t ? if you want south beach or ultra luxury go else where if you want a staff that really cares and is very helpfull, along with a great pool area stay here. the reg. rooms are fairly large [20x20] i would suggest the oceanfront rooms as they have balconies. as for lack of restaurants, a 4 block walk gives you at least 8 choices, all acceptable for a hungry couple, and local grocery store is 2 blocks away [great subs and chicken] . the bellmen and concierge are great they never were without truely helpfull suggestions. if you want to be waited on hand and foot pony up $500 or more a night elsewhere if you want to have a nice time come here.[get the oceanfront rooms though]

  • In my last expirience of my stay, I felt the following:Deauvilles decorations are wonderful; there are many natural, exotic flowers in its unique style, and i feel the hotel lobby is very comfortable and fancy. The rooms are very clean, secure, and comfortable, but especially, the staff is very kind and efficient. I honestly do recommend this hotel as your next pick/stay when you visit MIAMI BEACH.

  • When we arrived our room was not ready and had to take a different room. The room was old and smelled of smoke. When asked to change into a room without all the smoke smell we were told they could come spray the room down. We also paid $10 a day for interent, but the hotel had really bad reception and we barely ever got the interent. One day the cleaning people never even came to clean the room and we had to ask for them to come. The only good thing were the parking attendents, who were awesome.

  • Went to Miami South Beach with now wife, was our first weekend getaway together and my birthday weekend. Staff was great, when I arrived my credit card company didny have my card activated and the staff worked with me to get it straighten out and the weekend was a great success near the famous balfour shopping center. my room was a beautiful view of the ocean and the courtyard. Thanks for a great weekend for me and my wife. I recommended this hotel to all my friends that visit miami...Al
