  • The Beacon Hotel was AMAZING! It is right in the middle of all that is happening in South Beach. This was my first trip to Miami...and we are already booking our next trip to the Beacon. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We needed the lock to our room fixed...and it was done in less than an hour, while we were at the beach. The waiters at the restaurant are awesome...we will definitely be dining there again! The rooms were clean, and the hotel was very quiet, despite being in the heart of the Sobe action. It is within walking distance to everything youd want to see while here...no need to rent a car or take taxis. I cant wait to return to the Beacon!!!

While an older style hotel it was completely clean and comfortable. We stayed in the VIP suite as for some unexplained reason our reserved Ocean View room wasnt available. And the upgrade was free. What a pleasant way to start a vacation! The hotel staff was wonderful, offering help at every turn whether it was taking care of our bags (because we arrived before check in time) or hailing us a cab. And it is located right in the middle of so many fine restaurants. The neon lit hotel fronts are really a sight at night too. We plan on going back when we can stay for a few days. Overall we cant say enough about what a wonderful stay we had at the Beacon Hotel.

  • Very nice hotel on Ocean Drive in South Beach. Everything was up to or exceeded my needs and expectations. Room was great as was the staff. Wonderful restaurant on the ground floor and outside, and great jazz saxaphone player who played each night. Would definitely go back.

  • So Be is a party place, so many guests are young and can be loud- SO Be in general is not really a place for kids. The hotel is extremely clean, with professional, responsive staff. Rooms are small, but meticulous. Guests have use of computers, office space, gym- hotel provides beach towels and even shower room and luggage storage AFTER checkout! Food and drink prices were higher than most on Ocean Dr. but prices are high everywhere, so bring plenty of spending money! Hotel reservation and airfare was a great price, but we spent a lot once we got there. Fun place.

  • The hotel and room was very clean and welcoming. The only down side to the room is the bathroom because its very tiny(as long as you dont like hangout in a bathroom, you should be good). The rooms have beach towels & beach chairs for you to use on your stay, which was really nice to have and not have to purchase. The staff(front desk, bartenders, valet, cleaning crew) was very friendly and made us feel like they went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our trip/stay. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant(Im sorry but I cant remember the name, its somehting like ""Revendous""). Our meal was exceptional. The service was on point and the food was probably one of the best meals we have had in a long time, everything was good perfect and flavored wonderfully. We would stay here again and again. You will be happy with your stay.

The small area in the front of thge hotel was normally full of cars to be parked with no space for a hotel customer to pull up or get out of a taxi without holding up major traffic. The hotel should provide prioity service to their customers.

  • Just got back from my stay at the Beacon, I stayed 5 nights, everything was GREAT!! The staff is so nice and very helpful. The room was very clean, the food is amazing, great drinks. I will be going back soon!! I would definately recommend this hotel!!! :)

  • The room was clean and neat ,the staff was extremley friendly and called us by name whenever they saw us!the Bartender G remembered what we like to drink and chatted it up whenever we saw him. The wait staff out front are very kind and nice to all. The front desk is always staffed and everyone behind it is there for YOU and make it 100% clear that they will do whatever it takes to make youre stay comfortable.accross the street from the beach...what more could you ask!If I had to say something bad I couldnt!I highly recomend this hotel it is in an awesome location ,resteraunts and fun are everywhere within a 2 minute stroll. the Breakfast is offered through Johnny Rockets which is right next door and it is a home cooked diner style meal ,its just what you need after a night of partying until almost 4 a.m. ...some clubs OPEN at 11 p.m. what a place south beach, Go and enjoy and without a doubt YES STAY HERE THE BEACON IS A SOBE CHARM.you always see it on t.v. shows of Miami in the background....you will not be sorry if you stay at this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The beacon was a last minute decision. We chose this hotel based on the location and the previous reviews given. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. Would definitely stay there again. The staff was accomodating, Check in is normally 3pm. Our first day, we got there around 11:45AM and I wasnt feeling well so they were sure to get us in a little earlier which I was grateful for. The rooms were comfy and the bathrooms were very small but good enough to do what you had to do. Prime location. Directly across the street from the beach, the hotel provides nice, large beach towels and beach chairs are in your rooms ready to go and water at the front desk to take with you if you request it. Half price drinks at the bar til 4pm and specials on dinner every night. The fitness room is kind of small but it is equipped with a treadmill, elliptical maching and a universal machine. It also has a full bathroom in there so you can shower if you choose too. The business center (internet room) has at least 4 computers for your convenience and of course the internet is free. You wont regret your stay at this hotel. Its been around since 1936 and theres a reason its lasted so long. If you choose this hotel Im sure you will enjoy your stay just as much as I did.

  • We stayed here April 9-11, 2009. We had an ocean view room which was very spacious, the bathroom was upgraded and very clean (rain shower, Aveda bath products), the bed was super comfortable and was a king size, great LCD tv, mints on your pillows, the works! We really enjoyed our stay at the Beacon, the staff were also very helpful. It was a bit expensive ($* USD / night) but Im pretty sure you get what you pay for in South Beach. Before booking a hotel in South beach, I must have read reviews about a hundred other hotels, and most people complained about noise. Well, the Beacon hotel is right in the middle of the South Beach strip, and our room was facing the street and the ocean, and we didnt hear a thing! We slept like babies! I would highly recommend booking the Beacon if you plan on visiting South beach :) Also, you get a free continental breakfast from Johnny Rockets right next store :)

I would highly reccomend this hotel! Their restuarnt is also very very good! a bit pricey but def should eat there one night the food is amazing! prices for this hotel were very resonable too! A+

I am disappointed with the online travel website about the price. They are not very clear on the fact that the price they are advertising is without taxes or hotel fees. My hotel bill for one night was $** more than what the online travel website was advertising.   • I found the hotel to be everything that was necessary for a great vacation to Miami. The rooms, as stated by others, are a bit small when there are two double beds. Since we were not in the rooms for long periods, that was fine. The location of the hotel is great. Right across from the beach and within easy walking distance of all things SoBe. I really thought the staff was great, friendly and knowledgeable. A very pleasant experience. I hope to be back.

The hotel is only steps to the beach where theres Volleyball, Biking, sun-bathers and... beach! I came down on business and was not dissapointed.   • My husband and I had an excellent experience staying at the Beacon. Its location is perfectly situated within walking distance of anything you cold want or need. The beach is right in front and gorgeous. The decor is classic Art Deco and the rooms tasteful. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are luxurious. Most important were the people that worked there. They were not only professional but warm, friendly and couldnt do enough to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend Beacon Hotel and will definitely return.

  • The beacon seems to be in the center of everything on the beach and not far from attractions on Wash and Collins ave. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Very cool decor and design. The room with double beds was a bit smallish but was very clean and had everything we expected except a fridge. I would stay again.

  • This stay was a disaster. Travelwebsite charged me twice the regular rate. The initial rate was there when I first looked. Up when I booked. Back down several days later. Well after the 24 hour ""guarantee"". Front desk staff was unfriendly. I mean downright snobby and unaccommodating. Room was filthy. Cold stone floors that were sticky and dirty. Made sure to wear shoes at all times. Walk to room (located at the front of the hotel) was on uneven floors, through another door and up some more steps. Hard for my mother to navigate. Asked for extra chair in room. No response. No information in room about features. No TV listing. No info about setting cooler unit. The room information was all on a sheet that I signed and the desk took back. Nothing in room even said what the breakfast hours were. Beach chairs and floats in closet had sand and vomit on them. Sand all over closet. Room floor wasnt even swept on our second day. Trash in halls. No bar holds for bathtub. Safety latch on door was broken off. Definitely did not feel safe in room. Only lobby is on mezzanine with no windows. Room listed as ""Ocean View"". No ocean in sight. Worst experience ever on South Beach. Also worst travelwebsite experience ever. They lost me on this one.

  • My 18 yr old daughter and I stayed at The Beacon on a graduation trip. We found it to be extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was more than accomodating, providing us with fresh beach towels and recommendations on restaurants. The beds were soft and comfortable, the bathroom spotless (although small), the large screen TV was appreciated. The small fitness center is air conditioned. The business center has 4 computers with free Internet available all the time. The hotel is centrally located on the beach and easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. I requested a quiet room away from street noise and did not hear a thing all night (on the third floor). I will definitely stay at The Beacon on my next trip to South Beach and highly recommend it.

Its chic, complete with marble floors, a flat screen TV and a mini-bar and safe. Really, when in South Beach, you shouldnt need to be in your room that much! The hotel is clean, they have a business center with online access, which proved to be very important for me. You get a free continental breakfest next door at Johnny Rockets. Valet parking is $20 a day, but really with the great location, you can park your car and walk or take a cab to and from anywhere you need to go. The beach is right across the street! There is great dining and entertainment all over the place near Beacon. Try Mangos! They have GREAT food, great looking servers and an all night party! I was there both nights I stayed and its only two or so blocks from the hotel. Other cool places to check out is the Love Hate Lounge, Teds Hideaway (for cheap drinks). If youre a club person then hit Mansion, Opium / Prive. You cant go wrong with the Beacon. The staff is great too!

A convenient perk is the Johnny Rockets which is right downstairs and the Beacon even gives you coupons for the duration of your stay.
