- Our 3 night stay at the New Orleans Hotel Intercontinental was great. From the valets out front to the desk crew to the maids to the restaurant staff, everyone made you feel welcome and ready for a return trip as soon as possible. The concierges (X and X) were pure professionals in every sense of the word. The hotels restaurants were very good. Breakfast in the hotels Veranda was well worth it. Go to Cafe Du Monde (off Jackson Square) for the cafe au lait and beignets, but the Verandas French Toast and the Eggs Benedict were superb as well.

- i was in new orleans for a business trip and needed a quite place to get some rest after long meetins! this hotel is far enough from the noise of French quarter and close enough to walk and have few drinks! i will never stay in another hotel in new orleans! i am taking my family next month for a weekend stay! love it!

- i was in new orleans for a business trip and needed a quite place to get some rest after long meetins! this hotel is far enough from the noise of French quarter and close enough to walk and have few drinks! i will never stay in another hotel in new orleans! i am taking my family next month for a weekend stay! love it!

- My friend and I stayed at InterContinental first week of July and loved it. The hotel is walking distance to the French Quarter and A convenient spot to stay. The staff was very friendly and the room was just perfect. I will definitely be back!

- I went to this hotel because last summer I was impressed with the InterContinental in Atlanta. That IS a 5 star hotel!!! You get treated like royalty from the moment you walk in to the moment you get out. Everything is RIGHT about that place, so of course I decided to stay at the InterContinental in New Orleans last weekend for this years trip...I was dissapointed and can only give it a 2.5 star. Read the Pros and ConsPros:Very friendly staffNice and clean hotel upon enteringAllowed early registrationCons:The rooms were not 5 star accomodations, the double beds were small and the cleaning service was not goodIssues:Asked for a Non-Smoking room and when I got to the room is smelled as a smoking roomSolution: Brought it to the Front Desk attention, who apologized (nice) and gave me and my friend free breakfast tickets for the entire time we would be there (very nice)The location is closed enough to the action and far enough to get adecuate rest without all the commotion on Bourbon Street.Over all the experience at this InterContinental was ok, but I would not go back because it did not match my expectations, and I feel I could have spent the same amount of money with similar accomodations in a cheaper hotel...had it been like the one in Atlanta, I would have loved to go back (which I am planning to return to New Orleans because I loved it-you will too!)They have a pool-I did not use it though, it did look clean but smallI met a couple who felt the same way as they had visited other InterContinental hotels There are lots of great things to do-see the suggestions...

- Check-in time was not until 4 pm which I thought was a little late. At 4 our room was not ready so we went to the lobby bar for drinks and snacks. The front desk said it would call my cel phone when the room was ready.The food was mediocre at best. The poor bartender was having trouble keeping up with the crowd as he was working alone making drinks and serving food. At 4:30 my room was still not ready. I spoke with the desk clerk and he said that a large group had requested a late check out and that was why he didnt have a room for us. I was rather upset but they finally "found" a room for us which had a balcony facing an office building full of workers. There is a cute little pub in the hotel which we never got to enjoy as it does not open until 9pm. Nice hot shower with good pressure, a very comfortable bed with a down mattress pad and lots of pillows was very comfortable. Our tv kept turning itself on at all hours of the day and night however. But overall, not a bad stay. We enjoyed ourselves. Oh, and the pool is on the roof...outside. Nice weight room which was ver clean and equipment seemed new.

- This hotel is central to all we wanted to do. The convenience of having the Trolley running in front of the hotel reduced the need for long walks and cab rides considerably. The hotels Concierge was excelent and they know their city. The house keeping staff generally could not understand your requests and therefore went unfullfilled. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The addition of a large balcony made the experience that much better. The hotel is quiet without the parting and noise of the French Quarter, but close enough to walk to. There were some minor technical problems with the rooms equipment, and the engineering staff responded immediatly.The Veranda restaurant located in the the hotel served and excellent dinner, but the serving staff was new and experienced. The buffet breakfast was good. Petes Grill also located in the hotel was closed most of the time and really should stay that way. Poor service and lack of atmosphere in a potentially great meeting place has gone untapped by this hotel.Overall the hotel is a great place to stay and was a good value when we stayed.

- We can honestly say that the Hotel Intercontinental was deserving of its 4 stars. I have worked in some very fine hotels so I can say with out a doubt they have the finest staff in all of New Orleans. Professional yet warm. Everyone was quick to help, suggest and direct. By the time we left we felt like family!

- I traveled on business to New Orleans. I found the hotel to be clean, the staff friendly and location strategic for walking to both the convention center and the French Quarter. I didnt use any special hotel services other than luggage hold, which was friendly and quick. There is a fitness center w/ treadmills/ellipticals and some weight equipment; the room was clean and stocked w/towels.

- Hotel is in an excellent location for the French Quarter, Garden district etc. Trolly runs outside the hotel which is convenient for getting around town. Rooms we clean and comfortable and the room safe is a must. Houskeeping staff rates good to inexperienced depending who was staffing the floor. Hotel restuarant had excellent dinner (probably the best we had in NO), but staff was very inexperienced which took away from the dining experience. There were issues with the TV menu system, and several attempts were made to fix it, without success. Hotel Concierge was"" the"" best, always helpfull, knows his town. I would stay here again. Suggest you try Luke Brasserie and Bar across the street. Great food and drinks. Staff is the best.

- Great location. Its an easy, fun walk to the French Quarter, and its right in front of the streetcar that takes you to the Garden District. The hotel is very handsome and quiet. The staff that spoke English was very helpful, but we found that the cleaning staff often forgot to leave the basics, i.e., coffee, washcloths. I thought the bed was old and uncomfortable, but my sister seemed to have a better one. Overall, its a very nice place for the cheap online travel website price.

- I was very pleased with my stay at InterContinental. The service was excellent, the room was very nice and clean. The only exception to the clean room is the carpeting. The carpeting was dirty with heavy traffic tracks. All else, the duvet, sheets, towels etc.. was very clean. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating to any request. The fitness facility is ideal for any level of workout, from treadmills, cycles to heavy lifting weights. The location is perfect in NOLA. A short walk to the French Quarter, Harrahs Casino and the Riverwalk. No car is needed. The best travel from the airport is the airport shuttle for $15/person. The other change I would make is the access to the internet. Considering the rate of the hotel; free internet access from your room would be ideal. The only free internet access is in the lobby area. My stay was March 2009. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

- I was very pleased with my stay at InterContinental. The service was excellent, the room was very nice and clean. The only exception to the clean room is the carpeting. A short walk to the French Quarter, Harrahs Casino and the Riverwalk. No car is needed. The best travel from the airport is the airport shuttle for $15/person. The other change I would make is the access to the internet. Considering the rate of the hotel; free internet access from your room would be ideal. The only free internet access is in the lobby area. My stay was March 2009. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

- This was a little in-town getaway, which we usually do in the French Quarter, but we were pleasantly surprised by both the downtown area and the InterContinental. The hotel was absolutely great - the staff, location and room were all perfect. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anybody. The downtown area has alot of great new restaurants, but the brunch at the InterContinental cannot be missed!!

- Hotel common areas and rooms look nice. Beds are super-comfy. Concierge staff is fantastic - nice and extremely knowledgeable. Location is good - 2-3 short blocks from French Quarter, easy walk to Warehouse/Arts district & riverfront. Room service was good, when we needed a small room repair, they were quick & efficient. Pool is surprisingly okay for a rooftop pool.However, for this level of hotel, at this price, I do think they should have done a better job of anticipating our needs. We booked a room for 4 people, but it was only set up for two, so we had to ask for additional towels, etc. OK. But then we also had to ask for basics like shampoo. And there is almost NO drawer space in the room - we ended up storing things in the TV armoire after emptying it of the ice bucket etc. None of this was a fatal flaw, just small things that I wish would have been better for this level of hotel. I felt comfortable enough, but not pampered.

- We stayed in this hotel on a roadtrip passing through New Orleans. The hotel was perfect. Valet service was prompt and courteous, I could have gone without the $29/night parking fee but it was somewhat worth it not to have to look for parking.Check-in was fast and courteous as well. We booked this rate with the breakfast option, which turned out to be two vouchers for coffee and a muffin, I was not impressed and wouldnt have paid extra for this had I known what it included. There was a bell hop who was really helpful in telling us where we could find local restaurants and stores.The room was perfect and very comfortable. The room was clean and very accomodating. The bathroom was awesome, a big tub and a huge vanity. The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. They used a down cover over the mattress and a down comforter as well.We chose the room service option for breakfast, I definitely recommend the room service. We ate at the hotel restaurant the night before and loved it, although it was a little over priced.Overall a great experience!

- online travel website chose this one for me. I selected the airfare and they said I could add a 4star hotel for $**/ night. How can you not accept such a great offer! The room was perfect. I dont know why but im not going to argue.The room was average size, very clean, and maid service was there everyday with fresh towels and a made bed. The hotel restaurant was just OK we ate their the first night. The service was slow under staffed for a saturday night. Your only a 5 minute walk to the French Quarter which we walked their alot to eat. I will definetly stay there again.
