  • My stay here for the AdvancED conference was an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was exceptional with a breathtaking view to the north over the Magnificent Mile. The hotel was having renovation done, including in the lobby, but I did not find it cumbersome. There was ample space for the conferences many sessions. The hotels locaton is ideal for shopping, dining, or sightseeing. In short - a most enjoyable experience.

  • Good hotel conveniently located on magnificient mile. Every thing is within walking distance like lake michigan, Navy pier (or take the free trolley), water tower, eating, shopping, millenium park etc. Public transport easily available so dont waste money on car rental. You will also end up paying a daily parking fees as there is no free parking in the hotel. Try to get a room with a view of the magnificient mile you will also get magnificient view of the lake michigan.

  • Good hotel conveniently located on magnificient mile. Try to get a room with a view of the magnificient mile you will also get magnificient view of the lake michigan.

  • I have been a loyal customer of the Marriot for several years. I use it both for business & pleasure. I was very disappointed with my recent stay. I arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon to find that our room was not ready. I was told that we would receive a call with an hour. When we didn?t hear anything, I ended up calling call back to find out that it still wasn?t ready. This is unacceptable. We had travelled most of the day and the last thing we wanted to do was kill more time while our pre-reserved room was being cleaned. By the way, the room had a used water bottle behind the night stand and a blue towel (I presume from the previous guest) located on the coffee table. Nothing like waiting for a ?clean? room. In addition, the elevator had issues most of the weekend. The first time we experienced any problems was on Saturday morning. At which time, it took quite a while for the elevator to arrive. Once on, we actually endured ?turbulence?. I was almost ill when we arrived in the lobby. What a nerve racking and potentially dangerous experience. On Monday, the elevators were not working at all and were forced to use the service elevators. While waiting, we met several other guests on the 42nd floor who also had subpar experiences this weekend. One group had to change rooms a few times and then were spoken to very rudely when they complained. Another older gentleman ended up walking 14 floors because of the elevator issues. I really do feel that our experience this weekend was the worst I?ve had with a Marriot property. In the past, I have always valued the service that I have received at the Marriot.

  • We were very disappointed in our stay here. The room was extremely small, the lobby was under construction, the elevators were very slow. The staff was OK, but I expect a higher level of service from a hotel of this caliber. The only good things were the location & the bed was comfortable. There are nicer hotels in the same area for much less money.

  • We were very disappointed in our stay here. The room was extremely small, the lobby was under construction, the elevators were very slow. The staff was OK, but I expect a higher level of service from a hotel of this caliber. The only good things were the location & the bed was comfortable. There are nicer hotels in the same area for much less money.

  • The Marriott Magnificent Mile is in a great location - right on Michigan Avenue, 2 blocks from the subway (Red line), and close to many restaurants. While the lobby currently is torn up with construction, the upper floors are in great condition. This Marriott has the best exercise facility of any Marriott Ive ever been in, and the spa and pool are clean and relaxing. The staff are courteous and friendly, even when the lobby is packed with new arrivals. The biggest drawback is the $15 daily charge for high-speed internet access, which can be bypassed by taking your laptop to the second floor lounge for free wi-fi access.

The fitness room (machines and free weights) looks a little dated. Waiting for an elevator at check out took a long time.

  • We stayed here while on a week-end getaway to celebrate of daughters B-day. We had a simple check-in. Self-parking was very clode and affordable. Our room had a great view that overlooked to city and and the beauty of an ice covered lake in the distance. We were quit impressed with the elevators, a total of over 12 to navagate you through the hotel. Fitness and pool facilities were open to fulfill all scheduals. Staff was found throught the building to help with any issues. Was also located in heart of the shopping district on the Mile. We will stay here again. Great Job Marriott!!!

  • Hands down the most genuinely excellent service Ive had at a hotel. Many hotels instruct their staff to smile and say their pleases and thank yous. The result is often sacharine. For our stay, my fiancee and I could not stop commenting on the genuine warmth of this staff. EX: I was talking to my fiancee about where to catch the Metra Train and a bell boy just passing through and without being asked offered extremely helpful information. When we checked in we found a lovely room but one that had no fridge. We called down to say we loved the room but could we switch for 1 w a fridge. They said theyd BRING us a fridge. How much? Complimentary. How fast? 5 min. The Sunday buffet closes at 11. We arrived at 11:15. The staff said, you go ahead, well keep it open a little longer for you. The front desk was a joy to deal with. Bellboys were able to get us taxis at all hours of the day and night within seconds of being asked, even when many people seemed to be using their services. Delicious Angus burger and thick yummy fries delivered to our door in 15 minutes from a vry courteous rm service.Negatives? The elevators were slow, causing a bit of a crowd waiting due to delays.

They just want to sell rooms and they dont care if they have to lie to do it. But when it is all over they will assure you that you are the liar!!!

  • I loved this hotel! They let me check in 5 hours early even though I didnt call in advance. My room was on the 39th floor and had a killer view of downtown. It was extremely luxurious and even had a 2 person shower with massaging jets. I was never in the room since there was so much to see on the Magnificent Mile but everything about this hotel was luxurious. The staff was extremely helpful with directions and activity suggestions.

  • Beautiful room and view over the city. Elevators are a tad slow. Restaurant pricey but staff was delightful. Food was very good. Hotel staff aims to please. Only issue was valet parking and getting them on the phone. All questions were answered correctly. Bar was a nice diversion.

  • The Marriot on the Mile was absolutely the best location hands down if you are visiting Chicago on vacation. Once you walked out the door you are in the middle of everything. Every tourist attraction youve ever seen on tv or in a magazine are walking distance or just a cab drive away. The staff was really fast and helpful, and the room was excellent and clean. The bed was absolutely wonderful after a long day of walking. I know its always tricky when picking a hotel when going on vacation because you want to stay at a hotel that will be a pleasent experience and the Marriot on N. Michigan Ave. will not dissapoint. You will be in the middle of the whole Chicago experience.

  • My husband, son, and I stayed here for a weekend, and we couldnt be more pleased. We book online and got a discounted rate so for us the value was great. Out the front door, you are are in the heart of the shopping on the Magnificent Mile, out the back are nightclubs and restraunts, and various other shops. Parking can be a bit expensive, but right down the block is a lot that lets you park for $*. The pool is on the small side, so dont expect anything spectacular. The beds are super comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. I honestly have no complaints. The lobby is always bustling w/ activity since there is a bar and coffe shop down there. but it didnt bother us a bit. We are returning in November, and plan on staying there again. Location is PERFECT!

Everything was clean and neat. I honestly have no complaints. The lobby is always bustling w/ activity since there is a bar and coffe shop down there. but it didnt bother us a bit. We are returning in November, and plan on staying there again. Location is PERFECT!
