- Hotel is in a great location, right near shopping, but its not too loud for the area its in. The bed would have been comfortable, but the mattress was covered with a rubber pad, which made us hot and sticky during the night and squeaked whenever we moved. Also, EVERYTHING costs extra (even some bath products) so be careful!

- Ive lived in San Francisco previously and stayed in other hotels on other visits,but this WAS the best. Staff was friendly and very helpful, as when I had somemomentary trouble with my card keys. Excellent location to everything, trans-portation in particular. The rooms were quite clean, comfortable and the floorsquiet with very prompt efficient elevators. Maid service was great. Have nocomplaints. A fine, pleasant stay--will most likely return to the Nikko.

- My friends and I stayed there for 3 days during thanksgiving. The hotel was very good. There were big comfortable beds and a plasma TV in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us keep our luggages after weve checked out. The store room looked quite secure. Great location. Weve had a discount of $50 for booking the room with Mastercard, so the price is really good for the hotel. Wish they could provide free wireless service though.

- The Good:- Nice, clean rooms- Bathroom has separate shower and bath tub- Wide flat-screen TV- Close to Union Square; good for shoppingThe Bad:- Rooms were a little small but to be expected since this is SF- Location is a little too close to Tenderloin, not a good neighorhood- Didnt use Internal or the gym/pool as both requires extra charges; not happy with the nickel and diming your customers for little stuff like thatOther comments:- Received a good deal off for this weekend which is rare; if staying at regular rate, then it would not be worth it- Main reason for staying at hotel was to go for Sunday Jazz brunch at Anzu which theyve discontinued just a week earlier - just my luck. Didnt find out until I arrived. Still we went for their Sunday brunch which at $35 was good but not great value. Food selection was decent but service was excellent. In any case, much better than Sunday brunch at over-rated Ahwahnee in Yosemite Park, CA.- Parking can be expensive downtown SF - beware.

- The hotel has a feel of distant land but yet class written all over it. Service was very exceptional from check-in to check-out. Everything was wonderful until you open the door to your room. It was the most simplistic design i have ever seen, a bed, tv, desk and bathroom. The room was very small, felt like being on a ship and there were stains everywhere. In the bathroom curtain, carpet, sheets it was uncalled for. This should not be a 4 star hotel this should be a 3 star! The most annoying part was the amount of space in the room it was so limited 2 people felt like a crowd.

- We found Nikko Hotel by searching for San Fran hotels with a pool and a great location. This hotel is amazing. It is serene. The rooms are large. You feel as if you are the only guests there due to ultra quiet hallways, large rooms and immediate elevator service. The concierge staff is outstanding and always willing to help with tips for dining, transportation etc. The beds are plush with beautiful linens. The bathroom is spotless with separate shower and bath. There is a large flat screen tv. There was muted street noise on the 7th floor but nothing unexpected in a big city. I would love to stay here again. There is an unadvertised * per room fee for the pool but that is for your entire stay and well worth it.

- My wife and I actually book out trips out to San Francisco based on the availability of the Hotel Nikko. We just spent 3 days in San Fran for my birthday. We were in out room not more than 5 minutes when the manager had champagne and fruit sent to our suite as a birthday gift from them. It is almost embarrassing how well they treat you. There really isnt much to say beyond our raving endorsements of the Hotel Nikko. Oh, and the restaurant in the hotel, Anzu, is brilliant dining experience. It is a place like this that makes you never want to leave and go back to work! We love staying here and will never look for any other accommodations when we travel to San Francisco. Great job Nikko! For all of you reading this on online travel website, book your stay today!

- We stayed at the Nikko for a short weekend anniversary celebration, and were shocked as soon as we walked in the door. We walked up to the counter at 10:00 a.m., expecting to have our bags held, but without even having to ask, we were given a room immediately! And the room was great: views, bed, lcd television, cd player & tuner, bathroom, etc. Also a perfect location - easy walk to B.A.R.T. and cable cars. All around 5-star place! Rare - couldnt find a single complaint. Have fun!!

- It was a great hotel location and was secure after dark you had to show your room key to get access inside which was nice. The Starbucks inside the hotel was nice too although dont get a drink or food if you are planning on riding the public transportation b/c they dont allow food or drinks. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable although the room was warm b/c the cleaners had turned off the AC which made for a bit of a pain when we wanted to be welcomed by a nice cool room! The pool location is nice but its 10 a day per person so we didnt get in but they did allow us to tour it and the pool and jacuzzi looked inviting! The restaurant, ANZU was nice and not as dressy as we expected which was great - casual business seemed the norm so we were comfortable in our attire. The bathrooms were actually good size for a hotel and included a shower and a separate tub which was unexpected - also included a nice size vanity. We had a great view of the city and the bay as well. Great location for shopping and getting on the trolley, etc. The concierge was friendly and knew some good night life for different moods. Not a big party area but some nice local type sports bars - one across the street - Union Street Sports Bar I believe was the name. Also a bar called the Golden...Nugget maybe? Not sure of the actual name but it was a nice atmosphere. We will go again and will stay at Nikko again!

- If you want to enjoy Downtown San Francisco this Hotel is great. Not only it has a beautiful decor, Anzu (its restaurant) is excellent. The rooms price is very good and affordable. The rooms are confortable and cozy. It is a good choice.

- Got upgraded to the new Nikko Floor and the rooms are WONDERFUL. Stereo with surround sound, flat-panel TV, great bed and spacious room with couch and desk. Chocolate on pillow every night!

- The hotel is terrific - clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were always helpful and efficient. Restaraunt has delicious breakfast - didnt try other meals. I enjoyed trying a Japanese breakfast one morning. Pool costs extra ($10/day) but that is more than compensated by the low price of the room - I payed half of what I would have for the conference hotel next door. Pool is shallow so it might not be great for serious swimmers, but was uncrowded and pleasant with a nice jacuzzi. Location is ideal - convenient to conference facilities, shopping, transportation, restaurants. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in SF.

- This hotel is not a four star. We stayed on Level 13 and man it stunk like wet carpet. It gave it a bad Curry smell. I would not rcommend this hotel. You are bound to get harrassed by the HOMELESS people outside of Hotel NIKKO. Your better off staying in the Fishermans Wharf area.

- This was once a favorite hotel, but their standards have gone down. We waited 45 minutes for a room to be ready (at 7 pm). The gym was a mess. A glass was left on hallway table for 2 days. The hotel is failing at the little things.

- This was a great hotel all around. The staff was friendly. The room was wonderful - with nice modern decor, very comfortable bed, good size room and very nice amenities. I used the gym in the morning -- was a little crowed, but I was able to use the equipment without waiting.

- This inn is in a great location yet the rooms are very dated. Our room was tiny with torn dirty carpeting and a cracked sink that didnot drain properly. The tub was also ancient and stained. We stayed here because of travel guide reviews. It definately is in need of some TLC. The staff was okay and the morning breakfast was hardboiled eggs and packaged frozen muffins but this is an inexpensive inn. You get a bargain rate and recieve a stay in a less than stellar room but the price is a deal. If you stay here expect a fabulous location and get what you pay for.

- Dirty bed linen, carpets not vacuumed, bathroom vanity not cleaned. Furniture chipped, walls scuffed. Room service got the order wrong, internet service is an extra $10 a day, as is the fitness facility. But hey, after waiting in that long, long line in the lobby, youll be too tired to use either. Doorman so preoccupied talking with his buddies that he didnt even notice when my children said, ""thankyou."" Touch anything in the refrigerator, and you bought it.

- Nice clean upscale hotel near Union Square. Cant complain about the amenities, but the prices of ancillaries are high. $50/day for parking, $12.95/day for WiFi, etc. Still a nice place in a great location.

- This hotel was great. Right by Union Square, big comfy bed, nice big screen TV in my room. Big bathroom with separate shower and tub and also had a CD player in the room. Room service was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
