  • Great location, the train station is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Clean, great service, safe. Recommended for anyone who can afford it. And the hotel-airport shuttle makes it very convenient to/from airport also.

  • I stayed here one night in the East Tower which is for single travelers. It is very close to the Shinagawa JR Rail staion. It took about 5 minutes to walk with no stairs, there are ramps along the way. The room was compact as is Japan style. Well equiped with locking closet, refridgerator, and bath. The bed was a little thin with only one small pillow which is standard for Japan, but that is what cost it in ratings. Simple, functional, and close to the rail station. If you have a friend that can read Japanese and can book it locally you can get the room a little cheaper.

  • This was our last stop (for 2 nights) in a 23-day tour of Japan and the hotel sounded great on the internet. Although the location is excellent (on a major subway line and there is a direct high-speed train going to the airport at a 2-minute walking distance) and the staff is very pleasant, the disadvantages more than offset the plusses. Here are our specific complaints:1) the room was too small for two medium suitcases. The hotel did not want us to place one on the large window sill (alcove style), which would have solved the problem.2) the air-conditioning was the least efficient out of all the hotels or ryokans we stayed at3) the room and corridor smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking floor4) the pillows were very thick and hard. We slept without them5) our carpet had stains (cigarettes?)6) at 1 a.m. one night we heard a neighbour talking loudly but could not tell if it was above or below us or in the room next door7) to watch TV in our room (e.g. just to get a weather report) we had to pay a flat rate of $10 for unlimited use during the day7) to use the hotels pool, you had to pay $108) to use internet facilities, you had to go to a café in the hotel and buy something to drink. this allowed unlimited use of the internet (at no other place in Japan did we have to pay).We definitely will not stay here again. There is much better value for money in Tokyo.

  • This hotel at a great location right across from most subway lines and rail line to Kyoto. For kids cheap eats McDonalds & Starbuck in the area. The hotel includes a pool, bowling alley, arcade, cafe, stores and an aquarium. My kids 8 and 16 loved it and being from NYC - they dont say this unless they really mean it.

  • I stayed in this hotel for 26 days and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The beds were comfortable, the room was cozy, and the hotel provides every service youll ever need (from a general store (THREE of them) and clothing departments to high-class restaurants and everyday food courts). The JR is right across the way and the Mita subway station is just a fifteen minute walk down the road. There are only a few things I recommend not doing: 1) getting laundry cleaned is incredibly expensive 2) a few of the food court stands arent very good (the takoyaki, the ramen, and the crepes were the ones I tried and liked - the Chinese one not so much) and 3) dont forget to call the maids in the morning (their English isnt very good and they are very eager to clean for you and so its hard to explain to them that youre not interested). But I digress. Shinagawa Prince Hotel is even at the perfect location. You can take a straight shot to Asakusa via the Asakusa subway line, you can walk to Tokyo Tower if youre up for a morning or evening jog, and you can get to fashion hubs like Harajuku or Shibuya super easily by the JR. Im looking forward to going back.
