  • this was our first trip to orlando. The shuttle ride was very short to Disney. The hotel staff was great. Would definately stay there again.

  • Excellent accommodations. was very surprised..the room was so large with a living room, large bathroom, jacuzzi and french doors leading into the bedroom. It was much better than staying on the disney property..although the disney property was inside disney, these accommodations were 1/3rd the cost and the room was three times larger.

  • Excellent choice in price and vicinity; after trying to book a resort hotel in Dysney, finding a hotel close to Dysney downtown( you are within walking distance) at a reasonable price and with a shuttle service to the parks was relatively a bargain for the location.

  • The rooms were clean and comfortable. That is all I can say positive about this hotel. No microwave or refrigerator, basic cable tv, Internet $9.95/ day. I should have stayed at the LaQuinta one mile away where all the items mentioned above would have been provided for free as they are at most establishments.

  • This place was quite a disappointment. Judging by the pictures and location I thought it would be a great place to stay. When we got there we had to wait for nearly an hour in the lobby with a very active toddler until our room was ready. The staff was nice when we asked for updates but not apologetic at all. I thought our reservation entitled us to a room in the main building instead we were housed in a room that was in a wing of the hotel and smelled terrible, very poor quality. There were smoking rooms nearby and the smell of smoke filtered into our room all night. It was disgusting. The bedding was clean but the bed itself was very small and uncomfortable. Some of the towels had stains in them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you are traveling with children.

  • I selected this hotel because it had a 5 star rating. I was sorely disappointed when I discovered that the room was quite old and not as clean as expected. The carpet was stained. Rather than having exact temperature control (exact degrees on thermostat), there was a dial on the wall with ""cooler or warmer,"" making it impossible to know accurately control the climate to a comfortable level without several turns of the dial over many hours. The bathroom tile was not thoroughly clean. The coffee pot had old, stank water in it. They brought me a new pot but the coffee was horrific. I wake up too early (5 a.m.) for their downstairs cafe, so I couldnt get coffee there. The tv was old. The busines center only had two computers. It was always full and I couldnt access the internet (I left my laptop home). The menu was limited and frankly, pedantic. I believe that this hotel is being renovated and I was placed on the old side. Some of the front desk staff and the cafe waiters were great, very friendly but some of the giftshop workers need social skills training.

  • Overall, i would rate this hotel 4.0 out of 5.0..... If you are looking for good bargain, this is definitely a good pick. The hotel staff was very friendly, especially the front desk. Cleaning crew always said hi and good morning. The pool area is very nice and clean. Towels were on site as well, which made it easier than bringing your own. The restaurant on site is a little pricey.. considering the restaurants down the street were half as cheap for the amount of food you receive. We never ate there. The one GREAT we loved was that Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island was within walking distance and only took about 5-10 minutes at most to get there. Dont worry, you can walk there and back at night as well, the sidewalks are lit up. Like always, vactioners always run into some trouble though. Our only problem was the bus transportation system on one day and it really isnt the hotels fault. The water parks only run a bus 2 times a day and the last bus was suppose to come at 5pm at Blizzard Beach and it never came. We had to jump on a bus going to Epcot and then take another bus back to the hotel. Other than that, the trip was amazing and i would definitely stay at the Royal Plaza again.

  • They made us a FREE upgrade to DELUXE Rooms, i don't know why,INCREDIBLE!! . EXCELENT VIEW, ROOMS, BATHROOMS, LOBBY.. Near Disney and near Downtown Disney.

  • I thought this was a very nice hotel. The rooms were updated, clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. We walked to downtown disney, which was a nice break from the crowded shuttles. I would definetely stay here again and again.

When we finally got a room it was connected to the (Main Lobby) elevator that ran from 8am-11pm but, started up early every morning, it made the worst noises and truly was the worst rest I have ever received on a vacation especially, since it was connected to our BEDROOM! The rooms were nice but, only had BASIC cable. We will never stay here again.

  • I came for a week long stay with my husband. We thought the room was very spacious and nicely appointed. The bed was a little past its prime in comfort (sagged in the middle a tiny bit) but not bad enough to affect our great time. The hotel is close to everything you want to do, including fantastic restaraunts within walking distance. Our only complaint was with room service. They sent what they had when they ran out of what we ordered (i.e., plain yogurt when the menu had it as vanilla ; whole milk instead of skim milk) We would certainly love to make the trip back and would use the Royal Plaza as our hotel. The bus service to the parks was consistant and reliable, but the trips could be long...I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

  • Great location - right down street from Downtown Disney. Nice rooms which are larger in size than Disney Moderate Resort Rooms. Transportation to parks included. Cant beat it we live in Tampa and stay often.

  • We paid a pretty penny to stay here with a wedding party during Spring Break. The room was very nice. The bathroom was large, the bed was comfortable, the place was quiet. If I could do it again, though, I wouldnt stay here. You dont come to Disney World to spend all day in your hotel, after all. It seems like a convenient place at first, because of its proximity to the parks and attractions, but we wound up driving everywhere anyway, since we wanted to be there when the parks opened. Its a pretty place, but the price is a little absurd if you ask me.

  • Overall, it was a nice stay. I t wasnt spectacular , but the staff was friendly and the rooms were cleaned every day. The corridors and lobby were always clean. My wife started with an allergy attack and it seemed that maybe the previous guests may have smoked in the room by the balcony. Signs in the room state that it is a non-smoking room. It should be noted that although all the rooms have balconies, the sliding glass doors only open about 4 inches. Just enough to check the weather. We had one of the premier tower rooms that are was serviced by the glass elevator that allows for a beautiful panoramic view of the disney area. I had a room that overlooked northeast over I-4. Since I was on the 17th floor, noise was not an issue, but I could certainly see how it would bother someone on the lower floor. The hotel is about 3-4 loooooong blocks to downtown disney. A bit of a long dark walk at midnight, but just about a 3 minute drive .

  • Overall, it was a nice stay. I t wasnt spectacular , but the staff was friendly and the rooms were cleaned every day. The corridors and lobby were always clean. My wife started with an allergy attack and it seemed that maybe the previous guests may have smoked in the room by the balcony. Signs in the room state that it is a non-smoking room. It should be noted that although all the rooms have balconies, the sliding glass doors only open about 4 inches. Just enough to check the weather. We had one of the premier tower rooms that are was serviced by the glass elevator that allows for a beautiful panoramic view of the disney area. I had a room that overlooked northeast over I-4.   • We stayed there two years ago just after it was redone and were very happy, but the hotel has gone down hill since then. The front desk staff are nice, but the maid service is some of the worst I have ever encountered. One day I had to shower with a hand towel because they left no wash cloths. The hotel is not very clean. The lobby looks great, but when you get up on the room floors it is really getting run-down. The lighting in the bathroom was HORRIBLE! The bed in our suite was not as good as the fold out our son was sleeping on. The television channel selection is also horrible. We had several lights out in our room that were never changed even after requesting. The elevator wait is one of the worst I have ever seen. We started using the service elevators just so we wouldnt have to wait five minutes to get from the fifth floor. One day, they only had one elevator running and it was even worse! Carpet was dirty in our room. If you walked around with white socks on, they would get black on the bottom. The location is great, but from now on we are staying at the Hilton! Its closer to Downtown Disney and its much much cleaner!

We were told the Shuttle runs every half hour to the parks. One morning after breakfast about 10:25am we asked when the Shuttle bus would be here to take us to Typhoon Lagoon and were told it only picks up at 9:15 and 10:15am. So we had to take a cab another extra expense we were not expecting. The next day we took the shuttle bus to Blizzard Beach and were told the return trips are at 4:15pm and 5:15pm. We got to the bus stop at 5:05pm and waited with no bus. We had to make other arrangements to get back to the hotel. The next time we go to Disney we will stay at a Disney owned property.

  • Despite some bad reviews from previous travelers my daughter and I had a wonderful time. The minor problems I had were corrected. The manager X went above and beyond to correct for me.The staff was helpful and courteous. Cafe staff were very hospitable . The beds were comfortable, the view of downtown Disney for the fireworks display was perfect, the whirlpool tub relaxing, the fountain in the courtyard was beautiful, the convenience of the gift shop and Disney store in the lobby was great, the shuttle service for the theme parks ran every 30 minutes. I will stay again. .

  • Our stay at the Royal Plaza was one of the best yet. Weve stayed at many hotels, but found this one of the best- especially for the price and area. Its located right within the Disney Resort area, with free transportation to Disney, as well as many other discounts as well. Its located right near everything you need. The rooms were beautiful. We were in a traditional room and had our own personal porch out to the pool. The pool amentities and hot tub were beautiful. Staff were very courteous and willing to assist with any of your needs. The tennis courts were also a lot of fun as well! The rooms were very spacious- especially the King size bed rooms, and the beds were very comfortable. We would definately reccommend this to families and couples- disregard the other reviews, this place was beautiful and well worth the money and stay! We will definately be returning next year.

  • This was our first time to WDW, so we werent sure of the hotels location, but it was perfect. Its located on Disney property, so buses to the parks run every 30 min. all day long, and I was surprised to find out that you end up taking any bus thats coming to or going from your hotel. Its also within walking distance of Crossroads shopping area if you want to get away from the high priced Disney Resort area the opposite way. A $8-$9 cab ride got us to the Premier Outlet Mall, too, which was a great way to spend a day outside the parks. The hotel itself was much nicer than I imagined, although I wish the front desk clerks spoke English a bit better. There were problems with many of the room keys upon our arrival, so after waiting the four hours to check in at 4 pm, we had to wait around another 30 min. for security to let us in. We had problems with our room keys several more times throughout out stay. The hotel restaurant food was just as overpriced and lackluster as the Disney parks, so try to avoid it if you can. Take the 1/2 mile walk down Crossroads to the restaurants for a cheaper more filling meal. Despite us trying to ""go green"" and save energy by not throwing out towels on the floor to be changed out everyday as the bathroom sign said, the maid continually switched them out for us. I didnt understand this at all! Overall, I would say this is a decent 4 star hotel. If the restaurant had better food and cheaper prices and the front desk clerks spoke better English and were more upsale, it could be a 4.5.
