  • I and a friend shared a room to attend a conference. While we were not too crazy about the location (it was a 10 minute cab ride to McCormick Place, where our conference was held) the staff was friendly and courteous and our room was comfortable and clean. The security was fine and they helped us get a cab every morning. The Travelodge is an older building and could use some modernization, but I would stay again if the price was right.

  • I and a friend shared a room to attend a conference. While we were not too crazy about the location (it was a 10 minute cab ride to McCormick Place, where our conference was held) the staff was friendly and courteous and our room was comfortable and clean. The security was fine and they helped us get a cab every morning. The Travelodge is an older building and could use some modernization, but I would stay again if the price was right.

  • Went to Chicago to take in some ball games. This hotel was right downtown, one block from the red line train which allowed us to get to both ballparks. (Cubs & White Sox) In addition it was centrally located to all other attractions downtown. The service was very good across the board. Hotel was old but clean. The room we were in was a bit small if you were travelling with a family of 3 or more. It was fine for a quick stay though. Staff was very helpful with directions on how to get around town. Would stay there again.

  • Went to Chicago to take in some ball games. This hotel was right downtown, one block from the red line train which allowed us to get to both ballparks.   • The hotel was fine, close to the subway (one block) and the staff was friendly. The bathroom was nice, the rest of the room was okay for the price. The only problem was there were doing construction on the street. If you go in the next few months, I imagine you will have a lot of noise. I was awakened at 3 AM on night by construction equipment. The subway also goes by the hotel.

  • I stayed here on a trip to see my husband whos stationed up in Chicago. I enjoyed the hotel. Its very close the museums and shopping. Staff was very friendly. My room was even upgraded for free because they didnt have my original room ready when I checked in. Only complaint I have was that the bed was a little hard, not enough pillows and whatever they clean the sheets in caused a skin irritation. Overall though it was a good value for the price. Its in a great location and I would definitely go back.

  • This was a first time trip to the Windy City, the staff was very helpful to a couple of small town gals. The beds could have been a little softer, but we had plenty of hot water for showers. Overall its a great place to stay, we walked every where we wanted to go, which saved on cab fares.

  • With a low budget, we were able to find Travelodge to our liking. It was clean, close to everything we wanted to see and the staff answered questions and brought extra towels with haste. Our car was kept in the attached garage, but we were able to have our items stored until check-in. The kids stayed with adults at all times, but we were not afraid of our location. We will use this Travelodge again.

  • I will have to say the location of the hotel was convenient since we did attend the Bears game however the construction noise and train running most of the night was annoying. The windows had broken locks on them so was thankful we were on the 3rd floor. The TV was OK but the remote was not operating very efficiently. As for sleeping you already know the noise issue. The double beds we had were not real firm beds, my bed actually sloped downward. Housekeepng did not show up until late PM. Other than that not a bad place for the price.

The location is just a block off of Michigan Ave. Walking distance to the Shedds, and the Navy Pier. It had a wall safe in room to keep anything valuable. It had a small refrigerator, microwave, and a small kitchenette sink. I would definately stay there again. The price was right and it was nice. The beds werent the most comfortable, but for a few nights it was fine. The towels arent like the Hilton, but they still got you dry.

  • None of the other hotels were available so I decided to give this one a try. I read the reviews but thought maybe some people may have exaggerated, they didnt. I do travel often enough to have been in some really nice hotels but this one was my worse. I have been in motels that were better. I think they need to work on updating everything.The bathroom was the only thing that looked nice.The rest of the room looked like an old studio apartment.The furniture was old and the upholstered chair arms looked like a dog had chewed on it.The carpet felt very dirty like it left a film on my feet.If you looked out of the window of our room you only saw the fire escape. If you like nice up to date hotels dont go here you will be very disappointed. I think i have pretty nice taste and I was so disappointed in my decision to stay here. For $ a night I could of went somewhere else.

  • This location was a great spot to be. It is just off the red line and within short walking distance to the art museum and millenium park. The room we were in was really small but for a quick business trip it was fine. They did upgrade us on the spot without requesting to a slightly larger than the original room (pull out bed and 1 double). The hotel is obviously an old building that has been renovated multiple times. Overall, not bad but not 5 stars.

  • The room that I had was not a large room and it was over furnished. It had 2 full size beds, a desk that was not very usable, a 6-drawer dresser, and a desk chair. The desk was at the foot of one of the beds and so close that the chair was only usable in the area between the beds. This room was crowded with furniture and if that was not bad enough, I am handicapped and had a mobility scooter with me. I had requested a room that would accomidate my scooter, this room barely had room for my scooter in the entry way. It could not go any further into the room since the bed was in the way. I had called the reservation number on their web site to make sure that I would have the kind of room that I needed, but I didnt get that kind of room. If the room had had only 1 bed it would have been a much better room. I am not sure that I would ever stay at this hotel again. I stayed there once before and had a handicap room with all the room that was needed and I had hoped to have that kind of room again. They would not even try to find a room that would give me more room for my scooter, even if it wasnt a handicap room. Maybe they have all or most of their rooms over furnished like the one that I was in. I would be very reluctant to stay there again or to recommend this hotel to anyone.

  • Great location, down the street from some great resturants. Yolk is a great breakfast place. The staff was really friendly except for the cleaning guy who cursed in front of my 7 year old. He then noticed she was there and laughed.... Not even a sorry. The room was tiny!!!! In a double bed room we couldnt put the desk chair to the desk because there wasnt enough room in between the bed and the desk. It was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. The windows were so dirty, I could hardly see out of them The bathroom was very clean and updated. The rest of the hotel was pretty dated though. If was one of the less expensive hotels, but if I had noticed that there was no pool and known that it was going to be such a small room, I would have sprung the extra thirty bucks for a nicer hotel.

  • I stayed here for a Bears home game. The room was small and very dirty. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

  • In all matters of dealing with the hotel staff, I found them to be very rude and not helpful at all. Staff accused us of flooding the hotel room because of some plumbing problem on their part which was pouring water through the electrical lighting in the room below. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every noise from the hallway and all rooms surrouding you. The beds seem very outdated and I found it impossible to get a good nights rest. If you plan on spending some relaxing time in your hotel for vacation, this is definitely not the hotel for you. The rooms are very outdated in all aspects. Although it seemed the bathrooms have been updating, their plumbing problems dont make it any better. Lastly, the train runs right beside the hotel about ever 5-10 minutes which is very loud. If youre a light sleeper, you can guarantee a sleepless night. Wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone. Dont waste your money.

  • A nice room, 12th floor so should have not heard as much noise from the street as I did. Never was able to get the room to cool down to a comfortable level for me. TV remote didnt work so just like years ago, had to get up to change the chanel.When I checked out in the morning, commented to the clerk at the desk of my stay and got no positive reply. Told her the room we too warm and the remote didnt work and she didnt seem to care much less offer any apology.I wont be staying at this hotel again.
