If you expect Four Seasons level of anticipatory service or you really want a rice patty relaxed environment in nature, then choose either the Four Seasons or the Mandarin. The Four Seasons is closer to the elephants, monkeys and other tourist attractions that are fun for kids. If you want to be ""in town"" then the Shangri-La is in a nice location. Overally we had a great experience and would return, but little things like an upgrade in a hotel that was basically completely empty, would have left a nice impression.
