  • My friend and I went to Beijing (this was my 3rd trip there) to run the Great Wall of China Marathon. A friend of mine from Ireland recommended this hotel and knowing how particular she is about everything we decided to try this hotel. We were so very pleased. It is located a short walk (10 minutes or so) to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square through a very charming hutong area filled with little restaurants, art galleries, and shops. We had a simple clean room with 2 single beds, the rates were extremely cheap for Beijing (especially that area), and we liked the courtyard style of the hotel. The restaurant was ok, nothing special but Beijing is so full of fabulous food that it really didnt matter. We will stay here any time we go back to Beijing.

  • This hotel is in a very convenient location, a short walk away from Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, the subway, Wangfujing Street and the Donghuamen Night Market. The staff speaks English and is friendly and helpful. Our room had an in-room safe, 2 little bottles of water / day, hair drier, shampoo, toothbrushes/toothpaste, soap, lotion, great towels, an alarm clock, a good air conditioner, an internet connection and the TV had a few English channels. Off the lobby there was free access to the internet in the business center (with fast connection speed). We stayed 4 nights and it was quiet every night except one. Our room overlooked the area where they kept the bottles from the restaurant, and one night was bottle collection night. That was not quiet. The only other negatives were that there werent many drawers to put clothes in, and the beds were on the hard side - but we found that to be true at several of the hotels we stayed at in China (we stayed at 7 others). They did have a restaurant, but it was a bit pricey for the breakfast buffet (we didnt eat there any other time).I would recommend this hotel if you dont need 5 star treatment, but just need a nice clean place to spend the night.

  • Was a suprise after I check in to find out that the rooms are horribly small and the worse was it given a basement room more look like a shelter then a hotel room. Shouldnt be given a three star hotel and worse it kept mentioned is an American manage resort but it was purely manage badly by the Chinese. Suggestion to online travel shouldnt have this hotel under the list as it will only bring the image down
