  • Got an amazing deal online. Only downsides were expensive breakfast and parking - otherwise clean, comfortable, secure. Fitness room with cardio machines only. Renovation to finish soon. Bathroom small but clean with nice shower. We could get to Cambridge, Brookline, Newbury St., airport without a problem. Govt. Center blue/green T-stop HEFTY 4 blocks away (and slightly uphill with heavy luggage on the way back!) - Charles/MGH red T-stop is closer if convenient to your needs. Would stay here again/recommend to friend.

  • The renovations must be nearly done. Everything in our room was clean and well thought out with the exception of the actual tables and dressers. They were showing their age and needed replacing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The A/C was comfortable and the location was fine. The restaurant was a bit too pricey but being on a courtyard where a Whole Foods Store was located and in an area with a few local cafes and delis saved us. The T was easy to use and nearby, but sometimes it was difficult to find the stations. A good street map helps.Despite the current name, the hotel is in the Beacon Hill section of town and is not as ""industrial"" looking as it sounded. I hear the name will be changed soon. It is comfortable and homey for a hotel.

  • Location was great for Price, especially if you dont mind walking a bit and it is not far from the train.Near some good bars ( Red Hat and the HIll), delis and breakfast locations and A WHOLE FOODs store which is awesome. Rooms are a bit tight but beds were nice and rooms kept clean. It is noisy being in a busy area- and Saturday night lots of horns, sirens and revelers from the bars. IN and out of hotel. But would go back- walking Beacon Hill to the Common keeps the blood pumpin.

  • I took my daughter for a vacation and the hotel was great. The staff went out of their way to help us. The rooms were made up every day with plenty of fresh towels and amenities. The sub way station was about 3-4 blocks away (bowdoin station) and this was the most economical way to travel. The area around the hotel was safe and secure even late at night with a lot of foot traffic. Cabs readily available but with the 7 day subway pass @$*/person, that was the way to go. Easy to find historic landmarks and the trolleys for tours were great. I wish all of my hotel experiences were this pleasant. the furnishings in the rooms were a little dated but otherwise clean and well-maintained. would definitely stay there again.

  • We stayed for four days in June 2008 and were very pleased with the hotel. The hotel is not luxurious, but very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff were super--very friendly and helpful. But the best feature is the location. The rapid-transit station is within walking distance for most people, and there is a drug store, a cafe and a Whole Foods store close by.

  • Work still contines outside appaerently, staging is still up in Nov. but no one seemed to be using it. Valet parking is handy but not cheap, still worthwhile. Work on the rooms is uneven. New beds but the same old very tired furniture, which is neither attractive nor all that functional. Rooms are not large and bath is tiny. And yes the door hits the toilet and wont open all the way. Looks like the bath was designed for a round bowl toilet but some nimrod ordered elongated ones. Real glasses, not plastic cups, lots of H/W in the very large shower, but NO bathtub. The appeal is the location, especially if you are in town to go to the Garden. Just a few blocks away and a very easy walk. Downtown is close too. Theres a Whole Foods Store just up the street where you can get groceries and hot food/sandwiches, and small food and beverage stores, bars and restaurants nearby.

  • The staff here was excellent. They were friendly, outgoing, and always willing to help. This central location was great for touring the city. The downside of this hotel was the small bathrooms...the door hit the toliet! The rooms were just average in size, nothing special. I expected a little nicer facility because it was supposedly recently renovated...but we didnt spend that much time in our room so it sufficed.

  • We loved the Holiday Inn Boston at Beacon Hill. The staff were very professional and competent; the room was clean, safe and fully functional; and the location of the hotel couldnt be beat (central to nearly everything). We would DEFINITELY stay here again the next time we are in Boston. The hotel is also close to two subway (""T"") stops, so access to the rest of the city was a breeze.

  • This small, friendly hotel is in an excellent location. The staff is very friendly. I had requested a room with a view and had a lovely view of the Charles River. The beds and linens are super clean. While the furniture is a little worn, it does not change anything as far as how nice my stay there was. Words that are important: small, friendly, clean, convenient. The exercise room is open 24 hours a day with acess by room key. But you can just as easily walk to the river and exercise along the beautiful Charles River. There is a buffet/menu restaurant on the premises, but there are several coffee and bagel establishements right outside the hotel. The drug store and Whole Foods are right behind the hotel also. I would definitely stay there again next trip to Boston.

  • We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill. The convenience of the location was exceptional and the staff couldnt have been nicer. The rooms were good and a little dated, but the staff makes the hotel - they remembered us, asked how our sight seeing was going and made our kids feel special. We found ourselves looking forward to getting back to the hotel to tell them about our day!The hotels is near 4 different T lines - so you dont need a car to get around - and is a short walk to Quincy Market, the Boston Common and Public Garden and near the Charles River. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Boston.

  • Easy walk or short ""T"" ride to see the Boston sights. Whole Foods and several breakfast places nearby. Only suggestion would be to request a room above the second floor - the parking lot for Whole Foods/CVS is on the same level and we didnt feel we could open our curtains. We didnt request a change since we were out most of the day.We took the Trolley tour to get familiar with the city, then walked to most places. One of our best dinners was at Panificio on Charles Street just off Cambridge.

  • Pros :Convenient to airport via short subway ride. CVS, liquor store, & Whole foods & au bon pain next door..(we had a fridge in our room) Short walk to Beacon Hill. Room was clean & quiet, beds comfortable. Staff was very helpful.Cons: Too far for two seniors to walk to center of town where the major attractions were. We took subway. Hotel was supposedly recently remodeled but bathroom door could not be opened completely it hit against the commode! Bathroom was tiny! Exterior door only one lock worked, the next day they repaired it. Funiture was old & scratched.
