  • one person to checkin guests, long walk to elevator from room, TV was broken, safe was still locked from previous guest, only a smoking room available when we got there and it stunk, they wanted $200. more per night to upgrade room and we dropped over $1,000. in the casino over 3 days, it was my wifes B-day and she asked what they could do for us and they said """"Happy Birthday""""! One more thing. Our flight out was not until 11:30PM and they refused to let us check out even one hour past noon.

  • The room was nice and it was clean, the buffet was good, and I really enjoyed being on Freemont St. at night, the check in was quick and staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

  • The room was nice and it was clean, the buffet was good, and I really enjoyed being on Freemont St. at night, the check in was quick and staff very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Nugget. The rooms were very nice and the staff friendly.The pool was nice, except the lounge chairs were packed very close together which spoiled the atmosphere of the area.There is a lot to be said for staying downtown. We got lots of bargains on Fremont street which Im sure were not available on the strip.We saved a lot by travelling on the bus, and got senior discount cards at the central bus station.The bus was crowded and not that comfortable, so we did resort to cabs some of the time.

  • The only time we felt let down was when we first pulled up to valet parking and did not get bell service right away. I grabbed a cart on my own and they saw my need and from then on, first class! Decent sized room and well equipped for persons with disabilities. Marble batroom and nice decor made us feel special and we were in the cheapest rack we could get. We only ate at the buffet once and were not that impressed with the selection but the proximity to so many other places to eat on Fremont street made up for that. Staff was pleasnt to deal with and I liked the security at the elevators. Didnt try the pool but it looked nice although I expected it to be bigger. Cant help that with its location in the middle of the complex. Valet service was first rate and quick, even with our over height wheelchair van. Freemont street makes up for the fact that this is not on the strip, lots to do and see in a small, safe attractive area of town.

  • We booked this hotel b/c we saw it on the travel channel. The pool was very cool with the shark tank and the slide that goes through the middle of it. Lots of bigger sharks and big fish. The down side was that the pool was a little on the small side. You have to get there pretty early to find a decent spot.The beds were very comfortable. The TVs were kind of on the small side and had horrible reception.If you have a rental car good luck finding a parking spot in the garage. One night both valet and the garage were completely full and had to go through this huge fiasco to get free parking elsewhere.All in all it was a great trip, weve usually stayed on the strip, but this was nice staying on Fremont, it was easy to get around and go from casino to casino without all the hassle. Fremont street was like an outside shopping mall with knock off purses and sunglasses.

  • We had a blast at the Golden Nugget. The pool has a three story water slide and there is also blackjack tables at the pool. I dont recall seeing blackjack poolside at the other hotels. The cab ride to the strip is about $25 and that was the worst part of the trip. Definitely worth staying there if you can handle the cab rides!

It was not quite as glitzy as the Bellagio or Cesars, but if you want clean honest fun and a little peace and quiet in your room, the Golden Nugget is the place to be. The staff are really friendly, the room was perfectly clean and the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in at a hotel in a long time. Just what you need after a long day and night on the strip. But if you dont want to go that far Freemont street is right outside the door, it has shows and stuff going all the time. We would definately stay here again. The food was great, the staff very friendly and access to the store and some restaurants 24 hours a day. Thank you Golden Nugget for a great stay!!!!!!

  • blocks from the Las Vegas Strip is misleading. Other than $25 for a taxi, the only way to get to/around downtown is a bus which takes at least 30 minutes. Way too far and way too TACKY!

  • This was our second stay at the Golden Nugget and we had a blast. We were able to get a great deal on a spa suite. We were not given one of the new, updated rooms, but the room was very clean.The decor was very ""80s"", but we did not mind. It just added to the fun.We ate at Vic and Anthonys one night and would highly recommend it. Great service and great food! We were not able to get to the pool this time as it was pretty windy and a bit chilly.On a previous visit in May, we rented a cabana at the pool and it was great! The service is wonderful.There were only two negative aspects to our trip. The slots are very tight. We did not see anyone winning other than one person win 2,000 on a penny machine. We like to play 3 card poker. Most of the dealers and floor supervisors were very nice and alot of fun. However, the later evening shift on a Tuesday was an exception. The dealer asked the floor supervisor to pick up our 24 Karat cards (3 times) so that we could get credit for our bets. The supervisor completely ignored the dealer and us. If the floor supervisor is there when you sit down to play, dont bother.Over all we will definitley stay again. We really enjoy downtown.

  • HAD RESERVATIONS. FRONT DESK MANGER COULD NOT FIND US OUR REQUISTED ROOM FOR TWO DAYS. SLEPT ON A ROOLAWAY BED.

  • We really like staying here, except for one thing. The people that try to get you to go see the timeshare properties are too aggressive. Frankly it gets annoying trying to go to your room, or even leave your room without getting the "" Hi where are you from? How long are you staying? Let me get you some comps!"" They even have these vultures hanging out at the entrance/exit to Fremont St.The Hotel itself is one of the best values we have found in Vegas. The rooms are spacious and clean. We get a much nicer room for the same or less money than any of the places we have tried on ""the strip

  • We have gone to Las Vegas several times and always stayed on ""The Strip"" but this time on Fremont Street was a wonderful experience. The rooms at the Golden Nugget are clean and room service was prompt and very nice and that was a regular room not a suite, so you dont have to pay more to get better service. The casino was very nice too, I even hit a big jackpot the first night we were there, that was the first jackpot I ever won in Las Vegas. I brought my boyfriend to Vegas for his birthday so that paid for the whole trip and then some!!! I will be going back and will stay at the Golden Nugget again, it was great.

  • Went with the family just to check out the sites, Hoover Dam, etc and although we didnt go for gambling, we did enjoy our stay. The kids definitely loved the pool with the water slide that goes through the aquarium. Didnt like the fact that the gym was not available unless you pay to use the spa. But its a good deal for the money.

  • The Golden Nugget is a beautiful hotel and I loved every minute of it. However, each time we wanted to go to the strip we took a cab and it cost us $ each way. Yet, on our last day their we found out that there is actually a bus that runs from downtown to the strip for $ round trip per person. The pool is amazing but if you want to get a good spot you have to get there early. The pool opened at ten and I got there by 9:30 to have my pick of lawn chairs. The other thing is watch out what you order at the dive bar in the pool area....a double grey goose with cranberry juice was $. As for the restaurants in the hotel, the buffet if very good and reasonably priced. Carson Street Cafe has good food but I think the service could have been better. The service wasnt horrible but it could use some improvement. Lastly, if you are in the mood for a nice dinner, go to Vic and Anthonys steakhouse! The filet mignon is expensive but absolutely divine....I have never ate a better piece of meat in my life! Also, for sides, the broccoli and the au gratin potatoes are also delicious and they come in family sized portions. Entertainment wise, make sure you spend one night checking out the Freemont Street Experience because it is awesome. We left it till our last night there and only got to stay for 20 minutes. The light shows are very entertaining and everything is cheaper there.... $ Coronas. The shows start at dusk and go till around midnight.

  • Our stay was wonderful. Quickest check so far. Beds were comfortable. Rooms clean. Non-smoking was non-smoking..no odor.Fremont St. was awesome. Fremont St. has the cheapest places to eat and drink. Lots of things (shrimp cocktail, margaritas....** cents). Light show is totally amazing. Cant wait to come back. They have alot of security and police patrol Fremont so it is pretty safe. Just dont stray off Fremont at night. Conceige service A+.
