  • My wife and I stayed at this hotel October 9th thru the 15th of 2008. Here are the pros and cons.Pros:1. Cheap. We bought a package deal that saved us a lot of money. The hotel is located across from the beach.Cons:1. Very small room. The toilet in our bathroom would not flush all the way because of low water pressure. The bed was too hard.2. On 2 occasions, the maid service cleaned our room and did not put towels in the bathroom. When we told the front desk, they were rude.3. The hotel lobby has an annoying and overpowering air scent.4. This hotel was recently remodeled, but they forgot to remodel the bathrooms. In fact, this is my biggest complaint about my stay here. The bathroom in our room was awful!!In short, if you dont want to spend too much money and dont care about amenities, stay here. If you value service and expect a little more in a hotel, stay elsewhere.

  • Below is a brief list of the numerous complaints I had about the Claridge: 1) The night staff for the front desk were not helpful at all. When I arrived very late in the evening, they failed to mention that I could purchase a parking pass for my car for the lot across the street. Instead, I was informed I needed to get up before 8am to make sure I fed the meter before I got a ticket. The next day, after I woke up early and fed the meter, the day staff informed me I could have purchased a parking pass and slept in. 2) The walls are paper thin. My neighbor liked to sleep with his tv on. I didnt sleep either night that I stayed there. In fact, my neighbor kept the tv going at full blast my second night when he left for several hours around midnight. It took me multiple calls to the front desk to have them come up to the room, wherein they entered and turned off the tv for me. A half hour later, my neighbor returned and turned it back on. 3) The hotel advertises that one of their amenities is a conference room, complete with phones, faxes and printers. It was a room with a table. I had to find a kinkos to get documents printed. 4) I didnt have water pressure. In fact, the shower knob fell off when I went to take a shower. 5) There was sand in my bed my first night. I hadnt yet been to the beach.

  • Very impressed. Lovely hotel which has recently been re-modelled with a Spanish hacienda flavour. Excellent spa in the middle of attrium and restaurant on site. Bus stop directly over the road from hotel and a $2.00 fare will get you just about anywhere in Miami. Clean beach virtually directly opposite hotel, (about 50 metres),Could not fault the room or service, except for a faulty remote control for the tv which was a minor annoyance.Would definately stay there again.

  • Found this hotel using traveler reviews and photos on website - had never been to Miami before. The historic beauty and charm of this hotel have been well-preserved - hotel was clean, well-kept, and cozy, with period furniture and decor throughout. We were given a room on the first floor, but discovered the room was handicap-equipped, which we did not need. Upon asking about it at the front desk, we were immediately moved across the hall to a small suite. The extra sitting area was nice to have, and the bed was the most comfortable Ive slept in as far as hotels go. Little Mediterranean restaurant on-site called Hola Lola - breakfast was inexpensive and delicious. Only mild hassle was parking (not unusual for Miami), which is metered both on the street and in the lot across from the hotel. Parking was free at night, but $0.25 per half-hour during the day, even on the weekends. Had to scramble for change to feed the meter on Sunday morning! Otherwise, a thoroughly delightful stay. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

  • I stayed here for one night during a trip in South Florida. The pictures do not reflect all the beauty of this hotel that seems realy brand new. Staff was realy great. The Bedroom and its bathroom were very nice. The bedroom that I had with a complementary roller bed can easily accomodate 5 personns.Location is a few minutes drive from the art deco district and is very quiet. You can even walk to this place with the nice wooden walk way along the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is very nice as well. There is a parking lot just across the street that is free during the night. The area is very safe. I would definitely stay again in this beautiful hotel.

  • Booked a deluxe room online but was informed after the fact that rooms were sold out and we were upgraded to one of the two penthouse suites. Nice room with access to roof deck which was a big space that would have been made better by providing the appropriate lounge furniture. We asked for and were provided with a chair to put outside to take advantage of it. The room is very nicely decorated and the housekeeping staff kept it well maintained. The hotel has a nice restaurant -- Hola Lola -- which was good for dinner but not great for breakfast. For breakfast we experienced undercooked bacon and sausage which had us getting take-out after the second day. Dinners were good, although the restaurant seemed sparsely attended. The front desk staff is wonderful in the morning through early evening -- very friendly and helpful. The front desk at late night seems to be a little more stand-offish. Parking is right across the street in a municipal lot and the hotel offers passes which cover parking -- just ask the day staff. The beach and the boardwalk is just beyond the parking lot -- very convenient. Lovely hotel. I would stay there again.

  • The Claridge was a very nice hotel. The only issue we had was that 1 of the knows on the sink was broken and we had to turn the water on from under the sink for 1.5 days, which was a pain; especially since they did not comp anything for us! The property was very clean and the bar was nice too.
