  • The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful, and there was a wonderful complementary shuttle service that brought us to and from the U.S. Open. The room was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast (although very packed, without adequate seating -- we had to eat in our room) was very good and had a very wide selection (from cereal to waffles to bagels and sandwiches). There is not much to do within walking distance of the hotel, but the location is very accessible and easy to find from the major highways. I will definitely return to these very comfortable and convenient accommodations during future U.S. Opens!

  • This was my first trip to NYC; the hotel was clean, the service was great, the shuttle was convenient. The train ride into NYC took a little bit longer than I anticipated (about 45 minutes to Time Square), but all in all, not bad. Its a great alternative to the expense of staying in Manhattan.

  • This was my first visit to NYC and was not sure where to stay- so I relied on these reviews before I made my reservation and I was not disapointed. This was a very clean, well run hotel. Very easy to get from LGA airport and all ponts of interest.

  • Rooms were very clean, staff was helpful and location wasnt bad for visits to Manhattan (plan for about an hour for shuttle, walk and train). Hotel shuttle drops off two short blocks from 7 train which is a 35 minute ride to Times Square in Manhattan - most above ground so you get to see Shea Stadium (home of the Mets), Billy Jean King Tennis Center (home of the US Open) and a pretty decent view of Manhattan going into the city. Hotel Shuttle runs until midnight (from 4:30am-noon it runs every half hour and after noon to midnight it is by request) and on Friday after a great Broadway show until 11:00 felt very safe walking to the shuttle pick up area (you are walking through Chinatown in Queens however so stay alert). The train station sells the Metrocard which is a must is you plan on doing any subway riding around NYC - an unlimited day card is $7.50. Hotel allowed us to check in early and also kept our luggage on our last day so we could make another trip into Manhattan since we had an evening flight home. Hotel is only a 15 minute ride from LGA. There arent any restaurants within walking distance however they have several menus for Asian and Italian that will deliver to hotel. This isnt the place to stay for amenities but for NYC on a budget it is an excellent choice.

  • I wasnt expecting anything grand. I picked the fairfield because it is run by the Marriott company so I knew i would atleast get a clean room. The room was clean, pretty and the bathroom was pretty big, so my stay was comfortable. Concierge very nice. The draw backs for some travelers would be the location. It is NOT located close to any subways and there is nothing in the neighborhood but the movie theater therefore I wouldnt recommend this hotel for tourists that are looking to site-see But if you have a car (like I did) major highways where only a few blocks away. They offer free Breakfast!! Enjoyed my stay here

  • The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean. I had a problem with the toilet not flushing two of the 5 days but each time, they fixed it as soon as I asked. The location is not ideal for people who need to do business in the city as it takes a very long time to get there. I just moved from Manhattan so I am used to convenience and there wasnt much in this area. I had to drive to the nearest restaurants and pharmacy, etc. Even the train was very far from the hotel. Even though they say the shuttle drops you at the train, it actually drops you two blocks away and when you call for a pick up, you may be waiting for 20-30 minutes like I did. If you do have a car, you will probably have to park on the street because there is barely any parking. Many restaurants deliver to the hotel, but it can feel very isolating to just stay in the room at night. I would recommend this hotel mostly for those who have an overnight in NY and need to get to LGA in the morning.

  • A great small motel in Queens. Not scenic by any means, surrounded by commercial/industrial area, but it feels safe and is very convenient to LaGuardia. The room and lobby felt very modern, recently renovated and clean. Wired internet in the room. We arrived by car ( free parking) and drove into Manhattan. Apparently shuttle service is available to the #7 train into Manhattan also. The price was at least $* less than anything comparable in the city.

  • This hotel was very clean and included breakfast. I am a stickler for bathrooms and this one passed my scrutiny. We had good luck with the shuttle service and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. You get a true NY experience here because you get dropped off two blocks from subway station and walk through little chinatown to the 7 train which takes you into the city through some very ethnic neighborhoods in queens. (these are long city blocks so if you are elderly or out of shape, this is not the place for you). We never felt our safety was in jeapardy and you can buy a metrocard for $7 that will allow 4 trips on the subway along with transfers which is MUCH cheaper than a cab.

  • We stayed in the hotel in Dec 2007. and based on my experience, I would not stay there again. The Hotel had a free shuttle service that was advertised as dependable transportation. It was anything but dependable - It took 35 minutes to be picked up at the airport, after I was quoted """"10 minutes"""". When the shuttle arrived, it was nothing more than an over-used economy van. The hotel also provided shuttle service that dropped us off 2 blocks from the Subway Station. This proved non-reliable, so much that one day we ended up walking the 1.5 miles to the subway station.

  • If you want to hit a Mets game, this hotel is great. Otherwise, the location isnt convenient. They tell you they have shuttle to the subway, but it drops you two blocks away. Then the ride into Manhattan is very long. When you call for the shuttle to pick you up, the wait can be half an hour or more, and its really too far to walk, especially since its in an industrial area. That means the hotel gets noisy on weekday mornings, too. Also, there are no close restaurants either, without a car its pretty isolated. The rooms were fine.

  • Very, very, friendly staff, hotel is well kept. Delicious breakfast. Rooms are spacious and clean. For New York, this is a bargain. Staff is incredibly accomodating and very polite. When I requested a refrigerator for my daughters medication, even though they had none available, they filled a cooler with ice and delivered it to our room ASAP. The drivers not only can take you 2 blocks to the nearest subway station, but also they gave us a ride to this really nice Italian Rest and back!!!! Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Also, after hours only guests with a room key can get past the front door. Free internet connection, which was a plus when we rented a car on third day and were able to go to Mapquest and print directions, all this free of charge!!!!!! Do you know how much some hotels charge for internet access??? I plan to go back for the holidays and will definitely stay here again.
