  • I couldnt have had a worst stay. Rude staff who just didnt have a clue how to do their jobs. The hotel bar closed at 12:00 on a Saturday night. The valet cost $* dollars, then lost my car for 30 mins, then was considerably less than subtle about trying to get a tip. Then the bedspread had a stain, the toilet was loose/broken. If you stay here be prepared to have an awful time. The only thing passable about this place is the location.

  • This hotel has a nice location central to Union Station/ underground walkway and the subway station. The rooms are really nice with a view of the city and the water. What I liked the best was all the amenities in the room a microwave/ sink/ dishwasher/ washer / dryer The room was nicely decorated and really you cd not ask for a nicer room for the price

  • I arrived at the hotel late (11:30pm) on a cold February night. The bar was full, and there was plenty go on. The staff was very friendly and my room in the old tower exceeded my expectations. The king bed was very comfortable. I didn?t use the room?s kitchen. The free wireless from another hotel was a bit slow. This hotel C$10/day for wireless was not any better. The room was large and had an internal (not wall unit) heater that was quite. Starbucks was just across the street for breakfast. The bathroom was very small, but clean. The kitchen included under-counter washer and dryer. I would definitely stay here again. Check out the old Bank Vault downstairs.- Watch for C$40/night for parking.

  • I would strongly reccomend this hotel and would stay there again. A few tips will make your stay even better. Ask for a room in the HISTORIC part of the building, the suites are larger, have a better layout. The 11th floor of the historic was great. Its worth sacrificing the """"view"""" for more sensible space. Do go to HYS STEAKHOUSE - Bardis is also a great choice, as is Amadeus. The hotel as a whole is not typical in the sense that any type of room service or extras are very reasonable and has great in-room amenities. Finally, the hotel is a great bargin and a recognized location.

  • So bad hotel Ive ever been to with this price. This one is not for business traveler for someone who wants to cook and clean dishes and clothes... Hotel doesnt have adaptor for consent. building is divided into old section and new section high place. I was located in the low stair with nothing to see outside hidden by the other building less than 10 meters away So awful... I will never come again.

  • This hotel is in an excellent location-close to everything. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a classic car service that takes you where you need to go--it was great. We went to """"We Will Rock You."""" It was excellent! I highly recommend it. The theatre is only a few blocks from the hotel. Lots of available shopping, but Toronto prices are high! I would definitely stay here again. They upgraded our suite-we had a spectacular view on the 27th floor.

  • This hotel met and exceeded all my expectations!I was so astonished at the price that I called to speak to an online travel websites agent (who was very nice), to confirm, once I had looked at the Hotels Website. The room was very modern, beautiful and well appointed. There was nothing left out. Washer, dryer, fridge, everything you need to cook a meal and excellent service on top of it!The car service was the icing on the cake and the staff was accomodating and friendly. The breakfast offered downstairs was wonderful, I liked the options for the buffet it you wanted a lighter meal, and the bar made one of the best Martinis Ive ever had.Downtown Toronto is loud and noisy, but youve never know it in my quiet, comfortable room.

  • This is a nice Toronto suites hotel located at Young and King which is close to most major Toronto attractions. This hotel is not ceap. A decent room will cost in the $* to $* range. Internet service is not included nor is parking. Valet service is mandatory if parking your vehicle and the rate is an extra $* per day. There is an extra fee again for Internet and North American phone calls.Hotel does not have a standard pool. The have a small reistance pool but it has been closed down for some time. They have a wirl pool that is open. The hotel offers a fitness centre on the 17th floor that is adequate and features two eliptical trainers, a couple of exercise bikes and three treadmills as well as some free weights. There are male and female saunas available in the gym area as well as shower facilities. The gym tends to be full during the morning hours. The food at this hotel is average yet expensive for what you get. You will be much better off eating out. The general area around the hotel is packed with excellend restaurants. There is not access to the parking garage. If your car is parked, you must call the valet service to get your car for you while you wait. Expect an average 10 minute wait for your car.Rooms are generally clean and quiet. Expect long elevator waits.Valet staff are good and so is the front desk staff. Houekeep staff are luck-of-the-draw. I left a note asking to be left an extra face cloth. When I returned to my room there was a note from the housekeeper telling me ""no"" becuase they do not have a sufficient supply. How funny is that!? This is suppose to be an upscale hotel.

  • This hotel is in a great location, the rooms are modern and well kitted out, but the staff are horrible. The staff and management, were reactive instead of proactive, rude, and were generally very slow to respond to requests - with the exception of the concierge x who was really amazing with everything I needed and truly belongs in a far more prestigious establishment. My room was a corner unit with lakeview, I stayed for 2 weeks and my suite featured a fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and, washer and dryer. The hotel is very good value if you are staying in town for an extended period of time and dont have to interact with the staff too much. You can cook meals and do your laundry (you supply your own washing supplies and such - purchasable from the shop in the lobby or the nearby supermarket at Church and Front). Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired as it was inconsistent and generally unreliable; if you called and asked for something you didnt have much chance of getting it in a reasonable amount of time. If you plan on using your stove, make sure you bring your own pots as there are a ""limited number"" in the hotel and the ones they do have arent large enough to boil an egg in, nevermind cook something reasonable to eat. Overall, a good hotel as the rooms are bright and furnished to a higher then average standard, but overwhelmingly disappointing on the staff and service front.

  • The room was exceptional. I particularly loved the corner double window nook in which they had perched a desk in which to work. I was on the 29th floor so had a spectacular view as well. There was a washer , dryer, refrigerator and microwaver. I could have easily lived there practically forever. The location was perfect.

  • I booked a room in The Suites At 1 King West for a night (May, 3 2008) so that I could fly into Toronto and not have to drive a great distance to get to my final destination. The person at the front desk was very pleasant as she denied my request to be in the new tower on a floor that would give me a nice view of the city. I didn?t think that would be an issue given what appeared to be a great number of vacant rooms available judging by the lack of people in the lobby and bar area.Instead, after she verified that I had booked my reservation through the travel website, I was given a room in the ""Historic Section"" of the building on the tenth floor. The ""Historic"" part of the building was built around 1906 and was good for the times. Even after several upgrades, it still isnt desirable by today?s standards, even at one quarter of the cost. The windows are single pane, uninsulated, wooden windows that should have been replaced years ago. Due to the windows and the proximity of the room to the street below, the noise from the traffic was enough to keep me from getting a well deserved nights sleep.I have read several other reviews and noticed a disturbing trend.... those that stay in the new tower seem to enjoy their rooms, while those that are relegated to the ""Historic"" part of the building are not at all happy with their rooms.I hope that the managers of The Suites At 1 King West will read this review perhaps change their policy on placing guests in the ""Historic"" section of the building. My guess is that ""one-nighters"" that book through a third-party will be very unhappy!

  • Requested a room on the highest floor possible, with a lakeview. I got the lowest floor they even have rooms on, with a city view. Instead of seeing the lake, I got to see a homeless man in an alley. After asking if there was a possibility to get another room, i was told rudely no, and did i want it or not. As if I had an alternative hotel booked as a back up? Just one of the few annoying events that happened during my stay. Do NOT stay at this hotel.
