  • Hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Really enjoyed the breakfast - nice selection. Location is good - only two blocks from the French Quarter and safe to walk to and from. Parked my car and never used it - walked everywhere - convention center, restuarants, casino, etc. Free high speed internet - although not wireless - worked well. Good shower and clean bathroom with lots of good towels. I try to stay here every time I am in New Orleans!

  • This hotel was great. My family decided to take a spur of the moment trip to New Orleans over spring break. Highly recommend for a family on a budget. The rooms were clean, their was a small heated pool that my kids loved and a free continental breakfast. Also we were just blocks from the aquarium, the insectitarium and the french quarter. The only problem we had with the room was that our room didnt have a fridge or microwave. I did like the fact that we were not right in the middle of the french quarter which can get very noisy at night since we were with the kids. Would definately stay there again.

  • The hotel was fantastic. The decor and atmosphere is perfect from the moment you walk in the lobby. The staff was exceptionally friendly and personable. The breakfast was great...and the make-your-own waffle station was a nice treat. The location was perfect for us. Its an easy walk to the French Quarter, but being just outside was nice for getting some much needed rest.

  • I booked a room which was on the small side but it was clean. The hotel has character since it was a historic building and the exposed brick, high ceilings and windows made it look more charming than the average hotel. Around 11 pm the first night I noticed and killed a cockroach and 5 minutes later, saw another. I then called the front desk. They apologized and told me they would upgrade me to a suite and they were sending someone with the new key right away, which they did. The suite was greatand saw no other cockroaches. Room service mangement checked each day that we were satisfied with the cleaning. They provided plenty of towels, extra pillows and the breakfast was pretty good. I would stay here again and would consider the suite.

  • My family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and it was awesome. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice a clean, a tiny bit on the small side compared to other 2-queen-bed-rooms Ive stayed in. But it was just fine. The morning breakfast was WONDERFUL. If you left hungry it was your own fault. The front desk always had complimentary fresh baked cookies on hand. Sometimes they would even still be warm. OMG! It was a great location. Very convenient to everything. 1 1/2 block walk to trolley stop. Felt very safe. The vallet parking is WELL worth its money. You can take your car in and out as many times as you need w/o paying any extra. The vallet guys were very nice and respectful. The hotel employees were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel was gorgeous. We caught a deal and that discount was enough savings to pay for vallet parking. All in all... It was a much better deal than we had initially booked for this trip. When I found this hotel, i cancelled other reservation. The beds were much more comfortable than normal hotel beds.The pool was samll but that was ok with me, my small kids were the only ones who wanted to swim anyway. So it was great for them! Loved that it was heated. They got to swim in November. what a treat!!!I will DEFINITELY stay here again!!!!! I cant wait to go back!!!

  • Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, cool architecture, free breakfast, free cookies ... really, how could it be any better? If you are looking for something right in the middle of the French Quarter, this is actually a couple blocks away, but we really liked that we were not in the middle of everything because it was quiet at night! Would definitely stay here again.

  • the hotel is clean and nice. the only complant i have is one of the other reviews mentioned seperate sleeping and living rooms????? the room we got was very small, but again it is clean and feels safe and thats most important in this area. would recommend.

Beware, though, that parking will set you back $23 a day. The staff had me convinced the first few days I would never see my car again if I parked on the street but that wasn't true. Otherwise it was close to the action and comfy

  • Location was perfect. We opted not to stay in the Quarter to have some peace and quiet. Just 2 blocks outside the Quarter though. 2 blocks from Harrahs which was perfect when we had that itch to gamble. Hotel was clean and staff were very nice. Had a suite w no window which was kinda strange and felt quite clausterphobic. Asked for a different suite and was quickly accommadated and they even moved our belongings to the new suite while we were out on a tour for the day. The bartendar X is great! Very nice, welcoming guy. The free continental breakfast is not that great. Had it one day when we didnt have time to get breakfast before a tour. But who cares, its free and we didnt come to New Orleans to eat at the hotel. Pool is on the small side..no, tiny side. Didnt have the chance to enjoy it but it seemed it would be okay if no one else is in it,Overall, perfect for the price!!

  • This hotel has real character. We loved the old restored warehouse feel. It was very nice and had New Orleans flair. Very close to Harrah's and also a short walk to Burbon Street. Located in a safe part of town, we felt comfortable walking back even at 5am. Around this hotel, there are others being restored so the area is booming. We will return!

  • This hotel has real character. We loved the old restored warehouse feel. It was very nice and had New Orleans flair. Very close to Harrah's and also a short walk to Burbon Street.   • What a great place to stay! By being located on the outskirts of the French Quarter, we were able to walk to everything. The valet service is definitely recommended, as parking is an issue in the Quarter. The room was clean, the staff and service were excellent, the bed was soft and the continental breakfast was nicer than most. The building is amazing, interior brick walls, wrought iron railings, exposed beams. Very nice. But most importantly, the bedroom is separate from the sitting area and the room has two televisions. Both very handy when traveling with a two year old. The only negative thing that I noticed was that the walls seem to be very thin. We could hear the conversations from the room next door, but it was not intolerable. We will definitely return.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for five days while in town for business. The hotel was clean and beautiful. One block fom Canal and right in the middle of everything but far enough to get a good nights sleep without the drunken madness from Bourbon St. We walked everywhere we needed to go. We did rent a car on the last two days of our trip i norder to drive to Baton Rouge and we found a parking lot right around the corner from the hotel that only charged $15 for the whole night. The hotels valet started at $25 for a few hours. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to New orleans. Breakfast was good very crowded on the weekend. The outside courtyard was nice to sit and read a book. Overall, great hotel and good value.

  • My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip and when we got there, the hotel was a pleasant surprise! Our first two nights were in a regular king size room which was pretty small. The third night we upgraded to a suite, which was AWESOME! It was a lot bigger. The location was great, and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was great as well.   • My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend trip and when we got there, the hotel was a pleasant surprise! Our first two nights were in a regular king size room which was pretty small. The third night we upgraded to a suite, which was AWESOME! It was a lot bigger. The location was great, and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast was great as well. I will definitely stay here during my next visit.

  • I LOVE this hotel - I stayed here 1 month before Katrina and the hotel is exactly the same now - very well maintained and cared for. For its class of hotel it is perfect - the rooms are tastefully and well appointed, clean and comfortable, the service is friendly and accomodating, the common areas are bright and lovely and it is altogether a very handsome hotel in a great area. Excellent bargain.

  • I LOVE this hotel - I stayed here 1 month before Katrina and the hotel is exactly the same now - very well maintained and cared for. For its class of hotel it is perfect - the rooms are tastefully and well appointed, clean and comfortable, the service is friendly and accomodating, the common areas are bright and lovely and it is altogether a very handsome hotel in a great area. Excellent bargain.

  • Country Inn and Suites was wonderful. The continental breakfast was good, but heavy on carbs, not much protein was offered. The floor I was on was very quiet. The brick walls must of had something to do with that! The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a nice job everyday with my room.The front desk staff was professional and friendly. Asking questions about where to eat nearby on my first night lead me to ""Mothers"" just 2-3 short blocks away. It is very close to the French Quarter without actually being in the very crowded area. I would recommend this wonderful hotel and would definitely come back. The price, location and people were fantastic.

  • Clean, reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the french quarter. But very noisy. Walls are thin and do not seal well against ceiling joists. I could see light from the neighboring room and hear every word they said. Floors are not insulated and I could hear every footstep. Door had an inch crack underneath and I could easily hear elevators, lobby and hall traffic. Dumpsters are emptied every morning at 4:30 am.

  • We have stayed at Coun try Inn and Suites twice this past year and would definitely stay there again. It is very close to everything we want to see or do. The staff is awesome. From the front desk to housekeeping and valet service. I cannot praise them enough, they do a wonderful job. My son and his baby stayed with me and they provided a crib for us which was a big plus. I wouldnt even look for another hotel after staying there, The prices are very reasonable, all of the services they provide are great.

  • Though the hotel room was the size of a postage stamp, for a single woman traveling it was adequate. The personel was very courteous and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I felt completely safe walking in and around the hotel. Harrahs is a quick stroll of 2 blocks. Insectarium is very close also and the french quarter. I paid a little extra for the pillow top mattress upgrade. It was like sleeping on a cloud. Love that Southern Hospitality.

  • Three woman from Canada stayed here in March and found this to be an outstanding hotel. It is charming, extremely clean and welcoming. Location is walking distance to everything. Staff were friendly and accomodating; we needed a room change and were given a suite. The breakfast was very good although busy. We will highly recommend this hotel to all who travel to N.O. and hope to return.......

The facility has a unique character (exposed beams and tall ceilings), which are no doubt remnants of whatever the building was originally built for. The location was good--close to the French Quarter and Canal Street. The neighborhood is mixed use, which includes a few restaurants, but also some empty storefronts, light industrial use, and vacant buildings being renovated. My room was on the first floor overlooking a not so attractive alley. Overall I would stay here again.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay. Bed was comfortable, room clean, and with good cosmetic looks, in spite of being created by putting together a number of buildings. It ovrlooked an alleyway with bright light at night but curtains were excellent in blocking the light. Because there isnt a restaurant, room service isnt an option but the in-room coffee was enough to get started in the morning before going down to the continental breakfast. Unique was the ability to make your own waffle, using a premeasured batter and a waffle iron with a timer. Eggs and sausage that could be reheated were so-so. A variety of pastries, cereals, breads, yogurt, and fresh fruit were also available, as well as coffee, teas and juices. The petite pool was heated- appreciated the cool evening we had a chance to use it. The exersise room was small but the equipment was in good working order. And several times during the day a batch of fresh baked cookies were available as you walked through the lobby. Even if you didnt partake the smell was wonderful! A brief message about New Orleans- if you like good food and good music GO! They very much appreciate your business and realize you are helping their economy. We were walking down a street looking at a map and a lady stopped us to ask if we were lost and needed any help. Never in New York! It is slowly recovering but has a long way to go. Because many of the service workers havent returned places are short of help and wait times may be longer than expected, but folks are doing the best they can and with a smile. Spend your economic stimulus package in the U.S.- we made a conscious decision to keep our money here.
