  • We were very dissapointed. The room was excellent, but there was no restaurants, no pools, no lounges, no bars, no beauty salon, NO AMENITIES at all. The conceirge was not helpful and when checking out, they charged us for every single mini bar candy without having touching one (@ $8 a piece). I had to go to front desk to fight it and they deducted it from the bill. Rooms are very good if youre going with the family.

  • If you are going to stay here make sure the pools are open. THere was a lot of construction which comes with its share of noise and inconvenience. No restaurants in the hotel only room service or $20 breakfast buffet. If you have small children the walk from the rooms to the outside pool and beach area could get long. Personnel was friendly, rooms were clean but I would wait until the construction is over to visit. The beach is a little dirty but the beach assistants were helpful with Miami information.

  • The hotel is just open after a fully redecoration and redesign. Rooms are small, service is very poor, Internet dont work, if you request assistance by phone nobody solve your problems, etc..When I arrived at hotel, even it was not full, they gave me a room in the 4th floor in front of all the air conditioning equipments, looking to the roof. Worst than a dog house¡¡¡ I need to fight to change it¡¡¡We went for a breakfast to the restaurant, we were seated for one hour and food never arrived so we decided to stand up and quit. The spa is not working yet.I fully recomend to not come till at leat six more months.Even considering one night is free, its expensive for this hotel

  • I last stayed here 39 years ago. Having been on MB several times in the last year I decided to try it again. My one concern was that the online travel website reviews since its reopening have been mixed . After staying there I think they are making good progress on their organization and services. I did hear some other guests commenting on some mix-ups but the staff seemed to be responding well. All staff save one were friendly (pool attendant a bit sharp with me when I tried to save them some towels just wanting a morning swim and not a lounge and two towels). The lobby area is very chic-urban with many features from 40 years ago retained. Rooms are very comfortable-great to have a Mac desk top computer in the rooms and so easy to use. Rooms are high tech with snacks being charged if you lift them off the tray. Views even on the island side are wonderful. The beach is great with a long pedestrians only boardwalk which is great for getting a good walk in along the beach. Lots of dining options in all price ranges. This is a big property. Come here if you want to spread out a little more and not be as confined as I have been in SoBe hotels. Yet is is a short cab ride to SoBe. The pool area seems a bit crowded with lounges but I think they want everyone to find a place. It was nice to be back and I think this might be my hotel of choice on MB. My dad who is 89 did patrol on this stretch of beach in WWII-looking for Nazi subs.-He brought me here in 1970-was sad the Boom Boom Room, gardens and tennis courts are gone.

  • The food at Vida...once you can get seated...once you can get one of the ""servers"" to take your order...and once they finally bring it to you is good. Expensive, but good. With very generous portions. However, the service was without a doubt the worst I have experienced in a long time. My company had us there for 4 days and I ate there on 3 different occasions for lunch. We had an early lunch, a late lunch and a lunch in the middle of the rush. Each experience sucked worse than the 1 before. The host/hostess station is a cluster...Why would that person need to disappear for significant amounts of time to keep going into the back kitchen area? There is an army of waitstaff, even when they are at the height of being busy it still seems like there should be plenty of servers. But I have never eaten somewhere where there was more of a flurry of ""Activity"" but really not much happening. Servers disappear off the floor for several minutes at a time, again to go back into that mysterious back kitchen area. What is happening back there? We sat down for an early lunch on Monday and there were maybe 12 tables filled. I think there were more wait staff than tables. It took 15 minutes after we were seated (and that took 10 minutes?) to get someone to simply acknowledge us, let alone get a drink order. The bill took forever to show up and then of course like everything at the Fountainbleu you get hit with an 18% gratuity. For what? Is there anyone managing this restaurant?

  • The location is great, as are the rooms and the view. There is some construction going on right now that interfered with the view some. The staff was very helpful. Parking arrangements were not good. They only had valet parking and it was slow and disorganized. Parking cost $23 per day. The $20 dollar breakfast was probably worth about $8 to $10 (or free really). They nickel and dime you pretty bad. My recommendation, stay there, but don't buy anything there.

  • Horrible Experience! Service was unbelieveable, completely rude and lacking class. Food was adequate. During dinner our water glasses were never filled once and when they brought me the wrong dish, instead of remaking the right dish they simply placed some items on the wrong dish and said it was ""fixed"". They did take the item of the bill but an apology was really in order. When I tried to contact management at the hotel to discuss the matter they couldnt be bothered to return my call.

  • We stayed at the fontainebleau on March 16-21, the hotel is beautiful, amd very large. But the room we stayed in was so small! It was a nice room with an iMac, a flat screen, 2 queen beds, and a marble bathroom. We ordered 2 payperview movies. And they were 16.00 each! By accident my daughter used the Chinese body powder wash thinking it was from the hotel, even though it wasnt! Ew ! Our room was so hot, that we had to go buy water. we asked the gift shop if they sell water, they didnt. so we went to the bar and we bought 3 water ""bottles"". They are made of glass and are called ""Vosse"" . We got 3 of them and our total was 29.00 !!! It was ridicoulous! DO NOT EAT AT THE HOTEL RESTRAUNTS!!! Everytime you eat at one, no matter what there is 20% tip added to the total!! It was a 150$ breakfast, for four of us!! Same for room service! Vida is the best restraunt out of all of them. the positives are: the friendley staff, the beautiful hotel, there is GOOD food, the tv is nice in the room, and the pool is heated! But the downs: it took 20 minutes for the valet to get our car, tiny room, expensive food and drinks, pricey room. If everything was cheaper, i wouldve written a much better review about this hotel. But if you have the money, then stay at the Fontainebleau.

  • Its been 4 days since I came back from Miami Beach where I stayed at the magnificent Fountainebleau Resort. I still have a feeling that it was a dream. The hotel has exceeded my expectations in every category. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I do not usually stay at hotels with such class. I requested a room on a high floor before my departure and my request was granted upon arrival - I got a room on the 35th floor, which was close to the roof which is above 37th. The views over the Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean from the spacious balcony were breathtaking, We drank coffee there every morning not wanting to leave the room. The room was sparkling clean and the housekeeping service was there I think twice a day to clean it. The suie had everything you need, full kitchen, silverware, a washer, and drier, jacuzzi, 2 marble bathrooms, flat TV, a stereo and internet access. Everybody, beginning with the front desk staff, valet parking ending with the housekeeping service was extremely courteous. I have had vacations of my life, I was there with a friend from Europe who visits once a year, the time spent there was worth every penny. We also rented a convertible through travel website - it greatly enhanced the overall experience. One more thing, the Fontainebleau has a private beach, it is also staffed with courteous beach staff who will make sure you have a good time. I am coming back there next year.

  • My wife and I traveled to Miami Beach and the Fontainebleau with our teenage daughter and one of her friends. It was our daughters first trip to Miami Beach. My wife and I have stayed previously at a nice hotel in the South Beach area. The Fontainebleau Suites tower really exceeded our expectations. The location is great for families (and for adults who like to be quiet during at the beach or by the pool during the day and then go to South Beach for action at night). We booked our airfare and hotel as a package through online travel website and got an excellent deal, considering the direct flight and top-notch accommodations. We had a ""two bedroom suite,"" which is really two suites (a studio and a one-bedroom, two-bath suite) that share a common front entrance hallway but have individual front doors (great for safety with kids and privacy from them - Im sure the kids enjoyed their privacy from us, as well). The rooms are very large, very well appointed, and all-around great. The kitchen in the one-bedroom was fully equipped, and the small kitchen in the studio was very adequate, with fridge, cooktop, and microwave. I have to say that this is not your usual condo hotel. The quality of the finishes and furnishings is very high. The service at the beach and at the pool is excellent. The only very slight downside I can think of is that the big pool by the old Fontainebleau hotel (which is under complete renovation right now) is closed, and the pool in the condo tower is a little small for the number of units in the tower. We were never unable to find chairs by the pool, but the chairs are really tight in there. Id go again, for sure!

  • Our hotel was unable to give us as promised 2 rooms on same floor until I pushed the issue. room service only. food(expensive) but delicious and plentiful otherwise not available unless you ventured out. rooftop pool small but nice.a hike to the beach through construction area. gift shop lacking in amenities for ahotle. In room bathroom shower leaks terribly all over floor. I reported it and they acted surprised, but it is an obvious ongoing issue due to poor grading of shower. There are no resturants or shops in walking distance but by cab convient to malls. Overall, Once hotel is completed it will be incredible!

  • This hotel has been fully renovated, and my room was nice, though small. The issue truly is the the staff. From the moment we checked in, my friends and I (a group of doctors there for a conference at the hotel) were poorly treated. The staff could barely check us in, it took 2 hours rather than the promised 10 minutes to have luggage delivered to our rooms (and they lost some of the luggage at that), the restaurant staff wouldnt seat us in their empty restaurant without a reservation (which we made, for 30 minutes later), and then they lost that reservation. I had to listen to their night club until late at night every night in my room. Not a single staff member ever tried to help or assist us, instead we were told that ""this is a 5 diamond resort"" for requests such as moving away from the night club. They even tried to make a friend leave the pool area (which was empty) because she hadnt reserved a lounge chair.STAY AWAY!

Not a single staff member ever tried to help or assist us, instead we were told that ""this is a 5 diamond resort"" for requests such as moving away from the night club. They even tried to make a friend leave the pool area (which was empty) because she hadnt reserved a lounge chair.STAY AWAY!

  • We had a junior suite in the Tresor tower for a conference, staying Tuesday thru Saturday. The hotel is beautiful, but lacking in cleanliness, service, amenities, and convenience. The in room computer didnt work, so a call was made to front desk, and after twenty minutes on the phone with IT guy, it worked..but we were charged for the phone call! I was looking forward to the jaccuzzi, but after I had filled it, found there was a ring of scum around the tub and hair floating in the water. Two requests didnt get the tub properly cleaned... I did it myself. We went to Scarpetta, which was good food, and great wine list, but waited 45-60 minutes between salad and entree, and discovered after paying a rather hefty bill for 4, that there was an additional $150 charge for a bottle of wine we didnt have! There is a lovely little kitchen in the suite, but no wine glasses, only two glasses in the whole suite. It took an hour to get two wine glasses. The lotion and shampoo and conditioner were cheap, there was no coffee and no paper. The mattress was cheap and flimsy. It was only on leaving that we discovered that there was months worth of dirt including fruit candy, plastic toys and assorted dust balls. Not worth the price, and I am sorry for Miami...you needed and deserved something better than this

  • This was our first time at the fontainebleau, and its BEAUTIFUL!!!we stayed in thesuite tower and it was HUGE!However, the maid service and staff were excellent. Also the room was very clean and we loved the views. In fact,There is so much to see and do in Miami Beach such as Lincoln Road shopping, beach,Entertainmentetc. For one thing, the only thing that we were dissapointed with was the pool closed early and the one spa was closed due to construction and it was broken. This hotel was A plus!!We will stay here again.

  • Just got back from a 5 night stay, and it was very disappointing, have stayed here the past three years while under construction and always enjoyed it, but the newly renovated hotel is too big and totally unorganizied . No one knows what is going on and it appears they have never had a job before much less one in a supposedly luxury resort hotel. Very clueless and untrained staff that dont seem to have anyone in charge to make sure things are going the way they should. They also cant make up their minds on whether they are a high end resort or a 24 hour nightclub. They had the music and base blasting in the pool area all night long, I had to wear earplugs to sleep! Fitness center was only open for 2 hours the whole time I was there. They might figure it all out one day, but it seems like they need a good 6 months if not a whole year to get this right and get some communication going. I would avoid this place for a while.

  • Pricey, but great hotel. Beautiful views, not in the midst of all the chaos, but within close proximity of where all the action is. The stay at Fontaine Bleau definitely made the trip worth it and wouldnt hesitate staying there again. Currently going under expansion so theres some construction, but would love to see how the end results are. Overall experience at the hotel, LOVED IT!

  • absolutely terrible service! I have stayed in Miami every year for the last 30 years and the service in that city is progressively worse and worse. Hotel could be great but it is not with the mean emplyees.

  • I have been coming down to this hotel for almost 25 years now, and have seen construction come and go, through-out it all this hotel is not only clean and accomodating but also one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The one bedroom suite over-looking the pool & ocean is one of the best views you could ask for. There definately is a drawback to not having a restaurant in the hotel, and it certainly is pricey, but then again if you are staying at the Fontainebleau to begin with I would assume you have the extra cash. I recommend this hotel!

  • Stayed April 5-9th. The hotel was very nice, totally modern with all amenities. Staff was very nice and went of the way to help. Food and drinks were good. The place was just amazing. Only negative was everything was pricey, but staying at a hotel like this is to be expected.

  • After watching the long extravagant video Fontainebleau presents on its website, we were quite disappointed when we arrived at a hotel that is under heavy construction. The crains and pounding sledge hammers did little to help our attempts to enjoy the beach. The hotel itself was not that impressive. Our suite was very large and nicely appointed, but the oceanfront view we were guaranteed did not materialize. The hotel said they would change us to a smaller suite with ocean views for an additional * per night. We choose to stay in our city/partial ocean view suite since we didnt want the hassle of changing towers. The pool was fair at best, and a far cry from the extravagant pools featured in the video. Service was very good. Extremely friendly and helpful staff during the entire 5 night stay. It just would have been nice had their been even one of the nine restuarants promised. Not to mention the 40,000 square foot spa (non exsistant) or the nightclub. The constant drone and pounding of the construction had us spending most of our time down in Southbeach anyway, but it would have been nice to at least have a peaceful beach experience. It would have been nice to have known that this project was not yet finished. The overall experience of the swift and polite room service, the gracious housekeepers, and other staff helped. Also the one bedroom suite was more than ample in space and had a full kitchen. I might go back once the resort is compleated - but its not likely.

  • My husband and I have been to a lot of very nice hotels in some of our travels, but this by far is the nicest. The staff was just incredible the rooms were heavenly the view was breathtaking. We just returned from here and I would go back tomorrow. They are doing some construction right now but it did not interfere with my trip or view. It will be even more beautiful when they finish the new pool area. Would definately recomend this hotel.
