- The hotel is very beautiful however the customer service is deplorable. My room was not ready even though I requested early check-in. The waiter at the Seafood restaurant was rude, condescending. The Buffet restaurant was great, service and food. The atm?s ran out of money. The rooms are slightly above average but don?t get your hopes up. The hotel is also in the middle of nowhere so you have to have a car or spend $45-55 each way per taxi.

- Just got back from resort. Very nice, clean, manicured, but not worth the money. The spa is a Canyon Ranch spa, so I expected top notch. What I got was extreme prices for so so treatment and service. I have no problem spending for excellent treatment and service, but this was average in every respect, I felt ripped off. The spa is nothing spectacular, nor is the adult pool area. Very disappointed. JB Tampa

- The hotel was beautiful and the service was impeccable. The staff looked for ways to be of assistance at every turn. Our room was spacious and very well maintained. The double sink and tiled shower were super. Be aware of the $15 +tax daily resort fee - you get bottled water, a newspaper and shuttles to/from area attractions. I forgot about it until we arrived. Also, be aware that you will have to pay $12+tax/day for self parking at the resort. Not sure how much it is for valet, but assumed that it would be more costly. Hotel restaurants were costly for this family on a budget, but concierge was more than helpful locating local restaurants as well as places that would deliver. The gardens, paths, pools were gorgeous.

- At $* a night it falls in the luxury category but the service and beds are not luxury. They will NOT let you in before 3:00 p.m and you HAVE to be out by 11:00 a.m. The beds are hard, no special bedding (like at the Hampton). We arrived for a conference at 8 a.m. but werent allowed in the rooms until 3 because they were being cleaned. When we finally got in there, the drawer by the bed had old brochures and empty boxes of medicine left behind from the last people. Ive never encountered such poor cleaning. Nobody helps you with luggage so you walk forever to your room with kids and luggage. Grounds are nice but not worth the hassle in the other areas. Most luxury hotels over service you. I asked for a bandaid and she directed me to a place I could buy one! Room service lists prices for crazy hours and then charge you double when you order at a normal time (sneaky).

- Rooms were plain jane, phone didnt work, internet didnt work and TV had sound problems and could not watch. The valet fee and the resort fee are a waste. This hotel is a lot of hype for not much.Everything is way overpriced as two coffees cost me 16.00. I had to go to the nmanager to get my resort fee taken off the bill as nothing worked in the room as cited above.

- I stayed here on business and brought along my 10 year old son so he could enjoy Disney World on his free time. First the bedroom linens were disguising, brown stains on the sheets and multiple stains on both sides of the bedspread. My son got a number of bites from the bed we did sleep in, after 3 nights be had over 50 bites on his torso. I complained the Manager on my way out, he said he would have the room cleaned and call me as to what they found, he never called and they in no way compensated me for the issues, should have at least paid for the ointment for the bites!

- Make no mistake: you will pay. Everythings expensive, but thats what one should expect when one lives like a queen for a week. The staff is so helpful, and EVERYTHING is clean and beautiful. I booked through an internet deal and was still treated wonderfully and got a beautiful room with atrium view. The room toilets are wimpy, but I think this is a state regulation, and we stopped the toilet up twice and someone was up to fix it within 5 minutes, even after midnight. Food was fabulous. Free Disney transportation several times daily, and its the nicest bus youll see in the Disney lot.

- Ive stayed at the Gaylord 3 times this year! The accodmidations are fabulous! The largest indoor atrium Ive ever seen, and yes, the trees plants and flowers are real! better than any disney resort and half the price! Real koi fish swimming in the waterfall ponds, real gators and turtles, and even a snake lodge! The SS Gaylord, ship/resturant on water is outstanding! Look closely in the water and youll find small sting rays! The pools were wonderful, and the adult hot tubs were even better. The food there is never ending, 5 resturants, yes, a bit over priced but worth every penny! During the Holiday season they had a choir singing on a stage below the GIANT Christmas Tree starting at noon, which was our wake up and get ready music Everyone gets there very own computer with internet in their room, mable counter tops and consider it done service will bring you anything you need at any time day or night. The spa, pools and fitness center are all fantastic. If your bringing a car valet is $20 a day and self parking is $10. We wouldve self parked but we couldnt find the self parking lot... and the front desk charged more taxes then they were supposed to, but I double checked the bill and they fixed it for me -no questions asked. If you want to go to Disney, there is a free shuttle, but Universal will cost you- unless you drive, of course. The is a Hertz car rental on site, but make sure you reserve one way in advance before comming. And if you want liquor and dont want to drink at any of the4 bars- buy it outside before you come. There are better rates through disney dreams unlimited travel.

- We went for an overnight trip to have some fun and we did. The room was not as lush as I was expecting it to be, but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend paying for the valet parking because the self park was very confusing to locate and it looked like a far walk. The kids were looking forward to the kid pool and they had a blast. Although the octupus slide was closed for repairs, so that was disappointing. Would stay here again.

- We took a family trip here with two younger children (7 and 8). The hotel was beautiful and had very clean and spacious rooms. We requested connecting rooms and were accomodated nicely. There was a fun holiday Gnome hunt that incorporated the Travel agency Roaming Gnome, and that was lots of fun...especially for the kids! Also, theres a seasonal ice exhibit that has lots of impressive ice sculptures and ice slides - worth the trip! We ice skated and swam in the pool...quite paradoxical but lots of fun. Word of warning...there are many dining options but youll pay an arm and a leg for food and beverages, so be prepared. Otherwise, great staff and great property. Recommended!

- This hotel is very nice. A bit off the beaten path and exactly what I was looking for. A few things you should know before choosing this hotel for your vacation. There is no shuttle from the airport. If you have three or more people in your group, save some time and get a taxi. It will run you about $*on way to get to the hotel. If you take the Meyers shuttle, they charge $*per person and you have to wait for them. Also, the slide is broken. Not a major deal, the pool is pretty, but a working slide would have been appreciated. People have told us that the slide has been broken since May. They charge you to park in their lot. I do not know how much, but I think it is over $* per day. They also charge a resort fee of around $*per day. None of these things were big issues for me. I loved the place even with all the quirks. The only minor annoyance was when I checked in, I did not leave a credit card with the front desk. I paid for the resort fees up front with cash for the five days we would be at the hotel. i was not planning on renting movies or charging anything to the room and I believe that sometimes hotels will overcharge for things and that sometimes people do not check their bill. I paid upfront and the kind person behind the counter gave us a free room upgrade. I thought that was very nice! The next day and every day after, I got a letter telling me that I did not pay the fee. I talked to the Manager and checked out with an erroneous balance on my account.

- My first nite there I had a burning sensation while in the shower and developed a rash ( I have pictures) from something in the shower water. It scared the hell out of my girlfriend when she saw it, but I was too tired to report it and only wanted to get to sleep. We called twice to report a problem with the clock radio that wasnt working right and it was never fixed or replaced. The view was very nice. They also tried to double charge for parking and I only had one car.

- When we arrived at Gaylord Palms and I went in to register I was so excited and was looking forward to a nice, relaxing couple of days before we headed to the theme parks. It is beautiful inside and out and the designers have thought of the smallest details. The hotel is stunning. I thought I had found a haven in the madness of Orlando and was so thankful not to be staying in the tourist area. Unfortunately, the beauty of the hotel is where the fun ends. The rates at this hotel should put it more in the luxury category, but is not the case. Should you plan to visit Gaylord Palms, be prepared to wait well past 3:00 for check-in, deal with staff who really do not care, overpriced food that is not well prepared and that you wait a long time to receive, hard beds, non responsive front desk and be ready to walk a bunch with or without your luggage to get anywhere in the hotel. Also be prepared to explain to your child that even though the Octopus slide and play area at the Children?s pool is under construction, they can not visit the adult area pool, which is much better maintained and staffed. So be prepared to leave the hotel a bit more tired and with less money than when you arrived and already have your fill of crowds and waiting in line even before you hit the parks. And don?t get sucked in by the websites Emerald Bay VIP / Executive area being a hotel into itself. It is no different than the rest of the hotel other than the fact that the beds are higher off the floor and are hard as a brick.

- The hotel is beautiful and to explore all the grounds (mostly indoors) takes over an hour. You must be reasonably fit, as there is a far distance to travel from the lobby to the elevators. You will literally need to navigate with a provided hotel map. The room was very quiet, clean, and well-appointed. My complaint is that the ""resort fee"" included room internet which never worked, daily newspaper which was delivered 50% of the time, and 2 bottles of water. Since only the water could be relied upon, we paid $15/day for this amenity. The Mediterranean restaurant has the most delicious buffet Ive had in my life but is too expensive to be more than a once-in-the-vacation splurge. Aside from one poolside cafe, you have no other reasonably priced hotel food options. We did not rent a car (thank goodness - I think there is an additional fee for this) so were at the mercy of hotel of Disney food. The Disney shuttle was somewhat infrequent in scheduling (pickups about 6 times a day), but it worked for us. The ride to Disney took about 15 mins. I thought the hotel was wonderful for a romantic getaway, but be prepared for sticker-shock.

- I have stayed here multiple times. It is a great getaway. One of the best things about this hotel is once youre there you dont have to leave. There is so much to do and explore. The atrium is gorgeous so if the weather is bad you can stay in and explore. The restaurants can be pricey but you get what you pay for everything we had was wonderful. The sunday brunch was to die for. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous each time we had a room with a balcony over looking the atrium. I feel that if I were to stay again I would only get a room with a balcony as it allows you to fully experience this hotel. I was displeased with the piano bar the service there was awful and the piano players seemed quite inexperienced. They barely knew the songs requested. I would recommend going to citywalk for their dueling piano bar. That was our only disappointment. You do have to pay for parking but most hotels have a parking fee and it is clearly stated before you make a reservation.

- This place was NOT worth the money. For an expensive hotel, we did not get what we paid for. The parking was extremely unorganized and the service at the restaurant was awful. They also charge a ridiculous fee for parking at the hotel AND a resort fee for water and a newspaper. I will NEVER stay here again.

- We had a great experience at the Gaylord Palms. Very nice hotel, book a room with an atrium balcony, it was great! We used the hotel shuttle to Disney parks and had a great experience. The bus failed to pick us up one time, but it was immediately fixed by sending a towncar for us at the hotels expense. We would definitely stay there again! Very family friendly hotel, nice spacious rooms. Lots of ammenities restaurants, pools, atrium gardens, shopping and more. Very pleasant stay.

- Ignore what others have said. There is no room with a beam (you can see that clearly), as far as location, this resort like may Ive stayed at is secluded with a shopping center only 5 minutes away (perfect since its noisy in Kissimmee sometimes). Early check in is a request since there mostly always full (can?t check in early if there is no room available). I have stayed here over 12 times now and love it every time we are here. They all do a great job for a convention resort. And at least their $*resort fee is said up front and not hidden in fine print like other resorts and offer more than water and a newspaper. Transportation to the theme parks and access to the workout room is also included as well is the in room computer and internet access. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they treat you like real people here, not just a ""guest"" like other places.

- That hotel is huge! It is the size of a shopping mall. It has an atrium view of ponds, rivers, waterfalls all within the hotel. I recommend getting a room with the atrium view it is beautiful. There is so much to see and do inside the hotel that is where we spent most of our time when visiting Orlando. The staff was very nice and helpful. I will stay in this hotel again next time I visit Orlando.

- This is a great hotel with top staff, service and food quality. But beware of the hidden charges. They advertised one rate but upon check in there was a previously undisclosed ""resort fee"" that covered ""water"" (not kidding), use of the pool and fitness center, and internet access. The resort fee was NOT optional; we were told it was $10 per day but upon checkout it was just under $12/day. Also, the Market Fare restaurant does not disclose the price of the buffet meals unless you ask. We went for Sunday brunch and were shocked when the bill came; $80 for two people. Ouch. The steak house is top quality and the service is out of this world, but it isnt cheap. But it was very good. The other odd thing was the hotel was preparing for a Christmas show that for some odd reason they were rehearsing in the center court for all five days of our stay, from about 3:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. VERY ANNOYING! The same loud rock song OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Why didnt they rehearse elsewhere! But the staff is great and the place is grand. I would come back.

- Terrific service sets this apart from other hotels in the area. A solid 4-star hotel, only room maintenance and cleanliness keeps it less than a five. Stray hairs on bath fixtures and black hand prints on light switches cant be excused.

- Weve stayed in Orlando up to 30 x and this was by far the best hotel and place to stay. It might be pricey, but I tell you, you get what you pay for. Im never staying again at a 2-3 star hotel ever again. The room was perfect, great size for the two of us. The bathroom was wonderful. The bed was very very comfortable and they give you enough goose down pillows. The computer with internet access was a great touch as well. We never even left the hotel on Saturday, we got up, went to the gym, had some breakfast, a great shower and the fell asleep in that comfortable bed. Had dinner at Sunset Sams and it was worth every penny. We stayed for 2.5 hours and loved it. The atrium is gorgeous. We walked all over and you never really had to leave the hotel. Yes the surcharges are there, and yes you pay for the water and the internet access, but I buy water no matter where I go. The valet parking was a dream. You log onto the computer, type in your ticket number and your card was brought to you in 10 minutes. No waiting, nothing. We needed extra coffee, same thing, 10 minutes later on my door handle it was left. The king size bed looking over the atrium is a must, sit, drink your coffee and watch everything. Im staying here again. Plus you get free shuttle service to all the parks, and youre only 2 miles away from the shopping. Families will love this, the kids had a blast (we didnt have any) but just watching them. Book it, youll be glad we did.
