  • I can not believe this is the same hotel that people are complaining about previously. I noticed alot of people complained about the resort fee and parking fees, but both fees were explained in detail upon our checkin. The Checkin receptionist could not of been friendlier or more accommodating. The room was wonderful, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The only problem I had was the walls were alittle thin in the restroom. We paid $* per night with a special winter rate and it was well worth plus some. Potbelly suggestion was extremely yummy, I just wish the would bring those to my area. The hotel had started there Christmas decorations and events and that was a wonderful surprise to see.

It took almost 30 minutes for them to figure out how to deal with me and get checked in.The maps provided are barely adaquate and do not accurately depict the floor plans, nor do they show the locations of Ice/vending machines, nor are there any signs pointing them out. I had to ask a member of housekeeping to show me where they were (down a dark side hall with a tiny unreadable door plaque).The location is far from anything so if you dont have a car, be prepared to pay dearly for food and drink as there is nothing else there yet, except for a small sandwich shop and a Ben & Jerrys down on the waterfront. Perhaps in a year or two when they finish construction, things may be better, but I wouldnt bet on it.At check out, I was unable to get my folio due to their system being down for daily updates. They said they would e-mail it to me, but I have yet to recieve it.Overall, I would not reccomend this hotel, especially for family/vacation travel. If you are a business traveler, you may just have to live with it for now untill some of the other hotels open.

  • Amenities were poor, limited to soap,shampoo & conditioner, 1 individual serving of coffee(there were 2 people in the room). We asked daily to leave more, it was not done. The first night there was enormous amount of hair on the shower floor drain, it was disgusting. We called housekeeping right away to have it cleaned. It was a couple hours before anyone came. It was a $35.00 cab ride each way into the city.It has potential but they need to work out some bugs. I have stayed at the Orlando and Nashville resorts and they were amazing. This was such a disappointment

  • Ive previously visited the hotel and thought it was worth experiencing the beautiful property for the weekend with my family. I called the reservations line and asked if I can do a walk-in, to which I was told yes. When I presented myself at the front desk, the front desk clerk informed me that they can only offer me a rack rate and I shouldve made a reservations on the phone. It was clear that the front desk agent did not know how to handle walk-ins. I talked to the Front Desk manager and informed him that he needs to train his staff better in customer service and in treating their guests much better. The sheets and pillows have a mildewy smell, and I had the sheets and pillows replaced by Housekeeping before going off for dinner. When I returned from dinner, I realized that the sheets and pillows still smell. I was too tired to call housekeeping again to complain. My family tried the seafood restaurant at the hotel. The food was bland, service was inattentive, and we were very disappointed. I spent a lot of money to try out the hotel, but came out extremely disappointed. I hope no one else would make the mistake.

  • This is a spectacular hotel. Rooms are spacious & clean, comfy beds, flat screen TVs, fridges. Pienza restaurant was great for buffet breakfast & lunches. Spectacular views of Potomac River. Water taxi takes you to Old Town Alexandria. There is a great laser, light, & water fountain show each night free every hour. Truly unique. Pool was really nice . A nice walking path in front of hotel on the river. A McKormick & Schmick seafood restauarnt , Ben & Jerrys, Potbelly Deli are a 5 minute walk from hotel. There is a nightclub, POSE, on the 18th floor free to hotel guests that has an outside walkway with great views. A short bus ride takes you to the Green Line on the Metro into DC. This hotel has an attached convention center for rreally large conventions & trade shows.

  • Too many problems... The hotel is less than a year old, but they are already remodeling the ninth floor. You know its a bad sign when you see the Please pardon our dust poster outside your room. They checked me into a room on that floor that was completely bare with people hammering in the hallway. The bedding was in a bag on the bed, and the curtains were wrapped up in trash bags. No towels, soap, alarm clock. So the front desk sent up a bellman who came up to make sure I was telling the truth, and then went back down to find another room. They moved me four doors down to another room in the same condition. So the bellman disappeared for even longer and then reappeared with a new key and a new room. All in all - I spent about 45 minutes waiting in empty rooms.Their convention service was ridiculous too. We had a vegetarian at our table for a $250 a plate reception. We all got our food and she waited more than an hour. Finally the manager brought her a plate of fruit and explained that there were more vegetarians than they had expected. They planned for 20 vegetarians out of 1000 attendees. When her food came it was just steamed vegetables and they were cold.The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no public transit so unless you plan on renting a car (always a bad idea in DC) this is not the place for you.A final note - the TVs are wide-screen LCDs and also terrible. Everyone looks fat because the aspect ratio is off, and the in-house cable system takes 3 - 5 seconds to change channels every time you push a button.

  • Awful service, long lines at front desk took 30 minutes for check in and check out, staff are extremly rude and unprofessional. The room was nice clean but i had ordered champagne to be waiting in my room when we checked in and we were supposed to check in at 3 we got are room at 430 and i didnt get my bottle of bubbly till 1130 after two trips to the front desk and two phone calls. No management responsibility what so ever. The sunday brunch was just like the rest of the hotel awful service long waits and ok food. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL YOU WILL REGRET EVERY PENNY YOU SPEND HERE!!!
