  • The reosrt it self was beautiful, the people were really nice and it was very clean. I was a little upset because in order for us to go outside the resort we had to take a taxi, we werent able to walk, the resort was very far from everything. We were told that a bus came every two hours to take visitors to the shooping stores and we waited and it never came. The food was not the greatest, only on thursday nights they had a Dominican cuisine. The drinks from the bar were not very good, and the pina colodas were nasty. The club only played american music, and only like 1 or 2 spanish songs. There was nightly shows but, they were not traditional to the Dominican Republic it was all american music. The shops in the resort were very expensive. If you want to get away and stay in, then this is the place for you, but if you want to be able to walk around town, eat and dance dominican style, then I would not reccomend it.

  • Great Beach, nice grounds, OK food (breakfest & lunch the best), dinner OK, you wont starve. The beach grille serves pizza, burgers, hot dogs and fries, pretty good. Gained 5 lbs.(oops). The mixed drinks are ok, Pina Coladas were a little strange tasting. (Bring your own big cup if you dont want to make many trips to the bar..and tip the bartenders. We stayed in Building 5 with an oceanfront view. The rooms need major updating, our balcony door almost lost its glass and the bed was lumpy. Gorgous view from our room. They are just finishing the renovations of Building 4, all new with plasma TVs, new beds (lucky you who gets to stay there). The rooms are clean, we did have a little problem getting toilet paper, but houskeeping was generally good - dont forget to tip. There was a mixture of people there, mostly German and French, but we met at few Canadians, not to many Americans but everyone was very nice.Be warned......they have a resort attached (the Cayene Club) sort of a Club/Time share, they will bug the heck out of you to come see it, we did not, but just do it so they will leave you alone, they drove us loco. Entertainment was ok, great dancers, would be nice to have a steel band or something by the pool at nite or a beach BBQ evening. Check out is 12:00 noon, call for luggage pick up at 11:00 and check out early to avoid line. Also, bring an alarm clock if you care what time it is. Wear a bikini everyone does. Nice relaxing vacation but I missed by bed

  • Stayed last year and was so impressed we started making Punta Cana one of our yearly trips. Already have our next trip booked to go back the end of July 2008. Felix the bartender at the lobby bar makes a Coco Loco that will blow your mind. This will be a hotel and vacation you will never forget. (stay away from all beef in Dominican Republic is tough as boot leather, like most south american beef. But fish, pork and chicken is all mouth watering. Also plan on a trip to the Jelly Fish in Punta Cana they serve a 2lb. lobster tail. Tipping is not expected but a few American dollars will greatly improve the already superb service. Twice the hotel for half the money.
