  • This hotel has a very nice location for walking and taking the tube. There are various stores and restaurants within a very short walking distance. The rooms are small but well laid out and the beds were very comfortable. The staff is nice but just a bit off in service. Overall, we would stay here again.

  • I stayed at the Holiday Inn Kensington for one week in early December. The room was very small and the hallway of our floor looked old and dirty. The room had a small fridge which was great to store water and juice. The worst thing about the room was the bed. It was like sleeping on hardwood floors! However, the staff was friendly especially the concierge desk. The hotel is in a great location...one block from the tube station and within walking distance to several restaurants and pubs. I would definately recommend this hotel, just keep in mind that the rooms are small but the price is just right!

  • I stayed at this hotel from 23-DEC-08 to 28-DEC-08. We were told by our travel agent that the hotel, the Holiday Inn - Kensingon Forum, was a four star hotel. This hotel was not a four star hotel; it was at best, a 2.5 star hotel: The room was small and shabby, the coffee pot had food stuck to the bottom, the refrigerator didnt work (we asked for, and received, a new one which was filthy inside,) the TV was a old, small CRT model, there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, no safes in the rooms, windows very difficult to open, no computers for internet access (they referred us to the internet cafe down the street,) no lobby bar, the ""restaurant"" was little more than a snack bar. They have a pub attached to, and part of, the hotel. We decided to try dinner there one night. We sat down and tried in vain to attract the attention of the staff as they repeatedly walked past us w/o a glance. Finally, I went to the bar and asked what one had to do to get service. They told me that one has to order at the bar and then they bring the food to the table. I later learned that this is customary in pubs, but all the other pubs I entered had a sign explaining the rules of the game. you think they could have at least taken a moment to explain that to us!One special feature: they offer a ""pillow menu."" You get to custom order which type of single, tiny pillow to put under your head!I would never stay at this hotel again.

  • My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon (our first time in London) and it was lovely. The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance from the tube, markets, shopping, and restaurants... but if you want to stay in, the room service is exceptional (and very affordable) and so is the hotels breakfast buffet. And if youre looking to travel outside London, the concierges are more than willing to help you do that-- several tours can even pick you up from the hotel.

  • The hotel is one block away from a tube station and a grocery store. Our room had a refrigerator and a hot pot so we could easily make instant coffee and oatmeal for breakfast - saving us a ton of money over seven days, The staff was very helpful and the room was clean with a great view (from our side of the hotel)

  • Very close to a major underground station. There was no where we could not easily go. If you had the time and energy one could walk to many major sites. Rooms were a good size compared to what i was used to in other parts of europe. Starbucks was a god send. Would stay there again in a second.

  • We booked at the Forum an arrival in london and upon our return after a wedding. Our first stay was fine, but the last night our room had a double bed instead of teh advertised king. The management was not helpful in making the reservation right.

  • When they say that you cant check into your room until a certain time, they mean it! I was two hours early and was told that my room was not ready but if i wanted to upgrade for more money i could have a room right away. I felt that i was being offered a ""bait and switch"". Luckily they have a baggage room so i left my bags there and took a walk around until I could check in. The room was very clean and the hotel was in a great location for me.I was a little surprised to open the ""fridge"" and find a bottle of water left from the previous resident though. I was a block away from the tube station and within walking distance of museums and parks. There are markets very nearby and nice restaurants as well. The concierge was very helpful when i had problems calling a friend in England, and also answering any questions that i had.

  • I was horrified by the lack of quality in this so-called 4 star hotel. The room was tiny, not at all like the photo that represented it, the photo has since been changed. It was dirty and wallpaper was peeling off the walls, I immediately complained and was taken to a room that was only a tad less shabby, this one had cracks in the ceiling and walls, a large stain on the rug about the size of a watermelon, grime covered the bathroom door and moldings. Our hallway smelled constantly of feces and was also shabby with scraped moldings and walls giving off an institutionalized feel. I was offered another room but didnt have any faith whatsoever that the third time would be a charm. I was offered a free water and soda as a consolation...which at the end of my stay they tried to charge me for! I called the online travel agency immediately and received very little information or help. I can only imagine what an hour on my cell phone will cost for that lengthy international call which yet again offered no hope of any resolve. I was told that I would have to stay the night and check out in the morning and then, THEN another hotel will try to be procured for me. I was terrified of the prospect of being homeless for the week and decided to just tough it out and stay. The only good thing i can say about this hotel was that it was near the tube station and that some of the staff were nice. London itself was wonderful and I tried to spend as little time as possible at the hotel.

  • My husband and I were very happy with this hotel choice. Very convenient - one block from the underground, restaurants, a grocery store and a drug store. Great area, close to major museums and multiple underground lines. The hotel was clean and the service was fairly good. Only complaint would be that the housekeepers seemed to disregard the ""do not disturb"" sign on the door if it is after 8 a.m. - luckily we kept the door bolted, but on 2 mornings they tried to get in the room while we were in there!

  • With the world economies in dire straits, one would think that a hotel would bend over backwards to please their guest. Not at this hotel, their attitude is we need them instead of them needing us.Problems with their heating system, not replacing their ""plastic"" cups in the bathrooms( I guess you are suppose to keep the same cups for the length of your stay) and of course no working light bulbs in order to read at night( they must be conserving electricity) would definitely keep this word traveller away from this location. Finally, to make a ""local"" callto a family member (a usual cost of about 25-40 pence) a bargain at just under 10 pounds.Im from Massachusetts and I believe they must be still carrying a grudge. Come onIt was over 200 years ago.

  • The room was clean and same size as American hotels weve been in. We had an executive room with king bed and sleeper sofa for 3 of us (myself, my college daughter, and my 12 yr old grandson). Very crowded when sleeper was pulled out, but that was only while sleeping. We did have to wait until almost 6 oclock to check in because prior residents checked out late and room needed cleaning, but the staff apologized profusely and gave us free drink tokens. Plenty of hot water (though water pressure a bit weak) and able to adjust room temp so we were comfortable. Hotel is on a main street, so theres traffic noise, but if you live in a city youll be used to it. Were from a small town and it didnt bother us. Convenient location for getting around London; a block from the tube station which gets you everywhere in London and the post office which is the best place for exchanging money. Lots of places to eat nearby. We thought the hotel restaurants a bit pricey, but then many places in London are. We purchased food at grocery store across from tube station to save money. Staff were very considerate and helpful. Housekeeping left extra towels, water, and snacks every day. Concierge was great. They setup a tour with Evan Evans Tours to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath that we loved. They told us where to go for cheaper theatre tickets (Half-Price Tickets downtown).

  • Room was small but had fridge (no safe!) - everything was nice and clean. American outlets a big bonus! My only complaint was that I made five local calls (3 under 2 min, 2 others about 3 or 4 minutes each) and was charged 30 POUNDS (about $60!!!)...so live and learn! Had my cell worked there I wouldve used it but otherwise location is excellent, pub in hotel is fun, and staff was courteous.

  • We booked two rooms for six nights in march,2009.We went to london from Ohio,U.S.A.for our dream family vacation. This hotel being near the tube station in central london attracted my attention.I didnt know that the location near to the tube station is the only reason why this hotel gets business with the foreign tourists.Four star hotel? In what way?The hotel website is deceitful. The description of rooms indicate lots of things which were totally missing. For example, mini refrigerator in each room?We had none in either room, only the empty space where the refrigerator was supposed to be.No working electric bulb on the main lamp for six nights. The T.V.wasnt working either. They replaced another one from another room which was no better, just a headache. Most disturbing thing was the rude, most unprofessional staff.A senior staff or who ever he was barged into(do not disturb tag was on the door)my room without even knocking. No hi,no introduction, rudest possible tone, totally unprofessional attitude. And this hotel wants business from Americans? An order of nachos from the room service was like a pile of mud. i spent over twelve pounds on this mud which no one would even touch after the first bite.I spent ton of our money on this hotel and all we received was bad treatment from its rude staff. Coming into my room without knocking to order me around without self introction? My vacation got ruined right then.Polite, professional staff is number one quality i look for in a hotel.Bye bye ,not a cent on this hotel again from me,there are plenty of hotels in london near tube stations which was the only positive feature this hotel had.

Front reception very negative - checked in and checked out by Fil - needs attitude improvement. Ate at restaurant one night - didnt have 1st 3 selections plus dirty utensils. Will stay again.

  • My husband and I stayed for six nights in Dec. right around Christmas. It is a few blocks from the tube. Easy tube ride to picadilly, tower bridge, and other tourist spots. The staff was nice. There are places to eat in the area near the tube. Walk to Victoria and Albert and Natural History museum. The hotel was clean and the business center (email use) was 2 pounds for a half hour. Rooms are small!

  • This was a pretty good hotel - 1 block from the tube, and the rooms are small but everything you needed was there (minus a hotel safe), and there were american outlets. The tour buses stop at the hotel, which is even more fantastic - only problem I had was calling late at night to get a taxi - it didnt get done, but its a busy taxi stop so I didnt have to wait for one.

  • This hotel is located a short walk from the Glouscester Road tube station and is easily accessed via the Picadilly or District/Circle line. The desk staff and Concierge were extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and roomy with American electrical current. Good restaurants, a Tesco, and several other stores are just around the corner. Very close to Harrods, Kensington Palace, museums and Kensington and Hyde Park. We have stayed here several times and would recommend it to anyone visiting Central London.

  • Supposedly the tallest Holiday Inn in Europe, its pretty basic and doesnt have a lot of amenities. The best 2 things about this hotel is its in a great neighborhood and a 3 minute walk to the closest tube station. It appears to be a magnetic hub for large American tourist groups. Access through the lobby when 3 busses of traveling high school students arrive is nearly impossible. The most important thing to remember about this hotel is the elevators - they are the worst!! After day 4 of noticing how long it took to get down from the 4th floor to the main level, I timed it on our last day. From the fourth floor, it took over 12 minutes before a over stuffed elevator arrived at our floor. Then when I could get into an elevator, the door wouldnt close. Then, the elevator proceeded to go up, where a cute German couple and I commiserated about the silly elevators. For the time we spent there, we had just been taking the stairs down because it was just silly after a while, but we had our luggage in tow on the last day. I mentioned it to one of the front desk staff who obviously had heard this complaint several times and was very defensive about getting them working correctly. Ive stayed at nicer hotels within walking distance of this hotel, and while the other places do not offer the peace of mind of a major hotel chain, they do offer bigger rooms and bath rooms and quick elevators for almost the same price. Otherwise our trip to London was brilliant!

  • The rooms are EU small, but still bigger than most found in EU. I stayed one night in deluxe room and 2 nights in executive--the king bed is 2 single mattresses pushed together and only acceptable -- not rock hard but certainly not the plush standards of high end hotels. Quiet, clean, modern and easy to get to the tube station plus grocery a block away.

  • this is most certainly not a 4 star hotel by any stretch but good for those only require the basics. The hotel was clean as were our 2 rooms. I had booked what I thought was one room for my family of 4 but upon arrival I was told that we had to have 2 rooms as the rooms only held 3 persons. We were assigned rooms on the 6th floor which was a smoking floor! I have a chld with asthma and this certainly was not acceptable. I was told that they had no other rooms available but that I could switch the next day. The next day I was told that they would ""take care"" of the switch while we were out sightseeing- this was not the case. They only wanted to switch one of the rooms and when I explained that both needed to be changed they wanted to place us on different floors but they did manage to get us on the same floor. The staff was nice but spoke limited English and had a hard time dealing with problems. Breakfast was ok but there were not many choices available for children who would have prefered pancakes or waffles. (but it was included) The location was great- only a short walk to the tube. The streets were quiet around the hotel. There were a couple of nice pubs across the street as well a Starbucks and a Burger King- nice for the kids. If I stayed in this hotel again I would remember to ask for a non smoking floor upon making the reservation. I would not necessarily recommend this hotel but would not discourage it either.

Concierge helpful with purchasing advance tickets. Sunday buffet 15#/person-I don't think so) Many nice pubs & restaurants on Gloucester for breakfast-dinner convenient for starting or ending your day & fantastic Chinese rest. in front of hotel (even my husband liked it) I highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. Can't beat the price & location to Tube.

  • My wife and I were on our honeymoon, we only stayed in London one night coming back from Paris. Since we had little time to see the sites, and this being our first trip there, we really wanted to see as much as we could. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to point us in the right direction. They explained were and how to take the subway. The concierge got us tickets to the double-decker bus. We saw has much as one can in such little time thanks to the staff at the Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum. The hotel is well located and the staff is extremely helpful for all he guest needs. We highly recommend this hotel.

  • We were expecting small rooms while in London and were not disappointed. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed with the exception of space. The bathroom was small but more than enough room to shower. The overall hotel was very pleasing to the eye. The lobby was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. We never actually ate in the restaurants because we were running around, but they appeared pleasing and clean. The Tavern was a nice place to unwind at night. The only complaint I had was I booked this hotel because all rooms were air conditioned. When we arrived, there clearly was no A/C. Even though it was cooler outside the rooms got stuffy. After about 3 days I called the front desk to ask for a fan and explained, and was told that the hotel does have A/C but maintenance had shut it off since it was cold outside. She said to give her a few minutes and she would have the A/C in our room turned back on. Within minutes it was on. However, on our last night there they cut the air back off. Over all I felt the hotel met all our needs and it was extremely close to the Glouseter Underground which we used all the time. Buy the travel pass, it is well worth it for getting around London. If you get the pass for 6 zones, it will even take you to Windsor Castle which some will tell you you can do. Just take the underground to Slough and you can catch a train to Windsor by simply showing your travel pass to the attendant and there is no additional charge.

  • You have to pay extra for upgraded excuitve room for ANY space.I agree with the person about front desk are terrible here. They are not helpful. You have to stay on them and cause a fuss to get help.We where put in a small room with two twins beds. All that fitted in there was us..Our luggage barly got thur the door...Now the rooms are nice.I thought the beds where kind of hard..i like soft. It took two days of fussing to get our rooms upgraded to a room that was so much spaouis.Than you have to pay a bit more.It was well worth it,,It is a nice holiday inn.So they have to honor HI promise.Be careful if you paid for CN breakfast. We did. They tried to charge us daily for it when it was in our room rate.Front desk staff are rude!!!They are unhelpful..I can not ever undestand why miserable people take these jobs in hotels if they dont like people?I suggest unless your out everyday and only sleeping here to go with the exuctive type room...A lot of airline use this hotel for overnight for staff. It is safe hotel. My daughter and i stayed here.Right around the corner is the underground. We where ablt to get any where in london very easy...The hotel is set in a very nice neiborhood..
